Extremely good food
Good pub food and suitable accomodation for short stay.
I have stayed in the castle Inn many times. But they still ignore my simple request for an early breakfast sandwich!
Very friendly and welcoming people. We had a comfortable, spacious and well equiped room in a separate building behind the main hotel with its busy bar and restaurant. In the centre of a pretty village but very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was included in the room price, loads of choice, perfectly cooked and presented.
Nothing negative to say
All fine and friendly
Castle Inn had no booking when we arrived of us
Staff and food were very good
The room was poor. Certainly not a bargain for the price we paid
Nice room, warm and comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Food good - plenty of it.
2 single beds pushed together rather than a proper double. Mattresses a bit soft. Would be nice if breakfast could be served until a bit later. Problem with booking.com website meant that quoted rate was wrong and we were charged a surcharge on arrival.
Lovely room - big & comfy. Easy to park, good food.
Staff were okay but not overly friendly. Woman who did checkout seemed to be having a bad morning.
We discovered a lovely pub in a beautiful area. Staff very attentive, food very good, couldn't have asked for more
Space in room. Friendly staff
Smell in room (smelt like cigarettes); could hear music from bar when trying to sleep
Comfortable bed and good night's sleep with ensuite bathroom. Very handy having a key to enter the hotel after hours. Didn't have breakfast / dinner so cannot comment, but restaurant area downstairs did look nice.
My room was at the far end of the hotel, so a bit of a trek carrying my case up and down steps and along corridors. Also couldn't get the TV to work, followed all instructions and spent about half hour trying to get it going but to no avail. As I was only staying one night and out for the evening, it didn't really matter.
Nice village setting.
Main light in room not working. Normal sized double bed, for 'superior' room would have expected a king size. Could see there had been a water leak stain outside of the shower cubicle. No heating on. Not all staff very good at breakfast especially the person that served us.
Location for South Downs Way excellent. Comfy bed and good breakfast. Good value for money.
Little noisy, but it is a pub so that was to be expected.
Good room size, served Dark Star beer in bar, very good breakfast (except tea was a bit weak and tasteless), Bramber is a nice little village with castle ruins and beautiful Norman church
Bed a bit soft for me
The atmosphere was nice and friendly . Staff were perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Pleasant stay, very nice.
All the staff were extremely friendly. Asked for a drink popular in Australia and they weren't familiar but we're happy for me to show how to make it. Great dinner and breakfast.
Could only stay 1 night.
Breakfast was quality, a lovely pub with great staff. Plenty of room to park. All reasonably priced. Even got some free runner beans from the pub garden. Which we had for Sunday Lunch when we got back to London.
Good clean place, good atmosphere
Undercover building for smokers this is most unusual these days
Well kept real ale, pleasant staff, though lacking professional training.
Very poor restaurant service. Long wait for dinner orders to arrive even after saying we were on a tight timetable. Wrong dessert arrived, but knocked off bill. Had to ask 3 times for toast to arrive at breakfast. Wi-Fi only worked in bar area. Drunk in bar on Saturday night being very loud and imposing himself on other non local customers. Appeared to be a local so no action taken by staff. Very boorish. Would not stay here again
The friendlyness of the staff who made our stay most enjoyable. The Hotel had different main areas you could use giving you options that you could relax in. The road it was situated on was quiet and used mainley by locals.
Our buget room was a bit small, but was clean and the decor was good.
Excellent value good food attentive staff lovely rooms. Book early always busy
Short length of stay
Enjoyed the Food and the beer Cottage room were good. Not their fault I got soaked three times walking to and from the room. Shower excellent Breakfast good
Road Closures. Again not their fault but it did disrupt my stay.
Staff were wonderful in dealing with us and our severe colds. The weather was against us so we holed up here for several days. Hot lemon and fresh ginger appeared from kitchen to help us recover. We would certainly return to see more of countryside in clement conditions.
Menu a little restricted given we were in house for several days.
Really friendly and helpful staff
