Close to the action in Devises; shops and the Avon river canal locks
Good size room, good meals and walking distance to canals.Friendly staff.
Parking is tight but my skilled driver managed. The second night we parked across the road and all was safe.
Friendly welcome on arrival . Comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Room was overlooking main road and a bit noisy early in the morning .
Courtesy of staff and the breakfast
Been above a nice pub
Didn't have breakfast both morning's has I had to leave at 730. They start breakfast at 8
The location was very good. It was well situated in the rather quaint town of Devizes and a good base for touring Wiltshire. Although the car park facilities were limited we had no problem parking close by.
The traffic which was heavy at times and continued during the night although to a lesser extent.
Friendly staff and good service. Rooms comfortable.Nice breakfast. Pleasant lounge for a drink and meals good.
A bit noisey being on a main road. Rooms very warm in summer. Maybe air conditioning could be installed.Duvet too warm for summer. Maybe supply a light blanket or sheet instead.
The staff were all very nice in all departments.
Located right above a busy road and adjacent to unloading bays at the local shops. Poor sleep as a result of this. Ear plugs were provided but to no avail.
On site bar Location
Staff was either warm and helpful or grouchy and distant--inconsistent. Rooms came with ear plugs because of street noise.
very friendly, helpful staff comfortable single room with ceiling fan convenient location for Devizes shops & canal/wharf breakfast; good choice, nicely cooked free wi-fi
not enough staff noise from traffic all Friday night;front of hotel on busy road no hotel car park - 2 available garages are too small & you run the risk of being blocked in public car park cost £8 per day
Large pleasant room, decent size bathroom with bath and shower, helpful friendly staff.
The food in the restaurant was poor value and disappointing. Fish of the day, trout, was a miserly piece of thin overcooked fillet. We expected a whole trout!! £13.75 plus extra to get a decent amount of vegetables was a rip off. Desserts were home made "where possible" but there seemed to be a lot which weren't. Crumble of the day turned out to be tinned peaches with a crumble topping. Come on Castle Hotel, it is a great hotel but food needs to improve to make us want to eat there again.
Breakfast, comfy bed, nice shower
Bell sounded throughout the night
Friendly staff, accommodation seemed a bit tired. Breakfast was good but tables had dead flowers in vases.
Deep bath awkward to get out of
Excellent location for the town and exploring the area. Staff friendly and helpful.
On main road, so rooms facing this way were very noisy with plenty of trucks. Rooms at back quiet but dark. Shower in room 7 had low water pressure.
We had a great welcome and a free drink because the water was off. The staff were great. The breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. I would visit again.
Lovely big room on the cool/quiet size of the building. Staff nice.
The whole place is a bit old.
Convenient to bus drop off point from London (walking distance 3 min)
Not much within walking distance
Proximity of the church clock, which rang on the quarter-hour all night. (and was about 12 yards from my bed!) Hot tap in bathroom sink hardly ran.
Staff we're pleasant and good breakfast
Overall tired and in need of a thorough clean
Very good, enjoyed everything. Food, service, roof garden. Can't fault it.
Friendly staff. Nice pub
The room we were given number 5 was most uncomfortable. It was a very hot weekend. No air conditioning just fans, The curtains were drawn when we arrived, pulled them open then quickly shut them again. The window looked out on the teraace garde, which was packed. Basically people sitting next to the window. No privacy so the curtains had to remain shut. This was in daylight, so the room was hot, dark and dismal. No one to complain to as it seemed a very busy time and the rooms were full. We had been booked a while so felt let down that we were given such a bad room. Would not go back to this hotel.
Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful & efficient.
Value for money. Friendly staff. Located in town centre. Clean
Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
Everyone on the staff were very friendly and polite.
