Excellent breakfast, clean & comfortable room with modern bathroom facilities, but best of all the personal care we received from the owners of the Castle Hill Guest House, Emma & Alistair, was second to none! Our hosts were warm and welcoming & gave us loads of good advice about the area. They went that extra mile to make sure that our stay was both comfortable & enjoyable.
Very nice, friendly and helpful hosts. Fantastic breakfast and lovely, clean rooms. Excellent location, lots of good walks and beautiful scenery.
lovely room with view.breakfast was tasty and well cooked with a good choice.nice touches like complimentry bottled water, honesty bar and reduced rate parking tickets.hosts were very welcoming and friendly.
nothing at all.
The welcome, the room was clean, bright and welcoming. The dining room was of exceptional high quality. the whole place has shining and showed great pride in their Guest house. Well done both.
Having to come home.
Great room, fantastic service, superb location. We had a lovely couple of days in Lynton and would recommend Castle Hill guest house.
Emma and Alistair are exceptional managers of this B&B and couldn't do more for their guests. Set in central Lynton this B&B is ideally located. Very modern rooms in a historic building. Breakfast was also excellent. All round great value.
Car parking has to be in a nearby parking lot because of the nature of central Lynton but the managers can arrange all day parking permits for a modest charge
The hosts are faultless
We stayed for 2 nights in August at the Castle Hill Guest House and were made to feel very welcome. It is homely, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast choice is excellent. When we left it was like saying goodbye to close friends.

Emma and Alastair are a lovely, very welcoming couple - couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Their B&B is clean and comfortable with great facilities like the lounge, DVD collection and books. Lynton is a beautiful village with excellent hiking options around the cliffs and river. We highly recommend this B&B for a wonderful stay!
Emma and Alistair were a warm, friendly and helpful hosts. All our needs and requirements were met. Our room was spacious, clean and homely. We will certainly come back again and would have no reservations about recommending this guest house to family and friends.
There is nothing I can fault about this guest house. Alastair and Emma where lovely hosts, very helpful and informative, breakfast was delicious and the room was spacious and homely. Would definitely visit again in the future.
great hospitality, lovely breakfast in the mornings. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
water pipes in the house are loud throughout the house i.e. if someone in another room uses the bathroom during the night, the sound of the pipes verberates throughout the house.
Room 2 has a great sitting room attached to the bedroom, this led onto a nice balcony. Great hospitality from Alistair & Emma who couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend The Oak Room for somewhere to eat in the evening - if you like Mediterranean type food
Room 2 - Could do with replacing the bath with a good power shower
Everything. Alistair and Emma were exceptional hosts. Their B&B was very well maintained and attended to. The breakfasts were wonderful as well. Their B&B is also extremely close to Valley of the Rocks, Lynmouth, and Countisbury, which gave us an immensely large amount of things to do while we stayed here.
Staff were so helpful
We enjoyed the whole experience, Alistair and Emma were most thoughtful and wonderful hosts
Owners so welcoming and helpful Rooms very clean and modern Breakfast tasty with generous portions Ideal location where no need to drive in order to explore the location
Staff Food Room Location
Fantastic location, lovely hotel, rooms are immaculate, friendly owners, nothing is too much trouble. Delicious breakfast.
Everything, nothing was too much trouble for Emma and Alistair.
Very warm welcome, rooms were clean and nicely decorated, the public areas we equally modern and well furbished. Excellent breakfast, and location
The bathroom was a tad tight. I couldn't wash my face over the basin and the shower wasn't fitted high enough up the wall so I could only shower from my chest downwards without crouching.
The location was perfect for exploring Exmoor and the surrounding areas...from coastal and riverside walks to the nearby Valley of the Rocks and the idyllic Lynton and Lynmouth towns. Alistair and Emma were exemplary hosts, displaying high levels of professionalism combined with a warmth and genuine friendly approach. We felt instantly at home within the calming and relaxing environment that they have created within their beautiful guest house. Our bedroom was perfect and showed stunning views of the surrounding hills, and the cooked breakfasts were amazing! We look forward to returning next year!
....the fact that we couldnt stay longer.....5 nights just wasnt enough!
Hospitality of the owners, relaxed but very professional. Great location.
wifi reception was not always available in the bedroom but worked fine in shared areas.
