The Bulkeley Hotel is yards from the beach and pier alongside the Menai Straits. It enjoys stunning views across the water to the mountains of Snowdonia.
Score from 394 reviews Very good
The food was excellent and the staff very helpful.
The many stairs
good sized rooms and bathroom. all very clean and well furnished. bed was very comfortable. staff were helpful and friendly. the food we had was well presented and tasted fab. all locally sourced.in all a lovely hotel in a lovely location, will definitely recommend to others.
Fab room ,lovely location, brilliant value, friendly staff
That we only had one night there !
Very comfortable bed Delicious breakfast Peace and quiet
Friendly helpful staff Good food Value for money Would stay again
room comfort and staff
room lighting and lack of WI FI
The staff, helpful and friendly. The food /service Good bar Accessibility both to Isle and mainland Comfy bed
Rooms a bit tired along with stair, could do with an update. Access to bedroom was a bit of a trail up and down stairs.disabled people would have to clearly explain there needs as the hotel might struggle to meet them.
Restaurant and quality of food
Access to rooms for slightly mobile impaired. 36 steps to bedroom!
The location was good for sightseeing on Anglesey .
The distance we had to walk with our cases to the room .
Staff where friendly enough. Great location for travelling around north Wales and Anglesey.
Very difficult to move around with a pram. Even though the room was technically on the ground floor there are 3 flights of stairs to negotiate. No lift.
I liked the location & the downstairs reception/bar/restaurant as very nicely refurbished. The stairs & corridors to the rooms are a bit shabby, but the rooms themselves are lovely. Comfy bed, nice & quiet.
The breakfast was a bit bog-standard & uninspired. Tinned pears & prunes not my idea of fresh fruit. Little bar of soap in bathroom annoying, prefer shower gel.
A nice comfy hotel with plenty of parking
Located under motorway, breakfast too expensive
Room size. Small bathroom .
We stayed here as we walked to the peak snowdon. When arrived we were greeted by a friendly and helpful member of staff. The hotel is really lovely, fab location. The only downside to our stay was that our room was a little to small and right on the landing so we could hear the doors opening and closing aswell as people going up and down the stairs. We enjoyed an evening meal in the resteraunt which again was nice then followed with a few hours in the bar. We would definetly recommend and return if we were in the area again...although I would request not to be put in that room again
The room was right on the landing so could hear alot of noise
Staff very helpful. Restaurant excellent. Breakfast choice very good.
Wifi was a problem if you have a room at the rear.
Rooms were comfortable and clean and staff friendly and helpful.
The price for being so close to Britannia Bridge is that you can hear the traffic.
Spotless, large room, very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Great location, two minutes to A55 expressway and 5 minute walk down to the Menai Straits.
Locking the main door after 12 am
Nice hotel, with comfortable rooms and good food. Staff were very friendly and helpful including making restaurant reservations for us. Location particularly convenient just by the Menai bridge and near attractive Beaumoris.
Only criticism was lack of disabled access. There were steps up to the entrance and there was no lift. Slight hinderance for my 89 year old father, but didn't spoil our trip.
Breakfast very poor. Clearly understaffed, we helped clear own own table. Excuse was everyone turned up at once. Fruit gone, no bread for toast, limited cereal. Had to wait ages for cooked breakfast. I went in search for someone to take our order. The cooked breakfast to be fair wasn't bad when it eventually arrived.
The position of the hotel is excellent for access to the north of the island and Snowdonia.
The staff are young and not interested/helpful. The hotel looks tired in the corridors and bedrooms.
The food was great and dining in the snug was pleasant. Very reasonable prices. Room and bed both comfy.
The hotel was very busy on the Sunday and the kitchen was a little overwhelmed, we had a long wait for breakfast. Not a biggie but a little annoying at the time.
Reasonably comfortable and quite clean
Bar was shut when I returned at 10.30, hard poached eggs with my miniscule peice of smoked haddock and only 2 of the 4 slice toasetr worked.
Very friendly staff and great location to use as base to explore.
Staff in the reception.
Staff in a restaurant.
