We enjoyed our short stay at the castle green hotel. Highlights are; Some great beers in the pub Pool and fitness centre Full English buffet breakfast Varied dinner in the hotel Nice views of the countryside Rooms are pretty basic, but comfortable and clean. Certainly would stay again. Some of the staff seemed a little stiff and impersonal.... Not a big deal, but a few more smiles wouldn't hurt.

Pleasant gardens. Free use of the leisure facilities. Good breakfast. The unpleasantly snooty and officious receptionist rather spoilt the atmosphere and would make me think twice about re-visiting.

The fitness club and leisure facilities were very good indeed. Overpriced, small double room for £138.00 which we paid for 1 nights stay. Reception staff and welcome was poor. Breakfast again overpriced at £12.95 per person.

Very friendly staff, great location, good facilities, choice of eating places. Ideal for short break. Rooms well equiped with great view. A little bit cramped for the price range but o.k. for a short stay. Gym/pool was good for size of hotel. Overall I would recommend this hotel but would warn anyone visiting to mind their head while making tea in the bedrooms, due to poor design a shelf has been placed at exactly the correct place to bang the head of the anyone over 5ft 4inches upto 6ft 8 inches. The staff are aware of this as I reported it to reception, no notes taken that I was aware of and while sympathetic, the attitude seemed to be "all the rooms are like that" (we see no reason to change).

Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent. I liked the explanation of how to avoid the Sunday morning breakfast rush. We had lunch in the pub which was relaxed but still good service. The wedding guests did not over crowd the hotel. I cannot honestly say I was unhappy with anything.

Just got back from the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, and I have to say it is in a good location for touring the Lake District. It is very clean and the staff were helpful and very nice. Facilities are good. Plenty of parking for your car. Very peaceful. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice. Would stay here again if we return to the Lakes.

My wife and I were very pleased with all aspects of our stay, the room was excellent, the staffs were friendly and very efficient, and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is well placed for visiting the lakes and costal resorts. In the evening we ate at the Alexander’s and the food was first rate as was the staffs. We could not fault the breakfasts or the pleasant staff even that early in the morning. We shall definitely be recommending the hotel to our friends and will be returning ourselves in the future. Nothing

Staff were excellent and very friendly. location was great and the facilities were also good. Having the pub on-site is a real draw and we ate in there 2 nights out of 3. Breakfasts were very good with a varied choice. It was also close enough to Kendal also and other attractions. Leisure facilities were also good and well maintained as were the gardens. Enjoyed watching the wedding taking place. Plenty parking on-site and hotel easy to find. The drink prices in the hotel and the pub were a bit expensive and put us off a little. You may also want to look at some weekend entertainment in Alexanders as it could work well.e.g. Singer/acoustic gituarist. Would also be good to have a jacuzzi in the pool area. Again, drink prices were a bit off putting. More people would enjoy your bar area if not so expensive.

We were travelling with my 85 year old father and his wife, the pub was an excellent eating place for those with a smaller appitite, they could have a starter as a main course. The staff were also very friendly.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a bar meal and breakfast both were excellent. We arrived expecting a twin room but had been allocated a double, this was no problem and it ws sorted within 20 mins. The hotel had two large functions on which in other hotels this might have affected service etc - it didn'T. Everything came within minutes. Attention to detuial and nothing too much trouble. Beautiful gardens and great views.

Plenty of friendly staff, especially at mealtimes. Very comfortable lounge and rooms. Excellent grounds for walking in a nice location. One of the best Best Western hotels we have stayed in. Rather narrow road access to reception at the rear. Disliked fixed shower head in cubicles which were on the small size.

We loved the hotel and would recommend. The staff were all very friendly, the facilities were excellent. We ate in the hotel pub, and the food was very good. We used the gym and pool facilities which were very good for a hotel. The location is great, less than 5 mins drive from Kendal town, the views were spectacular. Can't wait to visit again! Excellent value for money!

I have stayed at Castle Green before and was impressed with the hotel. My second visit didn't disappoint, if anything my experience was better. Good hearty pub grub in Alexanders and good quality. I was staying on a business trip but I would be equally happy to use this hotel as a base for a holiday in the area.
