Room nicely decorated and clean Staff friendly Decent enough breakfast All in all a good overall experience
Shower was a bit small but the water pressure was excellant Could do with supplying shower caps for those not wanting to wash hair!
Very clean. Food excellent.
The toilet/bathroom in the room we occupied had no privacy due to the fact it was only separated by a partition. This should have been made clear at the time of booking. It would be more suitable for a single person.
The staff were great, they couldn't do enough for you. I liked the cocktail menu! The beds were comfy, great shower, lovely decor and top breakfast!
- Rooms had everything you could possibly need and more (hairdryers, bath robes, plenty of mirrors) - Ample supplies of teas, coffees, and even cream milk for the coffee - Very comfortable beds - Excellent decor - Massive and tasty full English breakfast - Also enjoyed a delicious roast lamb in the restaurant - Felt like a much higher quality hotel than the price paid - Well located (castle a short walk, other restaurants close by, etc) - Family feel (all managers, staff, etc were incredibly friendly and helpful)
Bed was like a board, room was noisy. No breakfast before 7.30 so left without breakfast. They did refund £5 due to this, but if they had said 7.30 for breakfast I wouldn't have booked. Food and drink very expensive.
Eynsford is a very pretty village, although as usual in the South-East there is a lot of traffic. We found the Castle Hotel a decent B&B - the room was comfortable and the breakfast was fine. It's still being renovated, so it should be even better in the future. The staff were friendly and the whole atmosphere was pleasant.
Staff, Accommodation, Food, try the epic burger, Location and Price can be summed up by one word. Excellent!!!!
Friendly atmosphere excellent food comfortable room
Still waiting for receipt for accommodation charges have e mailed but no response need to process expense claim through business
Had a really nice time. Hotel was lovely
Only downside ... There was no bathroom door! Just an archway
We loved the setting in the village. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good too.
Welcome by staff was poor. We were told upon arrival we could not check in at 2pm but to return at 3pm. When I checked my booking it clearly stated 2pm. We were given access to a room at 2.50pm that still needed the toilet and bathroom cleaning. This took a further 25 mins to complete by the cleaner who kept reminding us it wasn't her fault as she had only been called at 11.20 to say she was working that day. The room had several spiders and spiders webs around the cornice and there was a large cross cut in the ceilings wallpaper above our headboard. We made cups of tea in the room in the morning with the hotels tea making facilities but we were unable to drink them as something had tainted the tea and it tasted awful. We ate out at a restaurant nearby in the evening we stayed at The Castle Hotel and upon our return decided to have a drink in the bar. The bar area was busy but the bar was unattended. I stood at the bar more than 5 minutes and it wasnt until I started looking around for staff that the man sitting in a chair directly behind me got up and served me. The tables in the bar area were littered with empty glasses and bottles but we moved some from one table and sat and had our drinks. We noticed whilst sitting down that the staff were drinking alcohol sitting in the window area with other people or stood outside. When my wife went to the bar to get another drink she was told it was possible for her to buy another drink but we could not consume it in the bar area and we must take it to our room. The bar area had about 15 people in it all drinking and we could not understand why? We finished our drinks and went to our room. We had closed the windows in the room before leaving for our meal out that night. Upon opening the hotel room door we were confronted by a disgusting open sewer smell from the bathroom. It was awful . We had to open the windows and door to the room for 20 mins to get rid of the smell.
Location Staff excellent
The hotel is in a nice village, it is above a restaurant/bar and they seem to serve nice food. Breakfast which was included was good.
The doors off the rooms are not easy to close without a lot of noise, during the night and early morning people check in and out and make a lot of noise this way. The room was small, and so was the bathroom. The WiFi was very bad and most of the time unusable. A better mattress would be appreciated as it was old. The carpet needs a good steam clean or a new carpet. I know I can not expect a 5 star place around London for 80 pound a night, but I do think for 80 pound it should be better.
The food was homely but costly, the beer was good.
My room was tiny, hot and although the bed was comfortable the room was not worth anything like £90. My breakfast was a joke, different chef obviously.
This is a family business and they all work very hard and are very friendly. Lovely food and lovely atmosphere in the pub. Would definitely stay here again!
very friendly staff good breakfast overall a nice stay
the room we had ,had no toilet door but that was my only problem everything else was good
Very warm and welcoming, excellant service, great food and a well run bar. Rooms nicely presented with good heating and excellant shower facilities. Off road parking. Will use again.
friendly and relaxed. delicious food. homely feel but very stylish
Nice, family run, freshly updated British hotel that has character & a nice pub/diner downstairs.
Not alot of amenities within walking distance & breakfast starts too late at 7:30am for a business traveller
Quiet but near where we had to do our business. Nice reasonably priced restaurant.
I stayed 1 night for business, the food was very good, the room was comfortable and clean and importantly I had a great nights sleep. If in the area I would stay again.
Nice country area but close to London - we parked out of the city and trained in from Sevenoaks. Host was helpful and quickly purchased some marmalade when requested!
breakfast was cooked only - no cereals it is above a hotel
Beautiful room, although I was a little cold as the heating had not been turned on. Good food too!
Not serious! When arrived, we were told the room was cancelled and given no further explanation. All the surrounding hotels were fully booked because of the Brands Hatch Masters Historic Festival so this caused tremendous trouble. The hotel continues to say we cancelled the reservation and hasn't even apologised. Terrible, I strongly recommend NOT to book here.
Newly and charmingly renovated old hotel with a very friendly and serviceminded staff and owner.
When arriving after 11 pm you have to enter via the back door however an automatic light sensor is recommended
