Castle Inn Hotel and Conference Centre  

It was extremely cold in the rooms in the beginning of March.

Good clean spacey room, great food. Great location for the SDW

Very clean comfortable room with everything needed for an overnight stay. Following my stay, I have made another booking for when I am next in the area.

They shouldn't s running this place. The bedrooms are horrible badly decorated dirty. Just shoddy all round. The breakfast was disgusting and tasted of oil. Never go back never recommend.

Our generously sized dog friendly room was great for us, opening straight on to the garden. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and we were particularly impressed by the food. Being vegetarian, I often have to put up with second best, but not here, always something delicious on the menu.

We only stayed in the hotel for 1 night but the room was comfortable, warm and clean. The breakfast was lovely and quick friendly service.

The shower was a little temperamental. The lead for the kettle was too short and had to boil the kettle on the floor. The dresser with the mirror had no plug socket near it to plug in hairdryer.

Meals were very good value for money and served in a friendly atmosphere

This was my girlfriends first holiday in England and we found a typical English place to stay. We both work in the trade ( we did not tell them this) and we found the staff and proprietors couldnt have been more helpful and friendly. We arrived later than planned and the chef pulled out all the stops to make our evening meal very special, a very well apointed room, full of charm and character meant a restful night followed by a very clean and tasty full english breakfast. We paid our account after breakfast and value for money 10/10

We weren't told in advance that the pub would be closing early and that we wouldn't be able to eat there, which would have been nice to know, although there were 2 restaurants in the village still open after that

It was the only available place to stay.

The room was poorly laid out. The shelf over the basin in the bathroom made the basin extremely difficult to access. A large fan made much of the room inaccessible.

A selection of well kept ales not found in many other hotels. A room that are decidedly different from the usual premier inn type layout, and adapted for disabled use (not that we required that, or found the adaptions intrusive). Close enough to Brighton for easy access, but remote enough for a quiet night.

The staff were superb and the facilities adequate but upstairs the room was in need of a make over in particular the ensuite. This is an expensive area to stay in as there really isnt a huge amount of choice but I would have been disappointed to have been asked for more than £80. a great building tho and in a great location.

Ensuite was bordering on being grubby but the decoration would have been a huge improvement along with a new expelair, shower (cubicle and head) and wc

Lovely breakfast included. Easy to park, good sized room for the price I paid.

I particularly liked the informal freindliness of the place, the building and rooms were quirky oldy worldy but had good tv and communication set up. All food was of excellent quality and good local real ales completed my pleasure.

Friendly, comfortable with an excellent menu. The food was very well cooked and presented.

Nice place we were just passing by but we liked it, nice little village with stone houses.

Quiet, in small village.Looked a good menu although did not have time to sample it. Good tv and satellite.

Rooms not individually heated. Lots of stairs. Each room different and different standards ( some quilts, some blankets) room a bit crowded and had to move chairs to get to wardrobe.

The food was excellent and the chef is to be highly commended. The staff were friendly and helpful and my room was left in good order each day. The countryside is very pretty and there is a pleasant garden for when the weather is good and a very handy car park, a great asset in itself. Bed was comfortable.

If you don't know the way it's easy to get lost in the Sussex lanes and I certainly did when searching for Bramber, even when missing the way from Brighton! The bus service was late on the Sunday and takes an hour to get to Brighton. I eventually went by car and had to pay £18 to park in Brighton while I shopped for a few hours! For a day trip shopping it was not too convenient. The en suite was a cupboard with a tiny handbasin. It meant filling the kettle using a glass because it would not fit under the tap and my soap kept falling into it. Not much room to put make up or toiletries. There was only a shower, no bath and no choice of teas. Pretty basic other than the food which was delicious. As with all older inns, the floorboards creaked a lot and, until you got used to it, It made you think there was an intruder in the room! There wasn't much room to move about by and large.

Friendly and relaxing, owners were pleasant and welcoming, food was great and value for money. As a public house the hotel was quiet, dispite a busy bar down stairs.

The wife and I both thought the Castle Inn was our ideal type of inn / hotel, an oldey world and nice character, plenty of bars both indoors and out, all complemented by the superb flowers in the inns garden, The village of Bramber was also beautiful and interesting and the South Downs is a very interesting area to visit.

The the way the manager asked me if I have the rights to park my car in the disabled bay..!! ( I am a blue Badge Holder )
