Reasonably priced bar/ restaurant food. Well appointed room and bathroom
The " large" double bed was not very large !!
THE SUPERIOR ROOM WAS EXCELLENT, though we thought the first one we were offered was mis-described as superior.
Room Location Helpful staff Cleanliness One of the better Old English Inns
Food mediocre Out of date vouchers in directory
Position in town and parking.
Only one bedside table. Bedside light switch high up the wall-had to get on bed to switch off. Very noisy with traffic starting before 5a.m. and it was a very hot room.
Great breakfast, helpful staff, big rooms.
Noise from wedding guest coming in at 2pm.
The hotel was ideally situated in the centre of Marlborough. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean and the staff were welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great location in the High Street.Excellent staff who cant do enough to please,Well decorated hotel with extremely spacious very comfortable room.Spotlessly clean.Evening meal was very tasty and good value for money Also they serve meals until 10PM..Delicious breakfast and free parking.Nothing to dislike.
Location cosy Menu good sleep
I had booked for dinner well in advance, no record of this.dining room very noisy, couldn,t hold conversation. very dirty water came up the plughole of our bath, no one on reception to report this.
The staff at the Castle and Ball are friendly. The room was large and comfortable. There was plenty of room in the car park. Breakfast was good.
We were in a room outside of the main hotel, which was fine, but there was no carpet on the lobby floor.
rooms very basic very clean breakfast very good but overall a very good overnite stay
cups in rooms were dirty shower very cramped
Beautiful location, great Accommodation, Fantastic staff.
This was a repeat visit and was excellent.
The hotel's situation is ideal being right in the centre of Marlborough. The place has lots of character. The food was reasonably priced with plenty of choice. A great first night of our six day walk along the Ridgeway.
A little faded in places-stair carpets worn, slight mould in bathroom
The seats outside seemed to be permanently occupied by a group of noisy drinkers
Ideal location for visiting Marlborough. All members of staff were highly professional, very courteous and helpful and made our stay most enjoyable and memorable - our Canadian visitors especially liked the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Many thanks!
all save for the night noise on the first night.
breakfasts very good but supper only fair I thought.
This is a lovely hotel with a superb restaurant and really helpful staff.
Food was good. Room was spacious and airy. Shower was good. Staff were friendly.
Heard dogs barking from a room on one occasion! If your room is on the top floor, you have lots of steps.
Location Friendly staff.
I rang earlier n the evening to explain that we would be a late check in and definitely coming. We were told when we checked in however, that the receptionist had tried to call us - so not sure if our original message was passed on. Breakfast was very hectic, service slow, but once it arrived the food was good despite the fact that the waitress forgot our toast the first time it was ordered. Did show that wifi was available, but for some reason none of our devices downloaded anything.
Be aware that many of the rooms are on the front of the hotel and early morning collection of refuse and bottles can be annoying let alone the early morning traffic.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent and good value. Convenient location in lovely Market Town.
Find it very difficult to find fault.
I did not take advantage of meals but staff were helpful and the accommodation was very comfortable
The window sash was broken.
The service was spot on and you was not left waiting foe anything
Very good situation in centre of town and cheery breakfast staff.
Poor room considering we were there for four days. On top floor ( I had asked for not to many stairs)and with little clothes storage. Wifi has conditions attached which I refused to accept so it was balancing laptop outside Waitrose!!
