Enjoying spectacular views over the River Teifi, Poppit Sands beach and Cardigan Bay beyond, this charming traditional inn has a stunning location that is truly inspirational.

Newly refurbished, it now offers stylish and comfortable surroundings through the first and second floors.
Score from 18 reviews Good
Attractive property in quiet location. Parking available and good pub meals and very good breakfast.
£5 per hr for wifi. Was one of the more expensive places we stayed in but others had better quality linens and towels. Bedroom decor/quilt etc could do with an update
Welcome and atmosphere, food, room (excellent shower)
A bit basic cheep ingredients
A lovely restaurant with good food and a wide menu with local produce
food was great breakfast and evening meal. as most clients say very comfy beds and very great hosts well visit again when in area
Friendly owners,clean and good breakfast.
The owners were lovey. Very welcoming and friendly. The room was really comfortable and plenty big enough for us with our 1 month old baby
Good sized room - although it was a disabled room, it was very comfortable. It was great to have a key for out of hours entrance too and the shower was Fab! Tea at breakfast was the best I've had in a hotel!
Food .company . Location , friendly staff , nd homely
Easy to find (location); separate en-suite/Bathroom ( stayed in Room 3 ) very large and shower good; lots of 'storage' space in room; above-bed reading lights with switches; Good traditional breakfast, nicely cooked;
ACCESS on arrival - having to carry heavy bags through main 'pub' lounge past residents/diners/other guests, despite rear (fire) door availability providing more discreet ( and more direct) room access; Limited menu choice for 'repeated' evening dining options; lack of 'attention' after initial breakfast ordering ( eg; 2 half-slices of white toast & 2 half-slices of brown toast provided initially - but without choice, or further option to 'replenish' ); View from room (though not a 'problem' ) ; NOTE: Apart from the 'access' comment, these other comments are only additional minor observations, and not real 'dislikes' .
Everything was spot on for a small family run hotel. Very clean, breakfast was excellent, and they were very accommodating for a very late arrival time. Lovely place to stay as a base for exploring West Wales.
The breakfast was excellent. The whole place was immaculate.
Large ensuite family room, breakfast included. Picturesque bridge over river. Also in the village, there is a petrol station with a small shop. Children's playground near village hall (and Fish & Chip shop). Close to Cilgerran Castle and Cardigan ( Aberteifi). Visit nearby Poppit Sands, especially at low tide.
Not good value - paid extra £35 per night for an extra child's bed, but the mattress was so uncomfortable my daughter slept on the floor the first night. Owner did try and pad it with a blanket the second night.
Very friendly hosts. They were very welcoming and made you feel st home.
The couple who own the Carpenters Arms could not be more accommodating, helpful, kind or tolerant. They did everything they possibly could to help us - great with children and wonderful with my mother who has lots of mobility problems. The ground floor room with disability access is great. Breakfast fantastic. Large v clean rooms, comfy beds.
Nice clean comfortable room and good breakfast.
Very poor internet connection in our room.
Excellent food and homely atmosphere.
relaxed atmosphere good food good value for money

Very spacious and comfortable room. A pleasant environment, with helpful and friendly proprietors.

The double bed was soft! we prefer a hard orthopedic bed especially as we were staying in a disabled room
