A few minutes' walk from Paddington Station and near to Hyde Park and Madame Tussauds, this Victorian listed building is a small, family-run hotel offering bed and breakfast.

The staff was excellent, and very accomadating for our needs. Very easy to find the hotel, just down the street from Paddington station.
Beds were not especially wide. The breakfast was quite limited. The room lacked surface where we could have stowed our stuff
Proximity to Paddington Station. Cleanliness of room and bed comfortable. Staff friendly. Breakfast OK.
Tiny bathroom - similar to a touring caravan so not suitable for the larger visitor.
This was our second stay at this hotel and I have to say it was excellent. I asked for a quiet room as my husband was having a small op whilst in London and we were given an excellent comfortable room. The staff were immediately asking if we were ok and if everything was to our liking. Breakfast again was exceptional. I will be booking again soon and highly recommend this hotel.
Nothing was not to like, room, food and staff were first class.
Family rooms are located in the basement, next to the noisy and smelly kitchen. It is below standard and it was not indicated in the room information before reservation. Be carefull.
- friendly front desk - good wifi, at least for communication - near to public facilities
- unfriendly staff in breakfast lounge
The bathroom is too small and tight
Location was strategic for trains and buses. Lots of restaurants nearby.
The room was dark. Bathroom a bit on the small side.
Bathroom was exceptionally small. Shower area horribly cramped. Leak from roof right above toilet. Tea/coffee facility on very small shelf. Beds very uncomfortable. Poor lighting. Furniture old & musty. Decor pathetic. Breakfast only upto 9am. Could not bear to stay more than one night.
Location, price, and the staff
Location 5min to Paddington, wifi ok.
Not many selection as English breakfast, no porridge, no mushroom.
Absolutely lovely staff, incredibly friendly and helpful, made the stay very enjoyable. My room was tiny, but a very good value for money and impeccably clean. Location is fantastic, literally a stone's throw from Paddington.
The Wifi was a bit spotty at times and the breakfast was quite basic.
the washroom was too small and the room was smelly.. I had a feeling that the room was a bit dirty...
The worse room ever!
Great location and staff very helpful
Street traffic noise, people noise, noise from adjacent rooms and above.
Staff very friendly, amazing location.
Room very small, no vegetarian option for breakfast.
good value, location, reasonable breakfast, clean. As good as you'll get for the price in London
Small room, tiny shower room, which was basically a converted cupboard and a bit smelly. Noisy street meaning window had to be closed but room very warm. It's what you get at this price.
it was one of the only hotels available on that particular evening
the hotel room was shocking, one single 20w bulb to light the entire room, a tiny little tv mounted on a bracket, bathroom was ok, poor water pressure tho, its a walk from anywhere too.
1. Wonderful Breakfast 2. Friendly staff 3. Ideal location for travellers using Paddington Station 4. Ideal location to variety of eating places
1. The lift is claustrophobic 2. The shower area provides a big challenge to guests wearing Size 24. 3. No food available for guests arriving after dinner time or when restaurants/eating outlets are closed.
The Castleton offers more than adequate accommodation plus breakfast at a very reasonable price. Our room was clean, the beds comfortable and WiFi very good. It's not a luxury hotel but if you're mainly out & about in London, it's perfect! The Paddington tube station is 3 minutes away and takes you everywhere in & about London. Hyde Park is nearby, as are a full range of restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at the Castleton which, by British standards, is a very acceptable hotel for its price.
The breakfast was quite good. Central location.
The room was tiny, with a double bed squeezed in, it meant there is no room to even stand. The bathroom is a plastic cubicle. Basement room was very claustrophobic, but was flatly refused option of moving to any other room. Rodents in the roof space, started scratching at dusk and kept up throughout the night
The location, very close to paddington station. Reception staff very friendly. Shops pubs and places to eat close by.
Breakfast staff could be more pleasant. No fruit or poached eggs for breakfast. Bedroom extremely small, but fine as we didnt spend much time in it. Would not put me off staying again though.
The hotel was pretty basic, clean & quiet, location is excelent, the breakfast was better than expected, very good value for money. Was only a short stay.
Location. The breakfast was not exceptional, but enough to keep you happy for 3-4 hours.
My room 103 was next to the reception, with people going on in the hotel and on the street, so I naturally had a feeling I was sleeping on the street. The room for 1 is for a small person like myself (155cm and 50kg), and the bed was exactly my height. The aircon was opposite the head, so i got cold next day.
Reception staff was polite
The smallest room I have ever stayed in, it was like a closet, and to top this of the window was located towards the pavement, felt like people were talking in your ear all night, the by far worst place I have stayed at in London.
