The location is ideal, ample parking. John & Janet made us feel very welcome from the onset, the quality of the full English breakfast top class,My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again should we visit the Peak District. As the sign says on the door Arrive As Strangers, Leave As Friends.

I found the reception I got very friendly and inviting. The breakfast was nice - nothing special. For a single room in high season, I found it very good value, but glad that I did not have to pay full price for a double.

At night, I could hear a neighbor snoring. Every time someone turned a tap on, I was aware of the water force in the pipes, going on intermittently until after 10pm. This is a problem that they are aware of and being looked into.

Stayed here for two nights on our weekend break to the Peak District. Quiet location with a short nice walk into the center of Matlock. The room was very modern and well equipped, we especially liked having a ceiling fan. The bathroom was large with a lovely walk in shower. Only thing missing in the bathroom was a stool. I like to sit down and dry my feet after a shower. It also may stop people walking into the bedroom with wet feet. Breakfast was delicious we had the full English both days. The sausage and bacon were particularly nice. Our hosts were charming and provided very useful information on places to eat. So great location, great room, great hosts. Would use again if we return to the Peak district.

Welcoming owners, comfortable room, good choice for breakfast. The B&B is at the end of a small road so it was very peaceful but only a short walk to the nearest pub (which does amazing food) and to the town centre.

John and Janet were very friendly and knowledgable, eager to give you advice on where is best to visit and eat/drink in the area. Lovely breakfast, loved the fresh fruit and yogurt being available to all, and it was clear if you wanted something a bit different in the way of a cooked breakfast they'd do all they could to accommodate you. Bedroom was lovely, modern, extremely clean, and the bathroom was spotless which really means a lot to me. Shower was nice and big. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Pillows were a bit uncomfortable.

Personal attention and knowledge of the local area. Excellent breakfast and as this was the 1st time we had stayed in a B&B it was certainly much more comfortable than some of the hotels we have stayed in and would certainly use Castle Green again
