Good value for money friendly staff
Cold Water tap didn't work. Table cloth's were all very dirty at breakfast.
The room was extremely dirty. I stayed in mid January and at night there was a terrible smell so i had to keep windows open . Needless to say it was freezing. In the morning while packing i found the source of the smell, a drawer full of plastic containers with mouldy food in them.
the closeness to the sea and town and the excelent breakfast
the cleanliness of the room and the bar was shut as not enough clients in to warrent opening the shower could have been cleaner as well
BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND GOOD VALUE
CAR PARK MUDDY , HOODIES HANGING AROUND FRONT DOOR , STRANGE LADY JOINING US WITHOUT INVITATION (SHE WAS NOT A GUEST ) cold rooms bar not well stocked.requires new decor / refurb
Friendly reception staff, cleanliness of bathroom was first class. Unbeatable value for money.
Breakfast staff were friendly but could have been more proactive in finding out what customers wanted when they arrived and also explain the set up to new guests. I was left guessing how 'the system' worked and wasn't even sure if a cooked breakfast was an option until I overheard other guests ordering. When you're on a time limit it's nice to be told if it's just a buffet or table service.
The hotel is dirty, have request for towels.
If the room had been any smaller, there would have been no room for a bed! Very dull and outdated interior, wind howled through window alnight, noisy people next door!!...
You must appreciate what they are trying to achieve. Price including breakfast far outweighs any problems. Ideal stop over option.
Shower did not work but group booked more than one room so had alternative.
Although the location of this hotel is excellent, it is very poorly run
No phone, no basic hotel services such as laundry, breakfast is poor.
breakfast good for the price
very dated, but so was the rest of Folkstone.
location and budget price, breakfast was very good.
Nothing at all
Room was cold no heating bed was solid. Floor boards in bathroom were so uneven when u walked In the toilet wobbled terrible experience never again.
Really good value price with a good breakfast included.
Bed was uncomfortable with lumps and ridges in it.
helpful staff quiet room very adequate to our needs English breakfast basic quick filling
Excellent price, £28 for bed and breakfast in a family room, used as a stop over before travelling on the Channel Tunnel the next day. Excellent location with sea views and easy access to the town centre. Comfy, quiet and clean. Free car parking and Wi-Fi.
Rooms need a little modernising but for this price really nit picking.
The hotel was in a good location, walkable from the town, but with more of a seaside feel about it, and with good views of the ocean from the front. Free parking (limited) to the rear of the property. Free WIFI. Cheap room rate.
The general feel of the property in my opinion is very run down & tired. My twin room on the first floor was very basic, with old furniture that included an armchair that was broken, and a very small and old style television. The room clearly had not been cleaned thoroughly for some time. There were remains of previous visits under both beds i.e. old pills wrapping and bottle tops. The toilet base was stained brown which was very unpleasant, and there were signs of mould on the bathroom and shower walls.
the room dirty smelly
atmosphere helpfulness of staff
beds could be warmer with duvets instead of blankets
Staff friendly and helpful
Car Park was a mud bowl room hadn't seen a hoover found pot noodle pasta on floor White flecks on bed top cover left it on the floor overnight Single glazed windows in room full of condensation
The price and location
Shower hardly working
Crossing the road and being on the beach and few minutes walk from town center
Too noisy, doors being slammed at all times day and night, people making noise during the night and staff not doing anything to avoid it. We didn't sleep for 6 nights. The bedroom was "cleaned" after 5 days by just removing the garbage and replacing one of the towels. No vacuum was passed nor bed done. Cutlery, cups and plates not really clean. Didn't try the bar.
The staff and the quiet. Very good price for a double room and breakfast for two people.
It was a bit run down. Some things probably should be renovated.
Good location right on the sea and close to town 5 min walk. Free car park, although very muddy and uneven.
Booked with booking.com room wasn't reserved when checked in receptionist tried to givery me two single rooms when I had booked a double. Had to wait for the guy to finish a personal call on his mobile before I could check in. Checkout the receptionist was busy kissing her boyfriend in the office ended up just leaving key and going. Room very cold no heating and only small electric heater. Drafty. Curtains blowing! Room very basic which is ok but not clean, teaspoon stuck to the coffee tray. A budget hotel ok for one night if you don't expect too much
friendly staff; good location; characterful hotel; clean sheets; breakfast in the morning.
no hot water in the morning; restaurant opened late for breakfast and we didn't have time for the cooked breakfast; several lights didn't work in the room; bathroom was particularly shabby.
