The breakfast and the staff Dont stay on the top floor if you have a heavy suitcase,no lift very narrow stairs windows poor fit so traffic noise..not a bad place but a bit overpriced.it is a contracters hotel.and I feel £28.00 would be a fairer price

The wifi was the only positive thing i can think of to say about my stay in this hotel, closely followed by checking out. It was grubby, extremely tatty and there was no hot water.

not very much to be honest the reception was abandoned when we arrived and it took fifteen minutes before anyone responded to the desk bell ! the person in charge of reception didn't have any change when we payed for our room and still owes us five pounds ! we were offered an upgrade and if the room we were given was an upgrade i hate to think what the room we should have been in was like ! no doors on the wardrobe no drawer in the bedside cabinet and no drawers in the divan beds all in all it was a damn mess !!!! see above box it just about covers it !!

Best thing in the room was the comfortable bed. No towel rail, no provision for toiletries in bathroom I.E. shelf. Toilet cistern was coming away from the wall, not enough power sockets in right places, not enough parking places.

I will be returning to the carlton and use it as my base when I go to suffolk. Which will be every 3 months; The staff could not have been more helpfull, or polite, the food was basic and wholesome. The standard of cleanliness was very good: It's location near to town just right. Very happy with the Carlton and would recommend it

The breakfast was god. Walkingt distance to town center. Free car parking. Smal rooms, low comfort on toilet and bath, no or bad space for clothes, singel glas windows wich means bad insulation and condense.

The only thing that was helpful for me was that it was walking distance to the town centre. It was shabby, run down, to describe it as a hotel is totally unacceptable. In reality it is a budget 1 star B&B. My priority whilst having a shower was to not touch the sides.

It was a good location for us. Cost reasonable The hotel is "tired" badly in need of work to smarten it up. My major problem was avery narrow passage leading to the car park in which I got stuck and grazed my offside front wing getting out. It really is too narrow for the larger family car.

The Carlton Hotel is centrally located in Ipswich. The staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming. The rooms are small and basis. Although 'Tea and Coffee' making facilities are advertised, there were only tea bags. No coffee! Neither was there any soap in the room. On the positive side, the cooked English breakfast was exceptional. Better than many 5 star hotels. All, in all, The Carlton Hotel represents good value for money. The negatives, such as the missing coffee and soap would only cost the management pennies to provide and these can mean so much to the guests. No coffee or soap in the room.

Its location to the town centre The cleanliness of the room. Net curtains were very dirty and the carpet needed hoovering. The lampshades were dirty. All in all the room needed a good spring clean and general updating. The lighting in the bathroom was very poor and the light above the mirror kept cutting out.
