Hotel part was nice as was breakfast. We stayed in a separate building in the hotel grounds. Floor was squeaky and you could hear the next door guests talking.
Couldn't get WiFi in our room.
well worth the money friendly staff. good location for visiting family. food was very good. will be back again soon. many thanks.
Large room, loads of hot water at all times, clean towels. Reasonable outlook, great food good value, very friendly and helpful staff
Only a standard size bed in a 'Club' Room, would have preferred a 5 foot bed at least
The very good shower /bathroom and comfortable beds. meal in the evening: a real dressing on the salad, good steak pie and comfortable evening meal although we were the only guests: my daughter (35) and myself with no rush to see us out. To hear a donkey braying in the evening and again early in the morning.
The white mother's pride bread as toast for breakfast. Taxi told us how to get back on our course walking the canal from Edinburgh to Glasgow, info confirmed by staff, but it would be good if you had some map showing how to get back to the canal with timing for reaching it from hotel..
We had a nice room away from the hotel but had the use of the very nice Poachers bar and the lovely restaurant, which we enjoyed a full traditional breakfast each morning. The hotel is situated in a great location within easy reach of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling with lots of things to see and do. Would visit again.
had a fantastic New Year party, the staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble, will be booking for next New Year, the food is all home cooked too
Price point Location
Room not in the hotel but an adjacent building
Very large ensuite room again.Excellent value steak meal deal in Poachers bar.
Mattress getting a bit worn.Prefer to have cutlery and condiments on table before meal arrives.
The shower was excellant,
The cleaners entering both morning one knocked at 0900 hrs and the other didnt and came straight in, bed not comfortable at all, other, no detail of wifi password with issue of keys
Comfortable hotel with good Scottish grub
Good loaction just on the outskirts of Glasgow, nice spacious rooms and great food
Very handy for road link
Pre paid for two nights for two persons. We had an unfortunate set of circumstances. A burgalary at home and a sick relative. The result was only one person could stay for one night. Staff and owners were unmoved on my suggestion of a free night at a later date. The repeated response was " a contract is a contract" Breakfast was murder so wouldn't relish going back anyway!
After a long journey from Devon this was the perfect stop over before onward travelling. We had a great meal in the Poachers Bar.
Incredible value for money. Full marks for every aspect of my stay, and I will definitely recommend the hotel to friends travelling in the area.
Nothing other than the weather!
Cosy bar, lovely food, comfortable bed. Stayed many times and always enjoy our stay.
Toilets in poachers lounge need an overhaul
Perfect location for us travelling into Glasgow for the morning. Slept well, good breakfast.
Very Nice and big rooms, warm and clean and the shower was great, staff are very friendly.
Couldn't really connect to wifi in the room I was in and when it did connect it was extremely slow/unusable also no phone signal so couldn't send emails etc
We use this hotel quote often. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Food is good and location for us is brilliant
Spacious room in annexe, motel style, so car parked by room. Good steak dinner in restaurant and decent breakfast. Group has 3 rooms next to each other.
Bar was rather depressing pub style.
Home from home
Uncomfortable. Description states "boasts wifi" but it's only available in the main building. It seems to be a cheap stop for workers, so don't bother if you're looking for a short break.
Good restaurant choices. Excellent food, well presented. Pleasant and helpful staff. Good parking.
Friendly staff Open & welcoming reception area Clean, quiet room with comfortable bed.
Room lighting not good enough to read by. No ceiling lights over bed, which would be OK if bedside lights were good but although nice, the bedside lighting was too low. Worst of all though - cool to luke warm shower first thing in the morning! I ran the shower for over 5 mins but it never got near anything you could describe as hot. Just not good enough in any hotel/motel especially for an overnight stay breaking up an extremely long two day drive.
The rooms, the food, the staff and the cost.
