The Riviera Hotel is in a peaceful location, looking out over the trees of Alum Chine to the bay.
Score from 657 reviews Very good
In a quiet part of East Cliff, this clean, friendly hotel is just a short walk from Bournemouth's beaches and town center. It has spacious rooms, a restaurant, a vibrant bar and free parking.
Score from 1393 reviews Very good
near everything and nice hotel
didnt like being woken up at 2am for a false alarm and not one sorry
The room was large and warm
decor old fashion and furniture well pasted its best. Shower/ controls all corroded and stiff to use. Bed very noisy and uncomfortable
Good location. Convenient for all amenities.
Offered half board
The hotel was used by workman who came in the bar swearing and stinking kids were coming in all the time with bags of booze then wondering round hotel drunk would never go back cheap hotel and you get what you pay for
Clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Great value.
Supplied duvet makes it far too warm in bed. Really needs a choice of bed covering.
room was warm. good wifi reception.
The location of the room on the hotel. just beneath the groud level. labyrintic hallway there. Poor TV reception. No towels for bath. Noisy people around.
location, value for money
shower not working properly, no water pressure, wifi not working
The bed was comfortable, the staff were very pleasant and the breakfast!
The water pressure in the bathroom. having a shower was a challenge....wasn't the end of the world though.
Place needs a good clean
Nothing at all
The room . The hotel was dirty smokers heaven. Fag butts outside my bedroom window and empty beer bottles. The bed look like they had made it out of 4by2. The carpet had god knows what on it. Shocking
Had to wait forever to checkin. Lack of interest from receptionist. Two broken lamps in room, very dark. Reported but no action taken. Taps in bathroom need limescale remover. Bins hadnt been emptied from previous guest. No reply when dialling down to reception.
Pet friendly. Bedding and bathroom clean
Disgusting litter bin overloaded with cigarette butts just by front door to hotel(really disgusting) and 2 unfortunate looking people who may have been hotel guests or not one of whom had his shoes off and looked like he was high on all sorts. They must have been visible to reception staff but no one took any iniative to move them on. Fine if you want people to pay to stay in a shelter for the homeless which would be a good experience for everyone to have but not for someone to make money out of it!
Everything really, the food was excellent, linen changed frequently, loads of hot water, and as we were staying in January thank goodness it was lovely and warm in all parts of the hotel. Staff were all friendly and eager to help.
Radiator not working in our bathroom. The car park needed attention and the cigarette buts on the ground around the entrance did not reflect the cleanliness inside the hotel.
If you enjoy serious backache from terrible beds and a light drizzle from your hugely underpowered shower and want to stay in a cold damp room that hasn't been decorated since the 80's then this is the place for you. My two highlights of my four night stay have to be the clientele, especially the gentleman in the bar in a track suit gleefully overtly grabbing himself every time a woman walked near him and also the maid who felt it acceptable to walk into the room early in the morning without nocking regardless of whether there was a 'do not disturb sign' up or not. I can only hope that seeing me as nature intended every morning made her day slightly brighter.
the hotel is clean staff are good the bathroom floor was tiled in front of the sink lots of tiles were loose and broken parts missing it is a health and safety issue
We enjoyed the swimming pool.
Very nice hotel, a little tired in places but overall very good.
Price, great value weekender. Quiet location not to everyone's liking. Plenty of free parking.
2nd floor room had low shower pressure but still useable.
You get what you pay for. Food good and plenty of it. Rooms very warm
Decor a little dated Only one towel in the room, but apart from that -Happy Days!
Room, courtesy of staff, cleanliness, General ambience, bar area.
Wifi was limited to a max amount of users who selfishly left their devices on when they went out As a result, we couldn't get online.
Large Hotel, Swimming Pool and Table tennis table. Buffet food for Breakfast and Evening meal, good selection. Bar snack menu, sarnies etc was A1 and good value but service slow.
Too many foreign staff. I stay in an English Hotel and I like staff to be English. You had to buy a voucher to have a meal. One evening we had to queue for about 10 mins to buy vouchers. Buffet food is not piping hotel a Microwave in the restaurant would be a good idea.
Pool out of order.
Swimming pool wi fi fantastic breakfast and reasonable restaurant prices
Disabled acsess entry not adequate not enough disabled parking facilitys no rooms available on ground floor when I placed on booking hotel needs redecorating very dated tv on the wall very small and to far away no towels in the room lots could be improved also confusing corridors and room numbers
