Carleton House  

The Victorian features were excellent and tastefully decorated. the Owner and staff were very friendly and helpful

The staff were extremely firendly and nothing seemed too much for them. The room was very well furnished and comfortable and the location was ideal, as it was only a 5-10 minute walk from shops, restaurants etc. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Impressed by the attentive staff member for whom nothing was too much trouble. She was happy to make restaurant recommendations & offered to call a taxi in view of the inclement weather. The room & bed were comfortable with good facilities & more than enough toiletries on offer in the bathroom. A newspaper ordered the night before was there at breakfast, which provided a delicious & comprehensive offer. Would be happy to stay here again.

The Carleton House is beautifully clean and welcoming and the breakasts are lovely, with plenty of choice. Although I booked a single room I was given a double which was very nice.

We were very impressed by the young lady who greeted us and took care of us during our stay. She helped us (doddey old things that we are) with our bag, up and down to our room and car, and was extreemly friendly and chatty. The room was very nice, warm and comfortable, and the dining room and bar, very pleasant to be in.The breakfasts were really good, and set us up for the day.All in all we had a really good break, and would certainly recommend Carleton House.

Was clean and warming,quiet.

The room I chose was supposed to be a supreme but lookrd like a normal double,didnt like the large window over the door which shone light in the room alla night from the landing light so didnt get much sleep and not very sound proofed as we were disturbed by someone in the next room snoring all night.

Everything. Travelled with grown up daughters to christmas shop. had family room, lots of space and very comfortable. Breakfast good, parking good. staff helpful and friendly. booked to go back next year.

the tv was a little small for the room size, only criticism

Unable to book in before 4.00pm Boiler broken, no central heating or hot water for washing. We had to ask if there was a room with an electric power shower we could use to wash in. Not volunteered by staff. Our room was not cleaned on the second day. We complained to the staff who said that when we went out that evening they would organise cleaning etc but this did not happen.

We were impressed with the service and the room was very comfortable. Bottled water in the room was a nice touch. The breakfast was first class with a good selection. Would definitely return.

House nice in a pleasant location. Good breakfast.

Never again. Quite the smallest bedroom I have ever had, more of a corridor with a bed in it. No drawer space and little storage space. Specific requests I made when booking were not met. The room was not cleaned between my two nights and dirty towels were still in the shower. Didn't serve breakfast until 8.

Staff were very nice, breakfast was good. Situated in a nice area.

We were very disappointed with our room . We were expecting similar quality to pictures on the website but we were in an attic room which was small and smell musty. There was no hot water in the bathroom.

I was made very welcome. Accomodation and meals were excellent.
