Excellent position to Blackpool central very clean, good food, friendly staff, a lot better than reports we have read about it.
Could not fault anything.
The hotel was clean enough just a little tied and in need of some TLC
Cleanliness Location parking decent sized room
The two receptionists quarrelling on reception, and didn't stop when we appeared.
Hotel was good position, staff pleasant. Rooms was ok for price we paid with tea/coffee, large bathroom.Even though it's an old building had tried to update rooms. Breakfast self service, very good choice and nicely cooked. Would stay again as it suited our needs
Carpets tired in corridors. Windows to our room filthy outside not been cleaned for very long time(we were at back of hotel). We stayed 14th Nov and heating only seemed to be on in the evening from 5ish til midnight. We were not bothered about it being on while we were asleep but would have liked it to be on when we got up and had shower.
The breakfast is worth the stay alone, excellent. The bar stays open till 2am and the stag and hen parties are not allowed ..hurray!! The tram stops right outside the door Get a sea view room ,worth it to wake up too.
The decor is getting dated now, there is a problem with damp around the window head in room 112. the bed was almost too soft for my liking.
Staff were very helpful and friendly room was spotless clean and had everything you needed . Would recommend eating in the restaurant great value for money and food was fantastic especially the tikka ! Great presentation on the food and breakfast is a buffet which was lovely and plenty of choice . Would go back again that's for sure
Making own toast in the morning bit of a que.
price;location and free parking
the wifi was dire, room was freezing cold! had to ask reception to turn on heating..
Location, value, car parking, staff helpful
Bed was really poor, sagged in the middle so we kept rolling together into the middle, some cobwebs hanging from lights. Room 309
Room a little too cool
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food good
Generally tatty. Badly in need of refurbishment . Breakfast very good , spoiled by cold plates.
Parking was fabulous and the breakfast was great. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening so can't comment regarding that. Location was great in Blackpool.
This was a Best Western which was frayed around the edges. In areas the carpets and decor needed updating and our personal bed was hard and lumpy.
easy to find and in a good location
4ft 6ins double bed, now expect at least a 5ft bed Car Parking was a bit tight
Everything. Staff are 1st class and can't do enough for you. Thank you for a welcoming stay .
staff always very friendly and professional.Location good for shopping in the day and restaurants/pubs for night time
Steps into bathroom not ideal but staff always mention it on arrival. The front door is a nightmare.really heavy and difficult to open
Staff very friendly, room was spotless great shower with hot water but didn't provide any toiletries except soap, there was a hairdryer in the room and TV with freezes and free WiFi ,breakfast was delicious and plenty of it , it was about 10-15min walk to the wintergardens ,I was told at the reception the hotel is going to be refurbished soon but I would still recommend this hotel it isn't the Ritz but it was spotless and good location
Lack of entertainment
Friendly staff, very clean nice hotel
Food excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. Room nice and clean.
Rooms need to be refurbished. Decor in general very tired looking throughout.
This was our 2nd stay at The Carlton and again we were not disappointed.Yes it could do with a little TLC but all staff were both polite and nothing was any trouble for them. The food in the restaurant was of top quality and not too expensive.Even the receptionist remembered my husband and myself from previous year. The breakfast was amazing and really hot eat as much as you wanted. We will most certainly be returning in 2015. The car park was large and we had no problem at all.Thank you to all staff.
The staff were excellent
room a bit small but adequate for one night
That I was only staying one night.
On check in the bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned. I went to reception to complain. They offered to send maid or change room. I said I'd have a look at the other room. The second room was 2 single beds pushed together and one side against a wall. The other side had a sloping roof so I had to stoop to get round the only accessible side (I'm only 5ft6). The shower curtain was also not clean in this room. Went back to my original room to find the cleaner had already been and it was now resolved. At this point I realised I'd left the room key on reception so I went back down to say we'd stay in our original room and collect the key. I found out that reception had subsequently given my room to someone else. Originally I stood my ground, why should I move from the room they'd originally given me? To cut a long story short having not raised my voice or swore at any point I was told if I wasn't happy they'd refund me, helpful at 5-30 on a Saturday with tickets booked for an event starting at 7. They then offered to put me in a nearby hotel, this would have been acceptable but when I checked the location it was aboit a mile away from where I needed to be. I refused to move until an acceptable solution was found which resulted in them threatening to call the Police. Eventually with hotel management offering no customer service just threats I had no choice but to accept the 2nd room or I would have missed the event I'd travelled for.
food and friendly staff
very small double room
Excellent location with car park good self service breakfast with plenty of choice
Bad wi-fi connection. Bath room ages to fill because of low water pressure
Bed not level or comfortable (I actually rolled out onto the floor twice). Had to stand on bed to open window (not safe). Noisy room beside lift due to staff and guests talking or shouting. Also swing door beside lift very creaky. Bathroom fan goes on for ever and is also noisy. I wouldn't stay here again.
