Great location just off the main road and overall a very good hotel
Not much to complain about!
friendly staff, good food, very clean rooms and facilities,in a reasonable position.
stairs and low ceilings, not all rooms have showers.perhaps not for people that are a little infirm as no lift.
Friendly staff, Clean room, Good food, Comfy bed
Bathroom was very dated
very friendly and helpful, good location for walking into town.breakfast was excellent.will certainly stop here again if in this area.
unable to find any faults with this hotel
The food was of pretty good quality.
The room we had smelt odd. The bathroom was dated and lacked a shower attachment. Not as clean as one would like. The towels provided were very small. The bed was noisy and a very small double. The room was the fire exit so stairs outside window so unable to leave window open. Uht milk. Vile. Small window of time to have breakfast or evening meals.
The general untidyness of the room and stairs, staff not very welcoming, no shower, decor very dated, no wifi at all in room, led to an unhappy visit.
The staff were very obliging and friendly. The bar severed real ale! Excellent local produce served.
Needs just a little care & attention.
Georgina and Steven were very accommodating very helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Steven was very easy to talk to and had plenty of time for us. It was a most pleasant stay.
My wife complained of a lumpy pillow in bed but I slept like a log!
Handy location, (must have had a fantastic view once upon a time before some houses were built at the back), good car park, pleasant staff, good choice of food, very comfortable beds
Not really a dislike, more an observation which is applicable to many hotels nowadays - they all seem to need a bit of refurbishment when it comes to carpets, decor etc but to make a living they have to be open for most of the year leaving little opportunity of work to be carried out.
The breakfast was fantastic!
Great central location, good breakfast and friendly staff
Breakfast. Milk was sour and had to cut mold of f strawberries to eat. Also lunch menu not good for vegrtarians. Ordered a sun dried tomato sald with poached egg but also came with bacon and sausage which was not mentioned on menu
Excellent Food Very Friendly
Close to noisy road No air conditioning - (it was 30 deg C at the time)
The owners were very helpful from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. They gave us ideas of where to visit and what to see. The food was really lovely and the chef was always on form. Our room was always clean and the refilling of toiletries was always carried out if needed. Well worth a visit.
Lovely hotel. comfortable, good service. On the way home from wales we dropped in for a meal, also excellent.
friendly attitude and good service of staff. Excellent dinner.
problem with toilet flush which is obviously an on going problem.
The view form the bedroom was lovely, though if had been in any other of the rooms we would have been disappointed.
The bar shut at 10 and the restaurant closed at 9pm, which meant we needed to find an alternative eating spot....funnily enough at the hotel across the road!
Lovely character bedroom and very nice dining area. Great location for a walk into Ross-on-Wye.
Clean but very dated en-suite bathroom which didn't seem to fit with the high standard of the room.
Food was excellent. Staff very friendly. Position excellent.
Furnishings were a bit tired and shabby in places in the rooms. Pillows were poor and extra pillows should have been available in the room. Bathroom very dated with no shower.
The food in the bar was excellent, and it was on the right side of town for my daughter's PGL holiday. The bed was quite comfortable.
The hotel itself was shabby. My bedroom door had an extremely dodgy lock on it and no extractor fan in the shower room, which meant there was a constant smell of damp and the towels smelt horrible. The decor in the room was shabby. I felt the hotel was very overpriced for what it was.
20 minute walk into Ross.
Room at top of building (had a free standing aircon unit) was stifling even in the early morning. Bath but no shower. Area to front of hotel included a potholed track with a scruffy van hire yard.
The staff were so friendly and were so considerate about one of our party who was heavily pregnant. The rooms were thoughtfully decorated and clean. The dining room and lounge areas were tasteful and relaxing. Breakfast was well cooked and nicely presented.
We had a wonderful view from room eight of the Wye river but on the down side we had no shower, only a bath en suite. This would not be a problem for lots of people. The outside of the building and maybe the foyer does not reflect how pleasant the hotel and staff are. I would use this hotel again.
Easy to find, Clean Room great shower, Good breakfast, Nice shortbread with tea making facilities, Good free Wi-fi.
Owners lacked warmth and smiles
