Spent 2 nights here. Staff were warm and friendly and Lily the dog was a delight. Oldest building in Chepstow with old building charm. 5 minute walk into the town centre.Thoroughly recommend staying here.
The helpful and friendly staff. A large bedroom with proper furniture although somewhat old fashioned. A bathroom with a window - a nice change from modern business hotels. We very much enjoyed our dinner.
Friendliness of staff
No car parking
Staff were very welcoming on arrival etc.
No mention anywhere about extra charge for a cooked breakfast. Also powdered milk in room for tea/coffee. Shower was rubbish.
Beautiful place, beautiful rooms, very nice pub!
Friendliness and comfortable atmosphere
Close proximity to the castle and short walk to town centre. Nice cosy room. Bed was very compfy and very large!
Lovely quaint hotel, friendly and welcoming staff, decent selection of beers, EXCELLENT food, comfortable room.
Attention to detail and efficiency of all staff. Great views of the castle and comfortable room
Nothing negative to say
Staff extremely helpful and pleasant Great Location
Does not have its own parking facilities but a pay car park is right opposite the hotel @ £3.50 a day
warm and friendley hotel with excellent staff
Room was huge
The cooked breakfast was very greasy
The location, ambience and staff of this hotel were all really good.
Friendly staff, good location, nice evening meal, comfortable
Dated room decor, feeble shower
The hotel is in a great location opposite Chepstow Castle. I stayed in the cottage suite and was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be staying there again.
Rooms could do with updating.we were above kitchen which was quite noisy!
Warm Welcome good food relaxed atmosphere.
Atmosphere The Manager's sense of humour Proximity to the town and to Chepstow Castle
I assumed that for the price of The Cottage that it would have 2 beds. It didn't - though they did pull out a very uncomfortable sofa bed. There are no 'unrivalled views' of Chepstow Castle from The Cottage room as the castle is completely obliterated by trees though you get a great view of the car park ! I would stay again but definitely would not choose The Cottage.
Room looked tired and needed freshening up and smelled musty, shower could have been better. Breakfast was bland
They looked after us (and our bicycles) very well!
Allowed us to do our laundry which was most helpful
The shower did not work properly and leaked everywhere
Bed was very comfortable. Nice room.
Some damp spots to chimney breast/wall looked unsightly.
the whole experience was wonderfull its not often you are treated in this way. We particularly liked the fact that it was a family run business and they just wanted to welcome you into the family, make sure we were happy but not over the top and no-one had attitude!
couldn't stay longer
