Very clean rooms with extremely friendly and polite cleaners. The lift. It would be nice if the reception staff informed you about breakfast times and where to go for it when you arrived.

Convenient to Kings Cross station The shower/toilet is very small and really needs a squeegie available to get the water on the floor down the drain after a shower. A stool under the desk in the room would be handy. The light in the stairway to room 3 in no. 6 needs to come on a little earlier - the first 3 steps down are narrow winders and the light does not come on till you have negotiated the most dangerous part of the steps.

The breakfast was wonderful. Location was perfect. Right across the road from Kings Cross station. No homeless and very secure. Some nice bars and resturants right there. bathroom way to small, and window could be more soundproofed from the street below. I slept through the night though.

Great location close to station. Close to shops and the tube station. Staff very friendly and helpful. It really was a budget hotel. I needed something last minute so I guess I got what I paid for. Bed comfortable but very small room for a double bed. Shower extremly small and a tight squeeze. One wardrobe and a tv with no remote. But as they say, you get what you pay for. But for £95 a night I did expect a bit more. I didn't have the breakfast there after a guest suggested I didn'T. So I went to a great coffee shop around the corner.

We are a family of five where the youngest member was 17 and we give the hotel our recomendation. The hallway is a bit tight and rooms are not the biggest but the location is just so fantastic that it dose not matter!:) just across the street from Kings Cross underground station and St Pan. so we could just come straigt from Gatwick. We also recomend the indian resturant next to the hotel. We where there at the 19th of may on eurovision night. We had never bin to an indian resturant and they wear verry nice to help us! and the service is very homie and friendly:) The dessert that is made of 3 kinds of icecream is to die for! If ever in this area again we will deffinetly come back!:) The breakfast was a bit...english;) Nothing but fatty bacon and white bread. But the quick and clean.

Manager very caring toward my elderly mother in finding her a room best suitable for her needs. Front desk staff very agreeable. Cleaning staff left towels/sheets in duffel bags blocking the doorway to the elevator. Difficult to move to get my mother safely through.

Handy to kings cross. Breakfast Sufficient if little monotonous after four days! Room probably the smallest I've ever stayed in - but it did the job.

Cheap and cheerful - you get what you pay for so don't expect comfort Bathroom- shower over bath didn't work, shower screen cracked then taped over with what appears to be masking tape, no plug for sink. Bedside lightbulb not working- when asked for a replacement the staff did not appear to understand what I was asking for!

Friendly and helpful receptionist. Original twin room was so small that I asked to be moved to a larger room. We were moved to a quadruple room which was adequate for two of us but I would hate to think that 4 people would have to share that room, again it is too small for 4 people. The bathroom smelt of damp and had many patches of black mould on the ceiling above the shower and in the grout in the shower which is both unhygienic and unhealthy. The bedside lamp smelt of burning electric when turned on so I switched it off immediately. I was going to report this information to the receptionist in the morning but as the fire alarm went of at 3 am and we were evacuated from our room I forgot when we checked out due to tiredness.

I wanted a basic hotel near St Pancras Station so that I could catch the 05.40 Eurostar to Paris the next day. The Carlton was just that. Nothing fancy, but a beautifully clean, basic room with a shower room at a good price. The staff were all lovely - a real bonus. My room was over the street without double glazing, so was quite noisy. Fortunately I can sleep anywhere, in any conditions, but light sleepers might want to take note. The light over the bathroom basin (not main bathroom light) was not working, and when I reported it, I was told that they had bought a bad batch of lights and none of them worked (!).

Convenient to St Pancras and Kings Cross stations. Good they had luggage storage so you could leave luggage while travelling elsewhere. Gave us cereal, toast and tea before our early departure on the Eurostar Small bathroom. Inconvenient power points situated behind a wardrobe. Had to more wardrobe just to plug in electric jug. Very tired feel to the place.

Incredibly quick and fuss-free check in. Room was surprisingly spacious and clean. Shower room a little compact but perfectly ok for one night. Staff were friendly and obliging when we wanted to leave some luggage for the afternoon. We were also nearly an hour late checking out and the staff didn't say a word.

Location was excellent - great for somewhere to sleep if you are looking to explore london Don't expect anything lavish or plush - it is what it is - somewhere to put your bags and to sleep at night - its london you are out exploring so it is just a base and it is very good for that.
