What is not to like room was lovely , we had Sunday lunch which was srummy and a bar meal on the evening followed by breakfast all our food was really good. All the staff were polite and helpful beautiful grounds and buildings . Only wish our room would have been in the main hall but it was still a beautiful room . Would love to stay again.
The only thing which was no fault of the hotel was some fly tipping just a little bit further down the road which doesn't look great on first approach but is in no way detrimental to the hotel stay at all
ROOM THIS TIME WAS VERY NOISY FROM BOXED WATER PIPES AND ADJOINING OCCUPANTS.
I stayed here as my friend was getting married,,was beautiful loved the gardens will stay there again
Food Beer location
Location is convenient for motorway Building and grounds are traditional and historical
No easy chair in the room
Nice Place, If your visiting Brum and you don't want to be in the city and you want a period /culture hotel not far away from the city (10 mins). Our Room in the Brew House was nice.
Staff generally poor, smile wouldn't go a miss ! (bar),Golden Rule If You are taking money off people try and smile ! Reception staff good. This place is right on the flight path to Birmingham Airport !
Good sized room. Variety of hot drinks provided. Plenty of electric sockets. Comfortable bed.
Inadequate cleanliness in bathroom. No coasters to protect the furniture from hot cups.
Location & Main Building.
I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and always been offered a room in the main building. This time I was put in the Brew House. The room overlooked the rear car park, was too hot (no air con) and I could hear every move from the room above including water running from their bathroom! If I stay again I would only do so if the room was in the main building.
Option for restaurant or bar snacks. Free internet that works is always a bonus for a business traveller.
Paid extra for a superior room, but looked like an ordinary double. No special features, stuck up two floors, with very low doors to catch your head on.
Staff were super friendly, place is full of character, Garden's are amazing. Big room's.
this is a lovely hotel.rooms are nice and big with a great garden area food not to dear and really good
down side is that its no the main flight path so you can hear planes until about 11.30pm and then about 5am not to good if you like your sleep
The building was excellent. A lot of history in those walls.
Would have like some assistance in getting our luggage to our room.
Great friendly helpful staff, free wifi, beautiful inside and out, fantastic location for somewhere near the city centre but wanting a more quiet location with great views and gardens. very quiet inside the hotel, we have used it twice and neither time could fault it in anyway. Will be going there again on our next trip to Birmingham. The rooms are very spacious with very smart bathrooms and room designs. TV in every room with freeview. Fantastic value for money, I would expect to pay triple this price to stay somewhere like this.
As there was no lift it was testy getting luggage up the stairs to our room as an older couple.
There was a lovely man who helped us up wiv our bags which was sooo lovely and we were both very great full as we both have Asthma and would have had to do at least two trips otherwise!! Unfortunately we didn't get his name!
We could not at any point log on to the Free wifi and because it was late we felt we couldn't go an ask at reception! Also when we came to check out there was Not one person about to collect our room key and no bell to press to gain anyone's attention ether! I also wanted to mention the lovely man who helped us but in the end u had to just leave the key on the desk an just leave as we had a reservation to get to!
The fact that it is a castle Dinner in the restaurant was excellent Room was comfortable Great shower Quiet
Staff could have been a little friendlier Paint pealing off the bathroom ceiling
Classic old place with modern amenities. Reasonable price.
My room was not in the main building no view and did not have a telephone in it.
age of the building and the grounds
Wifi was a little on the slow side which meant working in the evening was difficult.
Lovely features in the manor house
No restaurant open at 9pm Attitude from the receptionist on checkout
The grounds, the bar area, the gardens, the building beautiful for photos... the locality to visit the NEC, local garden centre for breakfast were brilliant, the local pub for dinner...
Our first stay should have been as important as a customer to the wedding party staying also... these guests took priority over us and other paying guests. We were told not to come down at certain times for breakfast...Why??? We actually had to miss breakfast... the bathroom windows were in a terrible disrepair, the carpets were filthy in and out to our room, nothing had been dusted...
everything else was fine
two flights of stairs not so good when carrying heavy suitcases
Location Decor Comfy bed Lovely bathroom Sunny terrace
Great value for money Great food and friendly staff
Wifi wasn't the best
The atmosphere of the hotel first class. Feels like you own your own castle. Gentlemen at the front desk a little judgemental though
