Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Quality of food.
Did not manage to access wifi, but did not ask for help so that might be my fault.
We stayed at the Castle Inn while visiting the area and were very happy with our choice. We had a wonderful dinner in the delightful period bar, a cozy night in a snug room and a fantastic breakfast, crowned with that most rare of commodities in these isles, real honest to goodness coffee!
The friendliness of the staff & locals & the excellent breakfast
The outside access to the bedrooms. The bedrooms are dated but very clean
The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. It is situated in a quiet relaxing village.
Ample room but short on shelves. Spacious bathroom with electric shower. Rooms well away from bar but over function room. It turned out to be the monthly folk music evening. Great entertainment with one band in function room and several other performers in the bar. We were very lucky!
We booked 24 hours earlier but booking.com's notification had not been picked up by Inn. We were a surprise to the staff! Since we were the only guests, there was no problem. Meal options were restricted due to folk event.
Staff very welcoming homely enviroment
No mirror in room
The pub rooms are great, spacious and comfortable. Beer is first class. Food was really good, all cooked on site, and service was friendly. It must be good, since it attracts lots of local custom.
We had a twin bed room in the annexe. It was perfectly functional, but small, sparsely furnished and not at all friendly. At night, external lighting was on all night and windows could not be opened because of noise from the kitchen extractor fans.
The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. Very enjoyable two nights.
Sorry but the stairs to the rooms not very nice.
No lunches served, despite sign outside saying they were. Outside staircase to rooms
Very friendly staff. Pretty location. Good food and beer. Homely atmosphere. Excellent breakfast made with quality produce. Dog friendly. Will visit again.
Location and value
Due for a refurb.
Food - excellent Staff - very friendly Dogs - able to take our dogs and good dog walks in area Old fashioned pub Spotlessly clean
Access to bedrooms via metal steps on outside of building Squeeky bed Could not get internet to work Slightly dated decor in rooms and bathroom Overpriced but it was bank holiday
Quiet location, with accommodation separate from the bar. Excellent breakfasts and good bar food. Good centre for exploring Offa's Dyke.
Handbasin was chipped.
Really friendly, comfortable rooms, great food and atmosphere.
There was no one there to welcome us or let us in.
Had a lovely stay room was quite small and basic but fine for what we wanted the bit that swung it for us were the staff and owners (lovely is a I can say) and the food!! Proper home made grub plenty of it too! Keep up the good work we will be back :-)
Lovely area Excellent breakfast Great food Value for money
The was a warm welcome from locals and staff alike. It is a great base for walking in beautiful upland countryside. Food was fresh and well prepared, breakfasts excellent. The garden / patio was a wonderful area for pre-dinner drinks and we were joined by friendly collies. Choice of two real ales in excellent condition.
Carpet in shower room.
Wonderful area Quietness Meals Excellent staff Front Dining room -old and cosy
Staff welcoming and efficient. Excellent value for money in restaurant. Clean bedrooms with all we needed. Lovely setting with a pretty garden to use in the evening.
Not a huge problem but we wished we could have booked in a little earlier than 6pm. Ended up waiting outside for a while at 6pm. Someone from a house nearby told us to keep ringing the bell and someone did come eventually.
Friendly Staff. Excellent Food. Enjoyed eating out in the courtyard. Very nice Room.
Good value from all perspectives
Excellent welcome. Very friendly and staff accommodated my need to store a bike and provided with an alternative breakfast due to my very early start. Food very good and nice local beer.
I couldn't get wi-fi to work (but in fairness I didn't discuss this with staff).
Can't think of anything.
