Situated in the heart of Lincoln’s historical quarter, The White Hart Hotel Lincoln offers accommodation with a restaurant, a bar and a terrace within the shadows of the Cathedral.
Score from 445 reviews Very good
Built on the foundations of a medieval palace, this elegant hotel sits in the shadow of Lincoln Cathedral. It blends traditional features with modern amenities like flat-screen TVs and free internet.
Score from 620 reviews Fabulous
With a waterfront location, this 4-star hotel has a rooftop restaurant and a bar, both with views across Lincoln’s skyline.

Very welcoming hotel, all staff friendly and efficient. Excellent restaurant, ate there all three nights of our stay. In a perfect position to explore the delights of Lincoln.
For a deluxe room, it was on the small side. Very peaceful until the third night, when there was someone in the next room and noise was a bit of a problem.
Clean, very comfy bed. Pleasant staff. Very good location and parking.
a lovely welcome to.the hotel by being given a free upgrade. A beautiful location. Cannot fault the hotel at all.
Breakfast service was very slow.
What's not to like, if visiting Lincoln on business or pleasure there is nowhere better to stay.
The hotel is at the top of the hill in Lincoln, within walking distance of the major ancient attractions. As we were in town for our anniversary, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a room where we could see the castle and the cathedral. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its location and well dressed accommodation. Also, we booked last minute and we were able to get a great price with breakfast included.
While the room was large, the bathroom left little room to maneuver. Additionally, we could not find the climate control in the room. At night, the room was too warm and there was little we could apart from opening the windows. (The desk is not manned 24 hours as well, so calling them would not have helped either)
Efficient, pleasant and very helpful. Very comfortable and ideal location for historic part of Lincoln. Would definitely try to stay there again.
Location, decor and atmosphere. Super room and spacious bathroom
No view from skylights apart from rooftops so couldn't see either castle or Cathedral. Good was good but quite expensive.
The food was good
I wanted a double bed, the single was very uncomfortable loss of sleep
Duty manager Mat was very helpful, very professional, in fact excellent.
Lovely welcome at reception and help with my luggage much appreciated. Dining room staff very attentive, and polite.

Very comfortable personal hotel in a good location.
Excellent overall. Very nice breakfast
everything. the room,the food,the staff,the location.
My fiance and I booked this hotel as a very last minute night away since we had the day off together and wanted to go to Lincoln to sort out some paperwork for our forthcoming wedding. I booked an executive double room for the night at around 10am on the day we wanted to stay so was lucky to get an available room and at a bargain price. We arrived at the Castle Hotel in the early evening which was quite easy to find and had space for us to park around the back of the building. We were greeted by a very courteous and professional young man who was friendly and helpful and showed us to our room. The room was not particularly large but was very well appointed and had a lovely view of the Cathedral and had everything we could possibly need. It was beautifully decorated and had a spacious bathroom with a large walk-in shower which was fabulous! Very comfortable bed and plenty of tea/coffee for our comfort. We decided to eat downstairs and had a bar meal which was lovely and excellent value for money. The staff were at all times very pleasant and helpful and nothing at all was too much trouble. Breakfast next morning was again excellent with a good choice of menu and everything cooked to perfection and piping hot. I would certainly recommend this delightful hotel to anyone and shall certainly stay again in the future.
Position, right in the heart of mediaeval Lincoln Refurbished room really comfortable and well presented Staff tremendously obliging Really innovative restaurant menu, well cooked and presented Best breakfast menu we have ever experienced
Fantastic location, so close to the amazing Cathedral and Castle. Having been to many European cities, this is up there with our favourites - and right on our doorstep too! Love the boutique feel, helpful staff and ambience of the hotel
We could hear a bit of noise from the TV in the next room - but we guess they had it on loud!
Breakfast- excellent Restaurant-very good but a bit pricey Free parking Excellent location being 5 mins walk from the Cathedral
Rooms were on the small side
It was our return and thus 2nd visit back at the Castle Hotel. I was very impressed as previously with the quality of the decor, cleanliness and excellently comfortable bed. We had the same room (102) on our 2nd visit which (may have been coincdiental) but if not was a nice touch on the hotels part and the bathroom shower(s) - note there are 2 :)) 1 american style overhead,- and 1 lower down which can be used for showering down or shampooing and rinsing etc, again cannot be beaten over all over hotels we've stayed in. It was nice to note, that although our 1st visit to the Castle was only in February this year (2014) that most of the staff were the same, doing clearly what they have been doing for presumably some time very well. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys, and they always do what is requested without hesitation, and with excellent manners and genuine smiles and sincerity. Very highly trained. Top draw.
Now to a just a few minor 'bug bears' :- 1. The radiator TRV valve in the room we have been in on both occasions now, - doesn't seem to regulate at all well, even in the OFF position it still came on. Not the best,- given that it was very mild and hot on both evenings stayed. Plumber required - may be worth them paying a bit more for a specialist company, who can do thorough in-depth on the job checks of the radiators, etc. 2. The Bar - the 2nd night we stayed, it was a Saturday evening!! And guess what ... The Castle at Lincoln is only interested in serving guests or non-residents in their A la Carte Formal Dining Room, which is o.k. But... We had done this the night before on the Friday, and whilst the food is excellent (both at Breakfast, and on the Friday night, fresh home-cooked and divine, TOP MARKS guys again),- we were so stuffed, and not being local to Lincoln,- we just fancied a lighter bar meal. I know there are plenty of pubs within the vicinity which do cater fine on any night... but I do feel that the hotel are missing a trick here!!! My guess is, they found perhaps that they weren't getting enough of the right clientele in their Bar for bar meals on Saturday nights, so this may have caused this. Not at all good, given that most people on leisure as we were, like to stay in, guys staying in ... is the new going out these days...! 3. Absolutely every tiny little extra on the Friday evening was charged for, whilst I don't expect anything for nothing, most expensive hotels like this, such as Hilton etc, will sometimes say don't worry about a couple of plates of potatoes, etc, we do well out of guests without overcharging for such extras. The Bottom line ... Go there, it is excellent, but be prepared to pay for every extra cup or refill of coffee etc.. Divine Food, well worth dining in their Restaurant, but if you want a romantic weekend, then their policy of no bar food (which includes room service too!!!
The room was modern and clean and had the necessary amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was nice with plenty of choice.
Limited parking but to be expected within the popular area
I liked the fairly central location, all be it at the top of a VERY steep hill. I liked the breakfast facilities. The staff were relatively pleasant.
The room was overpriced. As a couple we wanted a double room, and what we got was a twin room with the beds pushed together and made into a double. We were put in the disabled room, and told we could move to a double room elsewhere for an extra £10. We also booked late check out, which didn't go through to the hotel. We could book extra time, for an extra £10 an hour! This was rather excessive, considering the room was £115 a night!
We stayed in the self catering cottage which was perfect with the kids. The staff were lovely and very friendly.
Everything, without the best stay to date in Lincoln. Great location uber friendly staff Nothing more needed to say - now my hotel of choice.
Wifi strength was poor and patchy but nothing a decent IT tech couldn't sort, not bad enough to distract from other qualities.
Breakfast was fantastic - lots of choice and very well cooked. The room was comfortable and clean, and location was perfect for visiting the cathedral.
Location. Decor / building Staff. Breakfast. Parking.
Comfort of bed. Early breakfast Early check out.
