Staff were friendly and helpful. Location leafy and secluded. Nice outdoor deck area. Adequate parking.
Bedrooms a bit tired and cramped. Juices had been laid out for breakfast the night before, rather than being kept in the fridge, and had turned.
Small rooms Noise Uncomfortable beds Breakfast
Warm welcome. The staff, all the ones we met were just delightful. A real credit to the hotel.
The room we had was very, very tired. Chipped paint, chipped furniture, mould in the grout of the bathroom tiles, worn out taps, poor shower. That said the towels and linen were spotless and we had a good night´s sleep.
The room was spacious and well-equipped. The restaurant was ideal for an anniversary dinner; not over-priced for the food quality and with cheerful, helpful staff. There was a wedding in progress, but this was cleverly kept away from the ordinary guests, and did not affect our evening.
The decor was initially off-putting; everything seemed beige and rather tired. We felt that a lot could have been done (cheaply) with some bright 'set dressing' such as cushions. Once you got used to it, it was fine - after all, hotels can hardly redecorate annually!
I am afraid it was a dissappointing stay.
Staff and service were poor.
Evening meal and rooms Cosy and comfortable
Only two small things the push button bath plug let the water out and I couldn't fill .. So had shower instead. No morning paper as ordered Otherwise sublime
Comfortable good size room. Location.
Very noisey room, the ceiling / floor above was creaking with every movement of the neighbour, not welcome at 1am!
Lovely personable welcome to both hotel and restaurant. Fabulous food and service in restaurant, very decent breakfast. Bed small but comfortable.
Room and bathrom in need of update. Standard of accommodation lets the side down.
Modern shower-room which needed a few more fittings to make it more guest friendly.
Only lukewarm water in basin/shower TV remote did not work Room looked a bit tired Reception staff not smiling !! No fresh air - could not open ventaxia
Slightly dated room, however quite new modern bathroom, so hopefully it's on a list!
Bathrooms and general decor really tired and no sausages in breakfast buffet however on plus side staff in breakfast really nice and smiley
Staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating. The place has a lot of character, no 2 rooms are alike, but is updated and feels new and clean. The food was excellent also. It was a very relaxing stay!
24 hour check in. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was tasty although it was shut promptly at 10am. We arrived at 9.30 am and the eggs, sausages etc were not replenished.
We arrived to check in at midnight (having spent all day at a wedding) to find the room ridiculously hot. We did find a fan in the room but as I rang ahead and told them we would be arriving late it would have been nice if the windows could have been opened. There were no amenities in the room - shower gel, cap, not even a bottle of water or a pen. The room was tired looking. At £92 for the night i would have expected these small details to be included - I have stayed in hotels in this area for around the same price that also have spa and leisure facilities so the price was disapointing.
Staff were excellent, food was very good and the location was perfect.
Old fashioned, tired and poorly maintained accommodation. Bathroom had mould in shower, with paint peeling off the bathroom. Overall this aspect needs to be brought into the 20th century....
Staff were very friendly and efficient .
I thought the standard of the restaurant food was ok but not great .
the service was very good from check in to bar and restaurant. the bed was really comfy and that means more than how lovely the bed spread is. I enjoyed the food in the restaurant and at breakfast they made perfect soft boiled eggs.
The room was large and airy with room to both relax and to work. Very comfortable
Clean beds comfy
Staff Attitude dreadful. I booked a double executive room in Feb this year to attend a family wedding in July. The room we were given was a small room in the eves with one window..nothing like the picture on your web-site. We asked for a room change to the one we booked and were told if you dont like it go elsewhere!! My daughter who is a manager for a large italian restaurant complained and we got a room change to the room we booked (there were three empty like the one we booked) we know this as we were given a choice from three empty double exce rooms.. we were given a bottle of wine to apologise..on my daughters insistence..The day of the wedding the water and electric went off..we were treated with total indifference by staff ...we had to buy water to wash with and find a hairdresser that could fit us in last minuite. (perfection hair salon brilliant!!) My brother his family and my uncle and aunt travelled from southampton the morning of the wedding..it was a very hot day.. they were told they could not book in to rooms as computer was down.neither could they have a drink as the tills were down too ...it didnt seem to occur to them to use paper and pen to keep tally for the till...the night of the wedding the electric still off ..we left the wedding to book them in and were told still no electric and to go somewhere else!! no advice as to where other hotels were in the area they didnt think to communicate with other hotels to help us out. When we booked out the duty manager told us she was aware there had been problems and was ready to deal with any complaints which meant that as it was not their fault we would not be getting a reduction and they would not pay for the hairdressing bill..after it was pointed out to them that we had bought a service from them and they couldnt provide it to us PLUS they would be insured and able to be compensated for their loss of income did the duty manager agree to discount my bill . However others were not so lucky...
The restaurant manager worked hard under very difficult circumstances .
Flithty room , no fire exit and assembly signage in room (breaking health and safety rules 1974 ) electric iron in room test out of date, once again breaking H&S rules. No drinking water in room. Shower totally inadequate . Milk carton on tea tray out of date by six months . No wardrobe at all in room, this was the top of the range room. So much old dirt and food down the side of the sofa had to be hoovered, revolting. My wife and I travelle all over the UK and have four business and will ensue that clients do not stay at this or any other venue that is associated to this venue. Staff have little or know knowledge of client care .
all of it
One of the woman on reception could do with a course on customer service, she needs to be reminded that without customers they would not need staff. The rest of the staff were excellent. sorry I should have got her name.
Very clean, friendly staff, food very good.Overnight stay whilst visiting my daughter 6 mls away. Will stay there again.
Free wi-fi, good food, clean and friendly.
Room a little small, and could do with climate control.
Great food but accommodation not brilliant.
