Carlton Court is the best guest house we have ever stayed in by far,The deluxe double room that we had, has everything you could wish for including a fridge re stocked with fresh milk and bottled drinking water daily, a large very comfortable bed, a seating area by the window with coffee table, Digital TV, Plenty of storage, 2 Bath robes, and an excellent bathroom with a power shower. The room was very quiet, clean, and pleasantly decorated with a view of the garden. In the dining room coffee and a selection of cereals and fresh fruit were available whilst Breakfast was cooked to order by the owners Phil and Helen which was always served hot and perfectly cooked. The reception, car park and road outside the Carlton court were all covered by security cameras for peace of mind. Although we always got parked in the car park it was a little small and difficult to manouvre in but help was offered by the owners if required.

The hotel was perfectly located in a quiet area but with the town and seafront surprisingly only a 10 min walk away and the onsite car parking was very convenient. Hotel facilities were excellent and we received a very warm welcome from the owners. Excellent standard of decoration and cleanliness throughout. The room was really comfortable and the breakfast had plenty of choice as well as being well cooked. Would definitely stay again.

We choose the Carlton Court in Torquay by viewing the "excellent" reviews first before making our booking and we can honestly say that they well deserved the comments that it received. Helen and Phil made us feel most welcome and we felt that nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious and it was a pleasure to come back in the evenings to lovely surroundings knowing that you have a warm and comfortable bed to fall into. We opted for the full English breakfast each morning that was cooked to perfection but other choices were available including fresh fruit salad, and salmon with scrambled eggs. The sausages and bacon are locally sourced as were the eggs, and were very very tasty. We were happy with the location as it is situated in a quiet road away from the traffic and noise and suited our needs as it was easy to get too when returning each evening. We would certainly book there again when we next visit the area and would recommend it to others. Thank you Helen and Phil for your kind hospitality - from the Mann Family.

The warm welcome received by the owners and constant attention to detail. All local information given when requested was spot on including the places to eat. A very warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the whole of our stay. Trouble with the lock/key. Danger of locking yourself in the room.

We enjoyed our stay at Carlton Court and received excellent value for money. Superb bedroom facilitaties, lovely large bed, bath and separate shower area, 2 splendid club chairs, flat screen TV with several DVD's, plenty of tea, coffee and chocolate drinks available, illuminated magnified mirror, bath robes and soft towels, radio alarmed clock, tastefully decorated, and outstanding clean. Breakfast first rate, choice of cereals and fresh fruit, various selection of bacon, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms and eggs cooked anyway you wish. Also parma ham with cheese, omelette with smoked salmon and as much toast as you want. All in all a spendid place to stay. Car park was a little constricted but most of the car parks around there looked somewhat fiddly due to the hilly terrain. I always had a place to park when I arrived back at the hotel what ever time that was, even though the hotel was full.

I was very dissapointed in the Carlton Court it is not a hotel it is a b & b how it has been awarded 5 stars is beyound me.I Felt like I was intruding in somebody's house. It was not a 10 min walk either to the seafront more like 30 mins. There was no facilities at all in the b & B. I would never stay there again it was not worth the money at all. Angela Kennerley
