The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. Very enjoyable two nights.
Sorry but the stairs to the rooms not very nice.
Very friendly staff. Pretty location. Good food and beer. Homely atmosphere. Excellent breakfast made with quality produce. Dog friendly. Will visit again.
Location and value
Due for a refurb.
Food - excellent Staff - very friendly Dogs - able to take our dogs and good dog walks in area Old fashioned pub Spotlessly clean
Access to bedrooms via metal steps on outside of building Squeeky bed Could not get internet to work Slightly dated decor in rooms and bathroom Overpriced but it was bank holiday
Quiet location, with accommodation separate from the bar. Excellent breakfasts and good bar food. Good centre for exploring Offa's Dyke.
Handbasin was chipped.
Really friendly, comfortable rooms, great food and atmosphere.
There was no one there to welcome us or let us in.
Had a lovely stay room was quite small and basic but fine for what we wanted the bit that swung it for us were the staff and owners (lovely is a I can say) and the food!! Proper home made grub plenty of it too! Keep up the good work we will be back :-)
Lovely area Excellent breakfast Great food Value for money
The was a warm welcome from locals and staff alike. It is a great base for walking in beautiful upland countryside. Food was fresh and well prepared, breakfasts excellent. The garden / patio was a wonderful area for pre-dinner drinks and we were joined by friendly collies. Choice of two real ales in excellent condition.
Carpet in shower room.
Wonderful area Quietness Meals Excellent staff Front Dining room -old and cosy
Staff welcoming and efficient. Excellent value for money in restaurant. Clean bedrooms with all we needed. Lovely setting with a pretty garden to use in the evening.
Not a huge problem but we wished we could have booked in a little earlier than 6pm. Ended up waiting outside for a while at 6pm. Someone from a house nearby told us to keep ringing the bell and someone did come eventually.
Friendly Staff. Excellent Food. Enjoyed eating out in the courtyard. Very nice Room.
Good value from all perspectives
Excellent welcome. Very friendly and staff accommodated my need to store a bike and provided with an alternative breakfast due to my very early start. Food very good and nice local beer.
I couldn't get wi-fi to work (but in fairness I didn't discuss this with staff).
Can't think of anything.
Really friendly staff (and locals in the bar). Clean, comfortable, modern room. Peaceful location. Tasty food and generous portions. Excellent Ales!
Being picky, the Wi-Fi and the mobile phone signal were a little patchy but you are in the middle of nowhere so what do you expect!
The room was excellent as were the staff
My only niggle is that I would have liked a bigger TV it was too small
I was made to feel very welcome by Michelle and she couldn't do enough to help when I arrived. The room was lovely and breakfast was yummy! Both my little dog and I enjoyed are stay. Thank you.
Homeliness of all the staff nothing too much trouble
Room very clean, airy, spacious and well stocked. Food excellent and plenty of it. Cosy traditional bar.
Noise from nearby cockerels very early in the morning - NOT the pubs fault though.
Excellent breakfast. Fresh fruit. Cafetiere with good fresh coffee. Tea, coffee and herbal tea in room. Very quiet. Three extremely friendly dogs. The whole stay was very pleasant.
The beds were rather soft.
We arrived early and were waiting outside when we were told "...she was out but would be back soon and would let us in even though it was early." Comfortable bed, nice room, good evening meal and breakfast, friendly staff, attractive building. We'd certainly go back again.
No instructions for the shower - if too hot and I turned it down (I thought) it turned to cold. I tried several times and it turned cold each time......that was probably me as the other two managed all right.
The food was outstanding, especially the homemade Steak and Ale pie, breakfast was also lovely. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfy.
The breakfast had options for vegans and vegetarians without any problems whatsoever, which is refreshing as we usually have problems being catered for. They had a side gate so we could come in late to our room without having to enter the main pub and disturb others. The food and the room were good and it was good value for money.
