Boasting an idyllic setting at the edge of both the Gower peninsula and Swansea City Centre, this welcoming B&B enjoys spectacular views over the sea and nearby Mumbles and its Light House.
Score from 137 reviews Good
The bed was two beds pushed together. Lots of voice from an extractor fan outside our bedroom so couldn't sleep. Room wasn't clean, dust and cobwebs around. The only good thing was the wifi.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and quiet as requested and the proximity to the railway station was ideal.
The bedroom was very basic and the decor was a bit tired looking. It took a long time for the shower to run warm water and the flow was rather weak. The hot water tap in the basin was loose. The breakfast was very disappointing although we did only have the continental option.
I liked the location, very central for local shops etc.
I didn't like that when I arrived my booking hadn't even been registered with the hotel, even though I had a booking confirmation reference.
Bar and staf food was exerlent
Nothin I didnt like
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I found the hotel to be clean and well maintained.. The room was huge. The only thing I would mark down is the fact I had to run the shower for 25 minutes before the hot water came through, not good if you in a hurry. But overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I thought it was very good value for money.
25 minutes of running the shower before the hot water came through.
I loved the size on the bedroom And bathroom, the bed I love was huge and comftable :) really enjoyable stay definitely will come back :)
I couldn't get the tv to work? And it got really hot in the room in the night.

The hotel was a little tired
Friendly staff, big room, not bad price.... Plenty of coffee etc.
Rooms outdated, squeaky floor, noisy all night from others slamming doors and could hear easy as thin walls
Location and value for money. Food was of a reasonable standard and fairly priced.
Unfortunately this is quite an old building and the walls are quite thin. If your neighbour chooses to play their television loudly or late/early, it is hard to get any rest. A notice in the room might help to remind inconsiderate guests?
Good priced room, good wifi, good food.
A bit creaky and draughty.
Old fashioned service with a smile.
No lift unfortunately but very helpful staff to accommodate.
everything about this hotel is outstanding i stop here everytime i am in neath. it has a warm cosy and friendly feeling soon as u walk through the door.
The location is great near all restaurants secure car park
Rooms litle bit too small
Friendly helpful staff, good value tasty food , relaxed non corporate atmosphere .
I've known the Castle Hotel all my life and have been a guest before. It's very convenient for me to meet friends there when I retun to Wales. The staff are very gracious and helpful. The food is plentiful and very good. As I age I find an elevator would be welcome...the staff member however was at hand to carry my suitcase!
Bed not very comfortable
Staff very friendly, good atmosphere in the hotel .
Bathrooms need updating , very dated .
A proper old school hotel great staff lovely food stayed many times great value for money
Had a great stay 4 poster bed really nice room would defo stay there again
I liked the food and staff
Think hotel needs updating as very out dated and needs improvement
The hotel was fine and steeped in Welsh Rugby History; Staff helpful Large comfortable clean rooms; No complaints about the large bathroom with plenty of hot water. Car park was a little apart from the hotel but despite not arriving until 9pm still had spaces available.
Location. - Rooms overlooking Neath High St are treated to a bombardment of noise from all the bars in the area until 1:00 am in the morning. Then it's the drunks shouting and fighting their way home till about 2:00am. WIFI was erratic and the TV a bit of a mystery. No security in the Car Park.
Breakfast wasn't included. A little bit grubby
Location, value for money.
