Room size , Cleanliness, Pleasant cheerful staff. Peaceful & quite
Lack of hot water
Walking distance to everything and a nice morning walk to the castle
Staff really friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.
good value, friendly staff, food good value
The cheerful and helpful staff and the excellent cooked breakfast, possibly the best I have had. Ever. Don't oversleep and miss it.
Really can't find fault. Sorry.
Right in the centre of Dollar and the staff could not do enough for you. We would certainly go back.
Only slight downside was traffic noice from the road but that is only because I am a very bad sleeper anyway. Most people might not hear it.
Used hotel as a base for attending a nearby wedding. Staff were very good about us dropping off bags before actual check-in time and collecting keys as we knew we would be late back. Breakfast was great. Seemed like nice area to explore and would go back again to do this.
friendliness of staff good choice of breakfast.
would have liked tea/coffee making facility in room.
staff were very helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel is in a lovely location and there is a cafe closeby which does amazing home baking
Many thanks to all of the staff, very friendly and so helpful, from the owners to the bar staff. Thank you all very much.
Good old fashioned service, lovely cosy homely atmosphere, great cosy ambience in bar and lounge, warm friendly staff, lovely old inn in lovely village, lovely breakfast and table service - so much better to stay here than in a plastic cardboard mainstream hotel.
Took us a while to work out how to use the shower - but that's because we're used to australian showers
The location and area was very good. The food both evening meal and breakfast were good. The hotel had everything you needed to have a comfortable stay.
The outside appearance of the building is disappointing and in need of attention - upgrading. It certainly and does not reflect the type of stay you experience when you get inside and the excellent staff. The room, particularly the en-suite, could do with upgrading but everything was very clean and this did not detract from our stay. I am sure that general upgrading is in the hotel's business plan.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great.
Bath took a very long time to fill but shower was great. Our bedroom door was very squeaky, it must have been annoying for other residents.
- Location, very picturesque village - Castle Campbell - The walk up the glen to the castle - Very spacious bedroom - Good breakfast & evening meal
- Bathroom could do with a bit of TLC
The hotel sites in a beautiful location with the castle and glen in easy reach by foot. The staff were really good and friendly with their approach. Dinner was reasonable in cost, the breakfast that was included; was very good indeed. Would stay again...
Rather picky in my negative, but the room I had was in need of decoration. The ceiling looked like it had a leak, the windows were in need of slight repair and the bathroom did need updating. Functionable, yes but in relation to cost 'v' more modern hotel, it fell short..
Good location staff very friendly and could not do enough for you . Good value hotel
Great location in the beautiful village of Dollar. Staff were very attentive. Evening meal was very good. Nice reception area. Good size bedroom.
Outside look deteriorated, especially the back of hotel. Shower was useless, water kept pulsing and even then it was only a trickle. No bath, not so much an issue for me and my husband but not good for my two year old. Down to taste but we hated the pink flowery bedroom and pink bathroom, don't think all the rooms are like this, think we were just unlucky. Horrible hard bed, very uncomfortable to try and sleep on.
Good room, good breakfast, good evening meal. Dollar is a very nice location and civic pride shows where- ever you walk. Beautiful walk up through the Glen to Castle Campbell. Friendly Hotel staff.
A bigger variety of fruit for breakfast would be appreciated.
Standard of the room, particularly bathroom - needs a good overhaul
Food good quality and well presented and not expensive
Daily room cleaning not serious!
Dollar is a lovely little town. So convenient for lots of sightseeing around the Borders country and we even took a great day trip to Glasgow on the train. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is delicious. Huge bedroom with lots of room and comfy beds.
Some real fruit and possibly some yoghurt would have been nice to be included with the breakfast.
The food was very poor for the price!!
Lovely atmosphere, helpful Staff warm and friendly, high quality food. Stayed at various upmarket hotels in London, Glasgow during our trip to UK, and Castle Campbell was our favourite.
I would have preferred my teenage son to be in a closer room.
