The electric light sensor in the bathroom was faulty, and kept switching itself on when we were nowhere near it. Also, the lavatory seat was loose, and then fell off! During daylight hours, you had to keep the sliding bathroom door open to get natural light, as the bedroom window was small. We are elderly, and thought the quoted price for a twin room meant "For two people". It should be more clearly stated - e.g. "Single occupancy £60, Double occupancy £80".
Pretty area, but we had mistaken Steyning's description for Bamber! We wished we had stayed in Steyning, which is the actual lively village which was voted prettiest village in Sussex. Went there the following morning, and it was brilliant: food market, friendly locals, lots of tempting shops, superb olde-worlde coffee shop, generally lovely atmosphere.
