Pleasant stay, very nice.
All the staff were extremely friendly. Asked for a drink popular in Australia and they weren't familiar but we're happy for me to show how to make it. Great dinner and breakfast.
Could only stay 1 night.
Breakfast was quality, a lovely pub with great staff. Plenty of room to park. All reasonably priced. Even got some free runner beans from the pub garden. Which we had for Sunday Lunch when we got back to London.
Good clean place, good atmosphere
Undercover building for smokers this is most unusual these days
Well kept real ale, pleasant staff, though lacking professional training.
Very poor restaurant service. Long wait for dinner orders to arrive even after saying we were on a tight timetable. Wrong dessert arrived, but knocked off bill. Had to ask 3 times for toast to arrive at breakfast. Wi-Fi only worked in bar area. Drunk in bar on Saturday night being very loud and imposing himself on other non local customers. Appeared to be a local so no action taken by staff. Very boorish. Would not stay here again
The friendlyness of the staff who made our stay most enjoyable. The Hotel had different main areas you could use giving you options that you could relax in. The road it was situated on was quiet and used mainley by locals.
Our buget room was a bit small, but was clean and the decor was good.
Excellent value good food attentive staff lovely rooms. Book early always busy
Short length of stay
Enjoyed the Food and the beer Cottage room were good. Not their fault I got soaked three times walking to and from the room. Shower excellent Breakfast good
Road Closures. Again not their fault but it did disrupt my stay.
Staff were wonderful in dealing with us and our severe colds. The weather was against us so we holed up here for several days. Hot lemon and fresh ginger appeared from kitchen to help us recover. We would certainly return to see more of countryside in clement conditions.
Menu a little restricted given we were in house for several days.
Really friendly and helpful staff
nice location, pretty from outside and nice gardens
no toiletries on second day,no new toilet roll and breakfast was quite basic
We arrived late after heavy London traffic. We phoned ahead & the staff were brilliant and arranged for a meal after the kitchen closing time. Good food, friendly atmosphere, all very clean, comfortable beds, and a good price. Can't ask for much more!
Location Parking Cleanliness Decor Fresh cooked breakfast On tap coffee in morning Tea coffee biscuits great in room
No hot water for majority of 2 night visit Intransigence re booking error on 2nd night Smell of kitchen (frying fat) inroom Few guests, including us, didn't like 'Lincolnshire' style local sausages - no alternative
A friendly welcome, good pub grub and quite location. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of character rather than chain hotel boxes.
Room rather small, but clean and adequate for a couple of nights.
Good location. V pleasant bar and breakfast staff
Poor telephone interaction Less than pleasant end of evening shut-down considering we had a large bbooking with multiple rooms
Great location in a very pretty village. Staff in hotel friendly and helpful. It was great to have such a good restaurant in the hotel: the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
The bathroom lights coming on automatically each time you moved anything near the door! Not too bad during the day, but REALLY annoying in the dead of night; having the door closed cut down airflow to the room.
Large and comfortable beds, clean and large bath room
Nice cosy pub with good food,if a bit expensive.
No fruit at breakfast, cheap orange juice and baked beans.
Nice house, good breakfast and nice staff
The room was not quite new but all in good shape. There was nothing to complain about.
Lovely room, tasty food, helpful staff, comfy bed, lovely village.
people above being very noisy late at night just as we retired after a long day of sight seeing
Clean rooms that were smartly furnished. Good breakfasts (I went for the all English) and also had a decent meal in the pub one evening. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
The communal areas (stairs and landing) are starting to look a little dated but this didn't really bother me.
Staff very friendly and food excellent
