This former blacksmiths was converted into pub in 1860s. It is located in the village of Felinfach, and has picturesque views of the Black Mountains. There is ample free parking on site.

My wife has a dietary consideration which was fully accommodated. The owner, John and his son, Andrew were very interesting people and the longer our visit the more interesting our discussions in the bar over a drink. Thank you both.
We noticed that the "Specials" menu didn't change during our visit (five days) but this wasn't a problem to us as we only ate in during the evening on two occasions but may be a problem for guests eating in more often. Having said that food was of high quality.
personal service. felt like we were staying with family.
very quiet weekdays in october, but not a big problem
The staff and the food were fantastic
At night it was a little bit noisey
Owners very friendly and do anything for you superior rooms which we stayed in were very comfortable and clean the food was of excellent quality and a good choice from the menu would defiantly stay there again
genuinely friendly, nice staff. large room and bathroom. Great breakfast - boiled eggs cooked to perfection!
venetian blind filthy!
Very friendly/helpful people. Nice bar to relax and eat in. Good location for the hiking I wanted to do.
Okay, the exterior does need a little attention but it doesn't affect your stay.
Attitude and helpfulness of the people working there. Very good evening meal and breakfast-lots of options Comfy bed, clean, good car park So quiet and peaceful at night- no traffic on that bit of the A40 at night Pictures and wall hangings
Some rooms may soon need recorating
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Outside and our room did not look like any of the pictures and definitely need some updating.
The food was very good but took some time to be prepared. The host was a very hard working person and very attentive
Sadly this old place is very tired and needs a great deal of attention both on the outside and the inside. To start with a good clean at the front door with a broom would help the looks of the entrance. Sadly we have to say that we cannot recommend this facility in it's current condition. It does have old world charm if you also like neglect.
Size of bathroom Comfy bed and pillows Breakfast
The quality and up keeping of exterior building
Staff very friendly & helpful
Poor mobile phone coverage (not hotel's fault)
Friendly, helpful staff. Good food and excellent value.
Don't be put off by the look of the Inn- the outside needs some TLC! But inside the decor is fine with interesting art work on the walls.
Quirky 18th? 17th? charming coaching inn. Each room different with different colour schemes. Interesting eclectic modern art as decoration. On-site restaurant was quite satisfactory. Special orders for breakfast were cheerfully provided.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food of good quality and excellent value for money. Room and bathroom well appointed and very comfortable. A lot of money spent since our last visit several years ago!
Nothing: We went back to somewhere we stayed in several years ago, so we knew we liked it, and all the subsequent changes were improvements.
Quiet, clean, comfortable, welcoming people and good food
Our hosts John, Val and Andrew were really nice people and made us feel most welcome. The food was superb and the friendly locals in the bar added to the relaxing ambience. Our room was spacious with a huge modern bathroom. Parking was excellent
The exterior of the inn did not do it justice
The food was excellent.
The hotel was a little tired and the shower cubicle could have been cleaner.
Nice pub atmosphere with good food and beer. Good service and nice people running the show.
Bathroom could do with a bit of TLC
the staff excellent the food was top class good value all round
nothing to dislike
The owner was a lovely man, very welcoming, food was fantastic, bed was comfortable.
The bar staff could learn a lot from the owner, they were not very nice at all.
