Not value for money, rooms wasn't ready
The staff was very friendly, the food was tasty, right next to pubs and night clubs which is good if that's what you are after.
The shower was really bad, no pressure and very hard to set the temperature.. The hotel is right next to a night club so does get a bit loud at weekend.
4 star price 1 star more like. The room was small paper hanging off the walls and ceiling. Noise from banging door below until 1 am. Food coldish and not as described in menu. No one even bothered to ask if we wanted a dessert. Breakfast first to order 35 min wait and several others served before us. Be warned also car park not on site it's down the road and very small. If they had a good night guarantee we would have had our money back!!
Rooms not ready and rooms not worth the amount we paid
Friendly family atmosphere.
Hot water tepid in taps and shower.
Friendly, helpful staff and good value for money. A handy location for most amenities and the place is clean.
The location is very central to most amenities, which also works against it on Fri-Sun nights when noise from surrounding venues is a problem. Make sure you get a room at the rear of the hotel! Car park can be a lottery for space.
Old warm charm Close to railway Car park Lots of shops and bars nearby
Staff were more than helpful, and were amazing coping with the situation in the hotel on the second night of our stay
Location surrounded by nightclubs Fights outside hotel both nights of our stay fight inside hotel on second night of our stay, though neither were the fault of the Hotel Breakfast wasn't included in the price
Room was ok
Warm welcome and helpfulness of the staff
Noisy location externally.
Helpful Frendly Staff Great Location Close To Train Station Nice Room Good Nights Sleep
Bathroom Could Do With Updating
Very uncomfortable bed, bathroom in need of modernisation. shower broken and did not work properly.
The staff are brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, the waiting service very attentive and pleasant
The pigeons outside the room. To be fair, once I pointed this out, I was moved into another room, which was excellent.
Lack of staff in bar area Hard mattresses
It was central and convenient for my purpose. Staff were welcoming. A good pint ! The room was a good size and the Bathroom quite spacious.
There is always movement in these old wooden buildings. This necessitates the bath sealant and tile growting to be revisited on a regular basis.
The staff were polite, friendly and approchable, they did everything to make our stay comfortable.
Unfortunately the location was probably more suited to a younger couple
I liked the staff and the location was ideal for me. The rooms were very spacious.
THE SHOWERS!! I've never stayed in a hotel with such poor showers. I stayed in 4 different rooms on different floors and could only get a trickle out the showers. The temperature control was awful too. It was either scolding hot or freezing cold. Not ideal if like me you are a contractor. Considering it has had a refurb in February I find this unacceptable. The night porter told me I wasn't allowed to check out until after 7am which meant I had to come back to collect my invoice. Luckily I was working around the corner.
Was very welcoming and was very friendly as we asked them to take photos for us
the location was good , it was near the town .
Friendly welcome and helpful staff, Breakfast was excellent . Asked for and got Quiet room No noise from party downstairs An excellent hotel with easy parking facilities.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and well placed in the centre of Neath. The car park is a very short walk away.
One of the pubs across the road was blasting out loud music until about 12:30 am. Not exactly the hotel's fault, but it did not make for a very restful night.
the noise from the neighbouring bars and clubs. Shower over bath was rubbish.
Large room and modern bathroom made it very comfortable. Interior decor of the hotel lobby gives it a nice bit of atmosphere. Great proximity to shops, bars, restaurants. I would stay there again if in the area.
The local nightlife can be heard loud and clear all night from rooms at the back of the hotel. Had I not been knackered and a very deep sleeper, it might have ruined my stay.
Location food beds & TV
Wallpaper falling of the walls constant humming noise from the ducting or air con unit.
Location was good and free parking was useful.
Two single beds pushed together were extremely uncomfortable and the plastic bed protector was cheap and noisy and it was probably the worst night sleep I have had in a hotel.
