Cary Court - Guest House  

It was really good! Your host provides you with amazing tours, whether to Dartmoor or along the coast. You should trust him entirely as to this. The rooms are very comfortable and atmopheric. Cary court itself is nicely located as well. All in all, it is worth staying there.

Paul/Linda were the best hoast's that you could wish for. Very informative and credit to detail. Nothing was to much trouble. My wife & I were given advice about the Local area. + Local cabs I would recomend Torbay Cab company Car Number 20, Name Trevor.If you would like good food call Rob 01803 200 770 Fantastic. Cary Court is a lovely Victorian seaside residence and it retains many original features. The bedroom was quite spacious and looked out over the garden, pool and the sea in the distance. The communal areas are comfortable and we were encouraged to use them for relaxing, reading and having a quiet drink after a busy day. It is not a licenced premises, but you can keep your own drinks in the fridge!Our hosts, Paul and Linda, were very welcoming and attentive, with lots of ideas about places to visit and to eat out. Breakfasts were excellent. Cary Court is a bit of a climb up from the harbour, as is most of Torquay, but there are arrangements in hand if you feel like taking a cab in either direction! In fact, it only takes a few minutes to go down to the town, a bit longer to get back up! We enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Cary Court to others.

Personal preference - the mattress could have been more supportive, but it didn't stop us sleeping!

From start to finish Paul and Linda were warm, friendly and very professional throughout our stay. We were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely, the room was great, bed was extremely comfortable. Our hosts were very helpful and Paul has a great sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing romantic break.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great garden and nice balcony. Good location for shopping and experiencing Torquay and Devon. Steep hill, but good exercise! Will absolutely recommend and hopefully come back.

They couldn't cook an egg for breakfast! (otherwise excellent assortment of hot and cold food)

The whole ambience of the hotel was so conducive to rest and relaxation. In addition to the sumptuous surroundings, we were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay. With such great hosts (Linda and Paul were most attentive); lovely breakfasts, (with lots of options); beautiful gardens (inc. Swimming pool); a very pleasant stay is assured. We would not hesitate to recommend the Cary Court to anyone.

We loved everything about this hotel, but felt that a more modern flat- screen tv in the room would have been a worthwhile plus.

Hosts Paul and Linda made us feel extremely welcome during our stay and were very helpful in offering information on the resort and surrounding areas. The room was extremely clean and spacious and food was great too! A very enjoyable stay and when visiting again I will certainly use Cary Court again!

Das Cary Court Guesthouse ist eine ruhige Oase im doch recht trubeligen Torquay. Es liegt zentral - man ist in wenigen Gehminuten am Hafen mit seinen Lokalen -, aber in einer sehr ruhigen Seitenstraße. Vorallem der Garten mit seinen Palmen, Bananenstauden und dem swimmingpool ist traumhaft. Man kommt sich vor wie in den Tropen (nur die Temperaturen sind kühler). Das frisch zubereitete Frühstück ist abwechlungsreich und lecker (das English breakfast auch mit Räucherlachs). Von den von uns angemieteten Zimmern ist vor allem "Atlantic Ocean" mit Blick auf den Garten empfehlenwert (ebenso Nachbarzimmer Carribian Ocean). Es lohnt den Mehrpreis gegenüber den günstigeren Zimmern im hinteren neu angebauten Teil des Hauses (Sea of Japan, Arabien Sea), die auf den Hof hinausgehen, zu denen man durch einen verwinkelten, etwas muffigen Gang gelangt und die auch nicht über die Deckenhöhe und den Charme des alten Gebäudes verfügen. Die gemeinschaftlich genutzten Wohnbereiche sind sehr gemütlich und die Inhaber sehr freundlich und hilfbereit. Man wir umfassend mit Ausflugstipps versorgt. Unsere Kinder hatten vorallem am Pool viel Spaß. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert!

Zeer vriendelijk onthaal, met goed advies over bezienswaardigheden. Mooi en gezellig huis. Zeer goed ontbijt. Zeer goed bed. Werden door eigenaars zeer goed verdergeholpen bij bandenpech!

Geen klachten. Wel even vermelden dat gedeelte van het huis waar wij gelogeerd waren en kamer wel een beetje muf/vochtig rook.

Everything was very clean and tidy. Felt like in a kind of family because the owners treated us very well an were very kind to us and supportive. The garden is amazing and you feel like in a little paradise. The Victorian styled house is very beautiful and you can find even on rainy days enjoyable corners

It is not really a critic but breakfast could a bit more vary. Generally there is not critic because with the hotel everything was very good and it is absolutely a recommendation without doupts.

The staff were very welcoming and had an excellent knowledge of things to do in the local area, they also gave us money saving vouchers and tips! Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day ahead. Good location as we could walk in to Torquay for drinks and not worry about who was driving or expensive taxi ride home.
