We booked this Hotel because we were there on a dance weekend, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. It was in a nice quiet area so our sleep wasn't disturbed. It was only about 10 mins at the most drive into the shopping centre. On foot the beach was probably a good 20 mins walk. On one of the mornings the hotel had problems with electric in the restaurant and had to resort to providing breakfast in the lounge. This must have been a nightmare for the duty manager but he and his staff coped wonderfully. We had stayed at this hotel before, about 4 years ago. Then the food was excellent but we were very dissapointed with the quality of the food this time. The starters and desserts were acceptable but the main meal I'm afraid was pretty dismal. Breakfast was ok but I would have liked a better choice of fresh fruit/croissants and better coffee that didn't taste like it had been stewing for hours. Although our room was very clean there was evidence of very poor repair jobs. Also the bath panel was split and the shower was either scalding or cold. Would I stay here again? Only if it was another weekend dance break. To entice me for a week they would definately need to improve their food.

Convenience and elderly parents enjoyed it. Not a hotel I would choose personally if travelling on own as everything a little outdated however price reasonable. Not keen on lifts or narrow corridors. Decor a little worn in places however it had a typical seaside hotel feel about it.I wouldn't recommend this hotel to younger friends but older relatives would enjoy.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage allowing me to unpack completely for the length of my stay, which is helpful when it's work every day. Bt Openzone availability is helpful. The Freeview died one evening, meaning the 24-hour new channels were not available.

Hotel reception staff were fairly pleasant. Shower in bathroom did not work. Bathroom generally in poor state of repair. Very slow restaurant service at dinner time, lack of choice in restaurant.

The staff - particularly the guy at the front desk. Helpful, friendly, flexible - they are a huge asset to the hotel. The breakfast was fine and the beds were very comfortable. The tv in the room (102 I think we were in) was in a really silly position ( so you had to move chairs and sit in front of it to see it. It was a wee bit shabby and run down eg tears in the curtains that surely wouldnt have taken much time or money to repair. The coffee - at £2.50-wasnt very nice and you didnt get much of it.

The hotel is very tired and in massive need of modernisation. Not comfortable and the walls are so thin that you can hear other guests in the corridors and other rooms. Chamber staff were ignorant or could not speak English.

Was pleasently surprised by this hotel as the photos do not do it justice. We stayed in a family room and it was huge and comfortable although the heating was extreme and there are no safety catches on the windows. The staff were polite and helpful and a big thumbs up for the breakfast (even my fussy children loved it) without a doubt this will be my hotel choice next time were in bournemouth. The heating in the room was over the top and there are no safety catches on the windows which open really far. Not good for a first floor family room with small children.

The hotel was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent. Only stayed for a couple of days whilst taking son back to university. Only a 20 minute walk to town centre . Would stay again Changing rooms for swimming pool were awful !!

Shabby and run down. Although the staff were very pleasant, no one really seemed to know what was going on or take responsibility, especially in the restaurant.

The day we left Our room (No. 3) had tears in the curtains and a hole in the floor covered by carpet. The corner of the room was black and damp. The bathroom was covered in black mildew. There was no full length mirror. The food was also pretty grim and nothing at this hotel came close to what we have previously experienced at this particular group of hotels. We immediately asked for a different room and were offered Room 9 which was equally depressing. We did not stay for the 8 nights we had arranged but left after 3. We wondered if it was because we had booked on the internet that nothing better was offered and as we were celebrating an anniversary it was particularly disappointing. I should however mention that this was during the busy season but if rooms aren't up to standard they should be left empty. Needless to say we will not be staying at a Forestdale Hotel again and as we have stayed in various others over the years and have also recommened them to friends this is quite sad. This may sound like a complaint but you have asked what I didn't like!!!

The room was good value for us as we had 2 children in the same room Breakfast was good The room was a little on the 'tattie' side. The room was very hot and we had no way of cooling it down when we spoke to the reception all they could offer was a fan (if they could find one) which they did late in the day, but in time for bed!

We found the hotel verybcomfortable and the breakfast had lots of choices with as much as you wnted to eat. Our 3 children enjoyed the table tennis and swimming pool. Very helpful staff. Rooms were hot. We had fans but unfortunately the radiator in my husbands room would not turn off so he had to have a fan on constantly, the staff offered to move him but had no suitable rooms as we needed a triple room for my husband and 2 children so he put up with it.
