The parking attendant was really friendly and helpful on arrival. The room was small but fine for our one night stay on our way back to London; Also as a stopover to drop a hire car off at Heathrow the next morning. Breakfast (included) was very good, although I missed having poached eggs. The hotel is only metres from Windsor Castle and the main shopping centre, so even though we were in Windsor for a short time we were able to take in seeing the Caslte (brilliant) and enjoy the seasonally decorated shops without having to move the car. We were so pleased we chose the hotel and Windsor itself to stay in, even for such a short stay.
The only problem we had was that it took about two to five minutes each time we turned the television on for news etc. By the time we go it working we'd missed the headlines. We had the same problem of it not starting with both the remote and the power button on the side of the television. Everything else was very good.
The restaurant staff were very nice and polite. their service was excellent
the first night we order a light snack with tea and drinks, the tea/drinks arrived however after 45mins the food still had not arrived and it took a reminder to have it delivered to us. The first night I also asked for extra pillows and surprise surprise we did not get them and it took another reminder the following morning to get them. Then to top matters the second night we again ordered a snack/drinks but asked for it to be delivered to our room. Yet again I had to remind them of the order as we had waited over an hour for the room service. To say the lease I was not happy
Over familiar staff
We arrived at 9am, way early for check in and hotel was booked. I was traveling with my Dad who was quite tired from the flight. About an hour later after having breakfast, we walked back to hotel and was greeted with a smile and a key for one of our two rooms. The staff's welcome, service and friendliness was superb. The hotel quaint, very clean, fantastic location, beds and pillows very, very comfortable. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommend.
Staff were very efficient and friendly and the hotel was ideally suited for Windsor and surrounding areas
The cost of the stay just over £200 not including breakfast! Was upgraded to an executive double room but there was nothing executive about it! In old part of hotel the room was dark and dingy with awful lighting and lampshades that my grandmother would have liked! If you are looking for a romantic weekend this is not the place !
reception and bar staff were very good. Disappointed with the restaurant, we were the only ones there for most of the time.
The staff were excellent they could not give us a view of the castle because they had a wedding on that weekend, so they upgraded us from a room to a suite free, also left chocolates wine and balloons in our room for my birthday. the location was excellent. Will be back.
everything was lovely.nothing i didn't like
location by the castle and shopping / nightlife Room comfort
breakfast starts a bit late (7:30 on a Sat morning?) Bar prices way over the top
Standard business hotel with a terrific location and pleasant staff.
An absolutely supurb breakfast but very expensive at £16.50 compared to many other low cost hotels with equally good breakfasts. Central position and handy for most things including the railway station. Do not think it is worthy of 4stars.
No lift to the upper floor of the accommodation to the rear of the hotel. The room 413 was quite dark with a very large yew tree outside of the window which overlooked a brick wall and car park. Hotel not really worthy of 4stars as room was somewhat tired and needed decorating especially the bathroom which had paint peeling at the bootom of the door, cracked tiles and the tile grout was showing signs of dirt and mould. Checking out the reception staff did not even ask how the stay was nor wish a save journey home.
Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast selection excellent Quality of food excellent Bedroom very comfortable with lots of space
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean. Had a drink in the hotel bar and this was also really good, with a nice comfortable atmosphere. All in all a great location and stay at this hotel.
I found the mattress slightly uncomfortable however this could be just me as my boyfriend didn't have any problems sleeping. We did have noisy people upstairs who were banging and stomping around for a couple of hours early Sunday morning. Should of really called down to reception as I am sure they would have helped.
Superb location..parking facility and breakfast.
Too hot...had to have fan on all night in October. Disturbing vibration all night long from ventilation in adjacent 'funnel' obey one window.
Location to Castle, shops and restaurants, we had travelled to Windsor by train and with no transport this was important.
I found it diffiult to sleep as the mattress got very warm,
location and nice bed.
Too expensive for the money.poor showers and the taps being old fashioned just dribble.as do the showers.all in all not that impressed. apart from location.
Pleasantness of staff
Didn't like being charged £12 to park my car when I'm paying £204 for a one night stay!
Bar prices !!!
The hotel was great, staff friendly, efficient and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Windsor.
Comfy bed, convenient parking, great location and good price
Paying for parking. Lots of noise in the corridor in the middle of the night.
location is perfect, hotel both charming and up to date, staff very nice
our upgrade to the suite made the stay most comfortable dinner on the first evening and lunch the following day were both superb and the service was excellent
our daughters' twin room was remote and too cold for comfort
Needs update/upgrade. Sad bathroom. Overpriced for a 4*.
the bar had a very big cava variety of good wines and the bartender from -chech repubic -was excellent and knew a lot about wines.
lobby and rooms needs renovation
