Score from 46 reviews Superb
The location was very good. It was well situated in the rather quaint town of Devizes and a good base for touring Wiltshire. Although the car park facilities were limited we had no problem parking close by.
The traffic which was heavy at times and continued during the night although to a lesser extent.
The staff were all very nice in all departments.
Located right above a busy road and adjacent to unloading bays at the local shops. Poor sleep as a result of this. Ear plugs were provided but to no avail.
On site bar Location
Staff was either warm and helpful or grouchy and distant--inconsistent. Rooms came with ear plugs because of street noise.
Breakfast, comfy bed, nice shower
Bell sounded throughout the night
Friendly staff, accommodation seemed a bit tired. Breakfast was good but tables had dead flowers in vases.
Deep bath awkward to get out of
Excellent location for the town and exploring the area. Staff friendly and helpful.
On main road, so rooms facing this way were very noisy with plenty of trucks. Rooms at back quiet but dark. Shower in room 7 had low water pressure.
We had a great welcome and a free drink because the water was off. The staff were great. The breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. I would visit again.
Lovely big room on the cool/quiet size of the building. Staff nice.
The whole place is a bit old.
Convenient to bus drop off point from London (walking distance 3 min)
Not much within walking distance
Proximity of the church clock, which rang on the quarter-hour all night. (and was about 12 yards from my bed!) Hot tap in bathroom sink hardly ran.
Staff we're pleasant and good breakfast
Overall tired and in need of a thorough clean
Very good, enjoyed everything. Food, service, roof garden. Can't fault it.
Friendly staff. Nice pub
The room we were given number 5 was most uncomfortable. It was a very hot weekend. No air conditioning just fans, The curtains were drawn when we arrived, pulled them open then quickly shut them again. The window looked out on the teraace garde, which was packed. Basically people sitting next to the window. No privacy so the curtains had to remain shut. This was in daylight, so the room was hot, dark and dismal. No one to complain to as it seemed a very busy time and the rooms were full. We had been booked a while so felt let down that we were given such a bad room. Would not go back to this hotel.
Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful & efficient.
Value for money. Friendly staff. Located in town centre. Clean
Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
Everyone on the staff were very friendly and polite.
There was nothing not to like
Friendly Helpful and good parking.
Shabby, needs an uplift.
Location, Friendly staff, Quiet room
Slightly tired decor in places
Friendly, helpful staff. Generous breakfast. Very convenient for town centre.
Small towels in shower room. Room was quite noisy because of main road outside.
Excellent breakfast, including service. Excellent reception personnel
- Location - Staff - Breakfast
- Late book out not registered at Hotel as requested in booking. - Tardy room cleanliness, cigarette butt on floor under bed. - The TV had once been wall mounted but was now taken off the wall. The fixing point on the wall was just filled and not painted over and the trunking was still on the wall. - Mould round tiles in bathroom - But the best bit was between 0130 - 0200 hrs on the Sunday morning the residents in room 9 entered into a noisy violent fight that i had to go and intervene in. Police were called but i (off duty Police Officer) called them off.
The breakfast, location good, bike storage, helpful staff.
the hotel probably needs a little updating.
Decent size room
No AC and floors a bit thin
Super staff, well placed hotel for access to town, really enjoyed my stay.
Might be too much road noise at the front of the hotel for some people - excellent ear plugs are provided!
