Location very good breakfast good helpful management nice quiet room - vg double glazing
Spacious room Nicely furnished Balcony was a added surprise
Noise from the street and room above (lots of youths shouting in the street until 4am) Bathroom was a bit small No shampoo or conditioner Pillows a bit lumpy
Being upgraded to a superior room after finding that mattress in original one was damaged.
Dark, slightly scuffy room 10
A relaxing hotel
Location and staff very friendly
Clean, very comfortable beds, staff very friendly and helpful, central location, good parking. Would go again, but eat out.
Food. Dull and uninspiring, mass catering. All food appeared to be bought in, frozen and warmed up. The same menue in all Green King establishments, probably from one kitchen and sent to all hotels. No Al-a-carte.
Staff friendly, quick efficient check-in, casual atmosphere, very good car parking facilities, meals excellent value for the money. Not overcrowded, good lounge and bar WILL STAY AGAIN
No Wadworth 6x beer available on our stay. Television at awkward angle to view from beds in room 31 Could do with a light/lamp at the window side of room where the fridge is. Water leak in ceiling in corridor outside room 32 needs immediate attention
Location of the hotel and its historical associations. Very good breakfast.
Lack of real ale in the bar and very disappointing evening meal on the 12th October. Only 5 pieces of beef in my casserole and the soup was straight out of the microwave-far too hot.
The reception and dining area staff were friendly and efficient. The meals were good and the bedroom was comfortable. Car parking was also well placed.
The cleaning staff entered our room while we were dressing. There was a knock and no wait for our reply before the door opened. It was also well before the time we were due to vacate the room.
The thin duvet, leaving me very cold for the first night. Bought a hot-water bottle for the second night and slept better.
Parking good. Breakfast nice but on the small side. My room was a decent size.
Booked 2 rooms and parents room was a lot smaller which was disappointing for the price.
Lovely old inn. Cozy. Central. Very helpful staff. Solid English breakfast.
Sadly, charming 18th century buildings don't come without creaky floorboards in the room above. Quite a bit of noise from the pub downstairs on weekend nights. WiFi requires giving personal details to external service, not really free.
The room was very hot at night and the windows didnt open
The place had a friendly atmosphere
The room was very warm for late Sept and we didn't realise we had a fan we could have used
Location is wonderful right in the centre of Marlborough with all it's lovely shops and restaurants.
The location was ideal to access the town and the staff were excellent during our stay.
Car park was rather busy and had no spaces when we arrived.
The old building and the friendliness of the staff. Also the ease of parking. In most places in England the lack of parking drove us to distraction. It is not a problem at home.
Getting our bags up the stairs and then down again the next morning. Not a real complaint. As we like staying in old pubs having winding passages and sloping stairs is to be expected.
Good position right in middle of town Very friendly and helpful staff at breakfast
Expensive compared to other hotels booked on booking.com Lots of dogs around in bar, not good if you are allergic to them . Very dusty on stairs and bedroom also gave impression of having had animals staying
A real coaching inn that knows how to take care of its guests. Faultless
Location, staff very friendly, restaurant ok
In our room two lightbulbs needed to be changed, minor, but important
The fact that it was in the High Street, very central. Food was good.
Room very small and basic with no character. Very warm. No toilet brush no proper soap, flannels or shower cap. There was no lift and we had a lot of stairs to climb. I had a bad back so this was not good.
The staff were excellent if seemingly overworked! They were very pleasant and helpful. Only had breakfast there which was very adequate. Helpful when we had a difficult assent to top floor as my husband has difficulty with stairs. Ended up on top floor but using back stairs. I fell and ended up in hospital! Fell up step to carpark - sorted myself out but receptionist gave me some bandages initially.
The staircases to top floor. Quite dangerous we thought. Suggest maybe back stairs could be made more available to guests. If we were to come again we would ask for ground or first floor room. Suggest we should have been asked in advance because we did booked well in advance - a word when booking about position of rooms and guests requirements would be very helpful.
location, parking, bfast.
