Peaceful setting, friendly and helpful owner
Very clean, lovely gardens, helpful friendly staff even tried to get us a discount into Chatsworth House. You could choose breakfast and time the night before. Great experience would visit again.
Bed was a double so a it a bit snug.
Everything about cascade gardens we have already decided we want to go back next year the same weekend and the wife's brother and sister and there partners want to come as well a first class place to stay and the food was fantastic Mr and Mrs Stanger
Everything. Room was lovely, bedding to die for. Host was welcoming and friendly. Excellent location, great breakfast.
A little cold in the room to start with.
Really friendly hosts
Loved this place so much, stayed in the India Room for two nights. Amazing bathroom, bed is very comfy. The two owners are really kind and helpful. Would recommend going to The Barley Mow on a weekend, full of characters and great fun!
Lack of attention at breakfast and poor food. Cold and not enough to fill you.
The position of the hotel and garden. Comfort of the bed and good quality duvet. Good breakfast. Owners and Jack, the new kitten.
Some maintenance issues needed attention - taps on the move, short lead & aerial socket for television which meant the tel went off when we pulled the curtain, curtains too long and dragging on floor.
Quiet room, nice spacious bathroom, comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast, nicely presented.
Difficult to find & awkward entrance, tricky parking, no reception & no answer to the door for several minutes. Would prefer individual tables for breakfast, rather than sharing with other guests. Guest house seems very cluttered with artefacts (including bedroom).
A very interesting, comfortable and stylish place to stay. Lovely village location with two pubs nearby. Fascinating water featured gardens. Excellent breakfasts, and a warm welcome from the owners with helpful information available. Great position from which to set out to explore the Dales, the mills and the stately homes.
we liked the little things that a lot of people would take for granted, like the shampoo and shower cream, shower caps, reading lamp, books, the choice of breakfast the night before so there was no waiting around.
The only thing that we thought should have been was bedside table touch lamps. The ones we had were very bright.
Bedroom was extremely comfortable. Great choice of drinks available. Good location. Lovely breakfast.
Fantastic location, great breakfast and lovely interesting staff and owner
Comfortable and beautiful room and helpful and friendly owners.
Nice friendly people and great breakfasts
The friendly welcome and the helpfulness of Alan and Alesia, their property is amazing and a testament to their hard work. We stayed in the garden suite which was lovely, words cannot do it justice, but the house itself was fantastic I loved the decor and the original art. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed chatting to the other guests round the dining table.
I enjoyed everything about the stay at cascades, next time I visit I would like to see the garden in summer, as it was being prepared for spring
We stayed in the garden annexe, a self contained and comfortable suite. Set within the delightful gardens. A varied breakfast menu cooked to order was spot on. Pleasant and helpful owners made us welcome. Just right!
Tight vehicle access for the property from the road. The onlycomment about the room would be to change the two easy chairs for a smaller two seater to allow more space...
Very comfortable , exceptionally clean great breakfast very friendly hosts
Themed decor in good taste. Great bathroom. Endless hot water. Iron produced within seconds. Lovely range of room beverages. Wonderful bed and hence a good sleep. Excellent breakfast with much choice. Warm, welcoming hosts.
Could not fault the accommodation or the food, the hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Location was great for travelling and sightseeing
We stayed in the Garden Suite which is in a separate building to the main house. The Garden Suite had a spa bath and a wonderfully comfortable bed. As the name suggests, it was situated at the entrance to the garden and was opposite the Cascade from which the property gets its name. The breakfasts were ample and of very good quality and the hosts were friendly and informative. We were lucky as the weather was very good for a late September stay.
Owing to the lack of rain for the last few months, the cascade was not operational as the water table was too low. It may bother some guests that there was no wi-fi available in the Garden Suite but the peace and quiet of the location more than made up for it. If it worries you, book a room in the main house, where wi-fi is free.
Overall very pleasant stay Delicious breakfast Meeting other guests at breakfast table Toiletries in the Bedroom Interesting pictures in the Tibet room
Difficult to turn car round in drive to avoid reversing out onto road Limited street lighting if you want to walk to nearest pub at night
Friendly and helpful owners. Large comfortable bedroom. Unusual fascinating gardens.
Nobody there when we arrived - key and instructions left in box by door. Although very good there was lack of much choice for breakfast.
Alan and Alesia were excellent hosts. One day, Alan took the trouble to drive us to the start of a walk so we did not have a long climb to get there. Great breakfast. Excellent garden where we bought a lot of plants. Highly recommended.
Fantastic location, where you feel very welcome by the hostess. Great breakfast. Very good pubs and coffee nearby.
May be a little bit of TLC to the plumbing....
