The Location Cleanliness Good breakfast Recepionists indifferent (apart from the first on check in) Room extremely small should have been used as a single and not a double Overpriced for the area Hotel only partially full, would have been nice to have been given a decent room.

Our room must have been recently refurbished, it was spotlessly clean and the bed was fab. Best hotel stayed in so far in Blackpool. The breakfast was value for money too. Parking is also a bonus.

The hotel offered a free car park and free wi fi. Very central location. There really is nothing to like about this hotel. From the outside and certainly in the foyer the hotel looks very classy, but beyond that, well, its certainly not. Our room was pokey to say the least, with only one window with restricted opening. Had it been a hot evening, it would of been unbearable to sleep and there was no air con. Some rooms offer a sea view, we had a horrid view of a flat roof with all the metal extraction casings and metal stairs. All the rooms have drab orange wallpaper, and are certainly in dire need of a facelift. Totally depressing to say the least. We certainly will not be staying at the Carlton again.

Fab location with easy parking facilities which is always an issue in Blackpool. Travelling with 2 teenagers meant they could go out knowing could get back easily. Breakfast great value for money.

Leaving in the morning As we arrived at the double room, the door opened and hit the side of the bed, we had trouble getting our cases into the room through the gap, then on using the wash basin, foul smelling water backed up from the shower tray, there was damp patches on the wall, dust on the tv and shelves, then when we called down to complain we were told "There are no more rooms I will bring a super plunger and sort out the shower" this failed, we were then told "We can use the bathroom in the single room next door" and with a spray of air fresher the night porter was gone, had breakfast in the morning, that was just as bad as the room. My advice stay well away from this hotel.

The best western served my son and my reason for visiting Blackpool for the weekend. The hotel was quiet at night and location was close to where we wanted to be. I thought the breakfast could have been warmer

All the staff were extremely friendly and professional and our room was warm, comfortable and well appointed. We were impressed by the excellent value breakfast and also the quality of the dinner menu. My evening Guiness turned out to be the awful 'surge' rather than a normal draught. But that is my only 'complaint'

Location and free parking. Poor breakfast, not hot enough and only 1 staff member on duty. Had to chase coffee. No morning Newspaper (Mirror) on 1st day. Excuse was that shop did not have Mirror in stock. Could have offered me an alternative paper. Bathrooms in rooms could do with updating. Poor shower (hot and cold). And finally, my room was opposite lift. Noisy in morning but not caused by guests but by Housekeepers, banging doors and hoovering at 8:30am. Unacceptable!!

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. As one of our party had restricted mobility we asked for a room near a lift if possible. To provide this for us the hotel gave us a complimentary room upgrade, which was very much appreciated. Evening dining was quite restricted. The restaurants did not open until 6.30 P.M., which means that if you are going to a show with a 7.30 start, as we were, you cannot eat in the hotel beforehand. In addition the room service menu was only available from 6 P.m

Friendly welcoming staff, clean rooms, good food and sea views from lounge The room was rather small and basic at the rear of the hotel - lacked small finishing touches (such as bathroom door locks - the mechanism had been removed completely and not replaced - no curtains or blinds in the bathroom), but was entirely adequate for the price and single night we stayed there - I would have been most disappointed had I been staying longer. Perhaps an opportunity to wow! us has been missed - but the potential is there

Flexability. We were able to check in 3 hours early at no extra charge. We could change and queue early to get into the Strictly come dancing live final. Many thanks. Guaranteed free parking.

Location. Ideal for Blackpool Tower and the new Comedy Carpet. Minutes away from main shopping area and train station linking you to Preston. Separately the Jali Restaurant and our breakfast were very good, food being just as important as the room and facilities of the hotel. We felt that the hotel was looking a bit tired. Maintaining the hotel is utmost.
