Castleton Hotel

Henkilökunta oli hyväntuulista ja palvelualtista. Vaikka huone oli 3 hengelle ahdas, se oli silti toimiva ja rauhallinen sekä siisti. Aamupala tarjolla hotellin alakerrassa.

Ahtaanlainen suihku-/ WC-tila. Vaateripustustilan vähäisyys.

Hotelli on rauhallinen. Äänieristys on hyvä. Pyyhkeet vaihdettiin päivittäin. Huone oli siisti. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja palvelualtista. Aamiainen oli maistuva ja tarjoiltiin pöytiin sujuvasti (muroja, pekonia ja munia, papuja, makkaraa, paahtoleipää ja marmeladeja, teetä, kahvia, tuoremehua). Erinomainen sijainti reilu 100 m Paddingtonin metroasemalta, yhtä lyhyt matka kätevän bussi 23:n pysäkille ja tuplamatka Hyde Parkin puistoon, kävelymatka Oxford Streetin kauppoihin esim. Marks & Spencer tai edullinen Primark (H&M:n kaltainen tai jopa edullisempi).

Hotellivaraustamme ei löytynyt. Annoin tulosteen varauksestamme, jossa tosin oli paljon suomen kieltä. Saimme hyvän huoneen, tosin ensimmäistä tarjottua emme ottaneet vastaan, sillä siellä oli kaksoissänky - tulosteessamme luki toive: "Varaajan kommentit Twin bed, please" ja ymmärtääkseni twin tarkoittaa kahta erillistä sänkyä, vastaanottoherra jopa moitti, ettei saa merkitä twin, jos haluaa kaksi erillistä. Suihkutila oli niin pikkuruinen, että kyynärpäät kolisivat seiniin, mutta vain sen takia en toki lähtisi hotellivalintaani vaihtamaan.

Pidin siitä, että huone oli siisti. Samoin kylpyhuone. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä niin vastaanotossa kuin aamiaishuoneessakin.

Yhden hengen huone oli järkyttävän pieni. En ole koskaan ollut niin pienessä huoneessa. En tietenkään pitänyt siitäkään, että heinäkuun helteillä piti kiivetä neljänteen kerrokseen... Oliko siellä hissi rakenteilla vai huollossa -en ole varma.

Perushotelli. Sopii matkustajalle joka käy hotellissa vain nukkumassa. Huone oli siisti mutta pieni ja kylppäri vielä pienempi, täytti kuitenkin tarkoituksensa. Sijainti loistava, lähellä Paddingtonin asemaa, mistä yhteys Heathrown lentokentälle. Henkilökunta ystävällistä, aamiainen hyvä, halvahko hinta. Ei luteita, joita kuulemma on jossain Lontoon keskitason hotelleissa.

poor breakfast, some people at the reception were rude, the person who cleaned my room misetakenly took one of my towels, the shampoo in the bathroom was not changed for 5 days

I was quite surprised that the first thing I saw when I went into the room was a toilet seat. There was no door to go into the toilet probably to save the space of the door... the shower was just a box in a small room and it was such a weird feeling to sip a cup of tea while looking at a toilet seat. I felt as if I was sleeping in a bath room. What was worse was the air condition was "out of order"..it was written that way so the hotel was aware of it. I asked for a change as it was freezing cold but the new room's air condition was not functioning either

Great location in relation to Paddington Station, very clean and comfortable but quite compact. People with obesity or mobility issues may have trouble using the somewhat compact shower.

Good location 2 min. from Paddington underground station, very easy to find, seems a pleasant neighbourhood. Small but clean room, comfortable bed with real duvet (not the dreaded blankets you often get in London). I'm small and slim and don't mind, but it's fair to warn larger people that the bathrooms, although clean and new, are truly tiny. I think a larger person might be really uncomfortable and more or less unable to move around, the depth of the bathroom is about 90-100 cm wall to wall.

The lift was out of order during my stay, which I don't mind in itself, but they were having the railings at the stairs painted during the same period, which meant that manouvering with a suitcase while avoiding to get paint on one's clothes was somewhat challenging, as the stairs are standard narrow British stairs.

Location is quite close to tube and train station. A lift is available in this hotel.

Nice staff. Great location. Clean and tidy. Perfect if you plan to not stay in the rooms during the day.

Rooms are compact, but its not a problem unless you are bringing lots of luggage or plan to spend lots of time there. Our bathroom was tiny.

The location is fantastic, close to tube station and buses.

The shower is tiny, acould not extend my elbows without hitting the sides of it.
