Isolated though easily found countryside position in valley once ravaged by lead mining. Enjoyable individually cooked evening meals just for me.
Depressing dimly lit lounge. No towel rail or ring, shelf or whatever to put anything down in the ensuite shower room. Hairbrush, toothbrush and all such bathroom necessities had to go on windowsill across tiny landing. Not even space on the sink for a bar of soap. Tedious.
very quiet location. clean room and bedding. lovely helpful staff. good value breakfast.
smoke alarm wires hanging out. large green fire light on in room all night. off-putting skip full of rubbish in carpark.
Room was modern and clean; liked the purple linen/towels; bed was comfortable; very quiet location.
Wifi was unavailable in room; no mobile service available; double room was small and bathroom very small
Beautiful scenery, friendly welcome, warm and comfortable room
SatNav sent us up a steep windy road, would have been horrible in the dark or bad weather Missed out on breakfast as it is served later on Sundays
Location was good for travelling from England to far north. It was easy to follow local directions to access motorway north. Beautiful scones and scotch pancakes for breakfast.
restricted meal choice, especially if you are veggie or arrive late.
Lovely open fire in lounge and beautiful countryside.
Very pleasant staff on arrival, room was clean and shower worked well. Sky tv channels, plenty of tea and coffee. Great breakfast and an open fire in the lounge and bar
Wifi was patchy in places. No mobile signal (still not decided if thats good or bad tho ;-))
Nice quiet location good for walking cycling or driving adventures. Friendly staff who will assist you if necessary . Meals provided if you require them. A very refreshing environment compared to busy towns or cities.
Could have provided a small refrigerator in the room .
The facilities were very good, particularly for a two star hotel. I was made welcome by down to earth people. There are plans in place to further improve the facilities.
Nowhere is perfect however there was nothing about my stay with which I would pick fault.
Friendly staff. Recently renovated. Quiet. Comfortable.
Not a lot
The location of the hotel. The friendliness of the staff.
Room a bit small
Stunning location and the staff were brilliant, very welcoming and made us feel comfortable will definitely return and reccomend
Staff very friendly and accommodating - we arrived very late and left early so made little use of the venue at all
The bar had shut when we arrived (shut at 8pm) and the place was deserted/extremely quiet. We had to leave before breakfast served
dog friendly, lovely staff pretty location, good breakfast - either the full cooked or the continental
Very clean, very helpful and friendly proprietors - I ended up dragging them out of bed at 11pm due to getting lost en route and they couldn't have been kinder or more helpful - will definitely use this guest house in the future. I had a young baby with a medical condition with me and he was catered for as well as previously arranged. Many thanks, highly recommended! E.D.
Very warm welcome, good food open fire. Home from home very comfortable.
Friendly and most helpful staff.
The old fashion friendliness, good meals, clean rooms, friendly people.
Rooms were a bit on the small side.
