Spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable and superb location.
Single traveller having to pay for double room as no rooms for one available.
Lovely hotel great to have pub next door food was great would definitely stay here again and would recommend
Bed was very comfy, great views, and lovely surroundings
Although the breakfast was very high quality, £15pp was a bit steep
Staff could not be more helpful. Spotlessly clean and wonderfully comfortable beds. The choice for breakfast was very good
Whilst technically it is as described, within walking distance of town, the walk would be over 30 minutes according to the hotel staff and not recommended if you had been to town shopping or for a night out
Extremely friendly and well-trained staff, amongst the best I`ve experienced. Excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable room though small.
Room was a bit on the tight side and shower was small. Pet hate of fixed overhead shower necessitating water to be run before entering the cubicle to avoid a cold shower and no way of directing water spray once in. Easier to keep clean but not user-friendly!
Room, breakfast, service & location.
The Castle Green had everything we expected for a relaxing short break. Undoubtably the hotel and rooms are lovely but the biggest asset is the staff. Every staff member we came into contact with was polite, friendly and allways made you feel special.
There was nothing we didnt like
The reception staff, restaurant staff and fitness centre staff were all really friendly and helpful. The evening meal was outstanding.
Comfortable bed Great staff Excellent (very reasonably priced!) dinner Parking
Lack of sound proofing from corridor. (Very word spoken outside room was clearly heard) Hotel 30 minutes walk from Kendal
Steam free mirror in bathroom. View from room. Breakfast. Both restaurants.
Husband found the bed a bit soft. Strange positioning of toilet in bathroom - facing shower cubicle with not much room.
Location and Pub next door
Pillows too hard
As per usual the hotel is one of the best in the region, with all rooms nicely decorated and very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly without going over the top Only stayed the one night due to need to get home, but the hotel is ideally situated on the edge of town, but with plenty of countryside views to enjoy (when not raining!).
Disappointed with the cooked breakfast for this visit, which is normally excellent. But this time the food was lukewarm - bacon was dry, sausage, beans and mushrooms all cool. Sad to report this...
The hotel was nice good location nice tidy clean room.
Food expensive took ages to connect to wifi. Smoke area to far from room
Excellent polite staff who work very hard.
The spa and gym area is run down and old with not many good facilities. This is what we came to the hotel for and we're very disappointed.
The view and our evening meal.
The bathroom was a little cramped.
Exceptional value for money. Clean and very friendly and helpful staff.Loved the finnan haddock for brealfast with a poached egg.
Loved the way the staff put themselves out-nothing was too much trouble
There was only one small fault and that was the showers ran hot and cold. You had to be quick on your feet to dodge the cold bit!! But a mere quibble-everything else was great.
close to the lakes, good restaurant
Room rather small ,no bath ,too dear.
The food and most of the staff were good.
The room outlook was not great. And if you would like a nice table for your evening meal you may want to dress up or you will end up being put out off the way.
It was clean and comfortable, well situated and pleasant grounds and views. The food was excellent and it was nice to have the option of dining in the pub attached to the hotel. The staff couldn't have more helpful and we were well looked after
The price of the stay was reasonable but I felt breakfast should have been included in the initial price. Having said that, the breakfast was very good and reasonable priced but I still feel it should have been included in the price
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Room was a bit basic, It came as a bit of a shock when we found out breakfast was not included in the price, and even more of a shock when we were told how much breakfast cost to buy.
The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was fab! The facilities were great
The bed :-)))
hotel facilities and staff very good. food good. immaculately clean. staff very helpful
room was very small. hardly enough space to move about.
fabulous location and friendly,helpful staff
restricted hours on children using leisure facilities
