The staff were very attentive and nothing was a problem or too much trouble. The room was comfortable and we had a lovely dinner in the bar. Fantastic location in a picturesque part of Sussex.
The shower was a bit noisy!
Room was a bit cold but we did have a very cold spell
* Size of room. * Looking out onto garden. * So quiet at night. * Staff almost felt like family. * Loved the hot choc sachets. * Free parking and very close to room. * Ground floor room as requested. Everything.
As i was by myself i was a little nervous when i woke and security lights had gone out, but that soon passed and i felt safe and secure in my little room at the back of the hotel.
This hotel is a nice clean friendly place to go. We arrived quite late and the batman made an effort to make us a sandwich out of hours so no complaints. Would visit again
Breakfast a bit confusing and service a little poor
I stayed in a luxurious room which smelled lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was very big. the room was extremely quiet and there was access to Skye T.V at all times. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was huge. I enjoyed the surrounding countryside.
It was all really good. However I was unable to access the Wifi.
Friendly welcome and staff. Comfortable. Good breakfast. Excellent value
We arrived at the hotel when the weather was very cold. The room was lovely and warm being positioned in the balcony annex. The breakfasts were very good being very well prepared with good wholesome ingredients. The bed was clean and welcoming. The SKY TV was very good once the two controllers were mastered.
The wardrobe was tiny and it was almost impossible to hang anything in it. On arrival. when we tried to draw the curtains but they came away from the rail in our hands . The worst aspect was dust. Regular maintenance seemed to be completely overlooked and the curtains cannot have been cleaned for months. At the base of the curtains there were two or three piles of accumulated dust. Only minimal maintenance was carried out during our stay in the room. In the dining room several of the chairs had accumulations of dust at the back of the seats and underneath the seats. One or two members of the staff seemed to be somewhat lackadaisical; one member when removing a jug of milk to the kitchen left a trail of slopped milk right the way up to the kitchen door. To summarize the hotel seemed to be run on a shoestring budget and needs a total refurbishment to bring it up to date. Some changes of staff would also prove beneficial. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel.
everything was superb
Very pleasant staff and a very homely feel about the place. It is a pub come hotel in the middle of an idyllic village. The restaurant also offers excellent quality food at a reasonable price. Rooms are comfortable and adequate.
nothing to dislike
The welcome, the room, the free wifi, the breakfast and the Sharps Atlantic IPA,
I was told the restaurant was open until 9pm but t closed before 7pm. the Indian next door was excellent however.
Booked for room 1 but had been occupied when arrived. Had to take room 2. Very small - ok for singles but not up to standard for couples. Just think we were unlucky. Other rooms all look good. Stayed the one night so coped with the box room.
having been born 2 miles from the castle and now living in south wales it was nice to go back the location of the hotel is brilliant for visiting Brighton or Worthing the staff are very helpful and plenty of car parking space
as I grew up in the area I could not possibly say anything bad about the castle I have had many a good drink in there over the years
Comfortable room; great shower; fabulous breakfast; lovely staff.
Minor matter.....Not enough electric sockets.
a fantastic find. will stop again when I am in the area
Helpful staff; good value
Liked everything from start to finish. Haven't a bad word to say about my short stay there. Everybody seemed pleasant and very helpful, food & especially the beer were excellent. Will definitely call again with my partner.
Very hard pushed to find anything I didn't like about my stay there apart from the squeaky floor but that's me just being picky.
Location, Breakfast good choice
On checkout was asked for a extra £40. Owner said this was for 2 people in a twin room. My booking stated price per room for 2 people. I refused to pay the extra as I had a copy of my booking on my phone. It was not a good end to our stay
Extremely good food
Good pub food and suitable accomodation for short stay.
I have stayed in the castle Inn many times. But they still ignore my simple request for an early breakfast sandwich!
Very friendly and welcoming people. We had a comfortable, spacious and well equiped room in a separate building behind the main hotel with its busy bar and restaurant. In the centre of a pretty village but very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was included in the room price, loads of choice, perfectly cooked and presented.
Nothing negative to say
All fine and friendly
Castle Inn had no booking when we arrived of us
Staff and food were very good
The room was poor. Certainly not a bargain for the price we paid
Nice room, warm and comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Food good - plenty of it.
2 single beds pushed together rather than a proper double. Mattresses a bit soft. Would be nice if breakfast could be served until a bit later. Problem with booking.com website meant that quoted rate was wrong and we were charged a surcharge on arrival.
Lovely room - big & comfy. Easy to park, good food.
Staff were okay but not overly friendly. Woman who did checkout seemed to be having a bad morning.
