Situated in the picturesque town of Lynton, the Castle Hill Guest House is just 50 metres from the South West Coastal Path. Within the Exmoor National Park, the house boasts a salon treatment room and countryside views. Built in 1891, this spacious Victorian property maintains many original features. The individually designed rooms boast a flat-screen TV with a DVD player and tea and coffee making facilities. The en suite bathrooms have a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Guests can enjoy full English breakfast or continental options in the bright dining room, which has triple aspect views over Summerhouse Hill. Dishes are prepared using locally sourced produce where possible. A selection of fine wines can be enjoyed in the guest lounge, which offers free Wi-Fi. Castle Hill is situated at the end of Lynton’s High Street, a 5-minute walk from independent shops, tearooms, and restaurants. The Valley of Rocks is under a mile away and Exmoor Zoo is a 20-minute drive.

Castle Hill Guest House is 126 years old this year. It was built in 1891 as a Gentleman's Residence and since then it has been a Doctors Surgery, housed families made homeless by the 1952 Lynmouth flood and been a Guest House since the early 1970's. We have lived here since 2010 and during this time Castle Hill has been lovingly refurbished and offers accommodation that is spacious, clean and comfortable. We have a combination of double, twin and family rooms. We also have three luxurious suites which have their own private lounge area to relax in. Castle Hill offers a relaxed, informal base from which to explore the Exmoor National Park. Families with children over 5 are welcome.
Mark, Kate, Dylan and Geordie moved to Lynton, North Devon in early 2018. Mark has spent his whole working life in the hospitality sector, working in the restaurant, hotel and wine sectors. Kate's background is predominantly in social care but she has always had a passion for food and travel. Kate and Mark have traveled extensively and have found North Devon to be one of the most spectacular and friendly locations in the UK (and probably worldwide). Both Kate & Mark enjoy photography, travel and living in quiet, remote places!
Lynton is a quaint, unspoilt village perched over 500 ft above Lynmouth, where Exmoor meets the sea. Castle Hill is situated at the end of the High Street, so all the amenities are close by. There is plenty to see and do within walking distance of Castle Hill, especially the Cliff Railway, The Valley of Rocks and Watersmeet. Lynton has many gift shops, galleries, restaurants, tea-rooms,pubs and restaurants to enjoy. Lynton even has its own cinema in a converted Methodist Chapel which can seat 68 people. Castle Hill is situated only 50 metres from the South West Coastal Path. It is Britain's longest National Trail with over 600 miles of way-marked paths. The scenery along the way is dramatic and beautiful. Join the South West Coastal Path at Lynton or Lynmouth to admire the spectacular coastline towards Porlock or Heddon Valley and Combe Martin. The trail can be accessed by bus and train so that shorter distances can be walked.
