Rude staff on phone, when they can be bothered to answer it. Noise No door on bathroom Filthy carpets
No hot water, shower did not work, bumpy bed, smelly sheets & covers and dirty carpets.
There was nothing to like. Room was dirty, pillows had blood on them. Shower was mouldy and had never been cleaned. Every surface was stained.
This place should be shut down. Why trading standards, locals and the city council allow this place to carry on trading shows how little they must care.
Everything from scruffy exterior, no lights working in room, window boarded up, very unsafe!
A very short walk into town. Door codes sent through early.
Strong smell of smoke and damp which never went.Muddy carpet and yellow stains on valance graffiti on headboard and womens hair in bed. Did email issues on arrival but never got a response.
We turned up and there was electricity this was fixed within 10 minutes however there was a bulb out in the bathroom, the maintence staff didn't have one. They continued to joke about it,, not very professional.
Over all clean and tidy, good position.
TV lead was damaged and TV failed to work. There was music and shouting going on until very early in the morning. Sounded like youngsters in nearby rooms having a party.
Carpets and duvets dirty, the whole room smelt disgusting!!! There was a constant party in every single room so we weren't able to fall asleep. In the end we preffered to sleep in our car rather than the room, I'm extremely disappointed! The pictures provided were far away from the actual look of the place. You should be ashamed of even letting your customers stay in such conditions!! Waste of money and time, we want our money back!
Location..We have been to the MjB previously,The room we had this time was far better than the previous times we visited!
No bedside table.poor lighting.noisy people in room above.Room never serviced during our stay, but knowing this,we were prepared with tea-bags,powdered milk etc.
It was comfort cosy room at a responsible price
It would have been nicer if the windows weren't covered up
Building, rooms, location, bed comfort, silence.
Cleanliness could be better. Bathroom not so clean.
The good thing was kettle in a room and tv
Small tiny room.. I did not get a hotel which i booked on webside. The manager directed me to the diferent bulding on different street which was qouti inconvinient for me.
Booked into the wrong room. Aggresive parking notices. Lack of available on site staff. Filthy outdoor and lobby area. Front door left permanently open by other 'guests'. Dirty rooms. Shower not working. Used condom wrappers by the bed. No cord on the window blind so unable to see out. We resorted to going for a 7am swim at the UEA baths rather than use our disgusting bathroom. Left a day early - didn't bother complaining [see other reviews]. Booked rooms without reading said reviews and based on a previous happy stay at MJB executive accomodations. Never again, marriage now in crisis!
We liked the room all in all. It was quite clean and the bed was comfy. the bathroom was all we required from a bathroom and the location was straight forward and easy to find.
We arrived quite late and went straight to bed. However at 3 o'clock we were woken by the guests in the next room. There must have been at least 4 of them and they were very rowdy. It sounded like they were drinking and because it was a hot night all the windows were open and it was very loud. I didn't want to go and say anything as like i said they were very rowdy and didnt want any trouble. Just as they settled down at about 5.30 am the fire alarm went off. We along with the other guests all had to wait outside for nearly an hour before someone came to sort out the alarm. By the time we got back to bed it was 6.30. Apparently because the front door wouldnt shut properly someone had come in and smashed the alarm. Considering the hotel was booked for us as a peaceful night away for our 3rd wedding anniversary, it wasnt the peaceful night we were expecting. We're used to being woken up in the night by our baby and were looking forward to a night of undisturbed sleep.
It was both handy for Norwich centre also for Barford lakes where we were fishing a festival.
I submitted the car registrations when we arrived but still got a £100 parking ticket on the car even though I got confirmation from the office when I arrived they had received the registration numbers. The codes on the doors I was sent didn't correspond so I had to phone the office yet again for new codes. One of my party in their own room had no electricity for 24 hours.
unfortunately, nothing at all!
- blood/faeces/urine stained bed & bedding - covered in hairs - bathroom full of dead flies & green gunge - smelled of urine & foist - cracked windows/no curtains/covered in vinyl & paint, unable to open (where did the flies come from?!) - unhelpful staff Would rather sleep in a pig sty (with the pigs)!
One room was disgustingly dirty and the shower facilities were not working. The room stank and ,it was awful. 2 times we were fined without reason. The staff was not very helpful. Also the e-mail with the code was sent to a wrong address. All in all very annoying stay.
Everything. I had to look for another Hotel immediately on just looking at the facilities
Nothing at all
The receptionist was rude with no telephone manners at all. room was dirty with lots of dust duvet had stains on it , very dirty, bed was broken. infact am going to take this matter further. The room was not cleaned at all for the 4nights we were there. To
I arrived in the room to discover the sheets ripped. The toilet broken (flusher wouldn't work). The sink cracked. While the codes on the doors were a smart idea, there was a back door left open at all times rendering the front door security redundant. When I emailed my complaints I received no reply. A man did come to try to fix the toilet to no avail, leaving me with a broken one for the whole of my stay. Aside from this one fleeting glimpse of a staff member there were none other to report to.
the location was handy as we were visiting family and we were close to the city. the price was very good value.
there was no reception staff around incase of emergencies or fights breaking out between guests. the fridge in my room didnt work and when you opened it, there was an horrendous smell. the towels you were given wouldnt cover half of me. on my last night i had no lights in the room or bathroom and no signal on my t.v so because i had a 6 year old who doesnt like the dark we had to stay somewhere else.
As basic a package as you are likely to get
Details for car parking registration is a little more complicated than it needs to be. Basically, you get an e-mail with a door code rather than a key. That message, sent the day of checking in, then contains details about needing to text your car reg to a certain number. This information was not displayed clearly anywhere else and a hefty fine is linked if you don't register.
I've often stayed in MJB properties, but not for a year or so. This visit found it really shabby, and during a one week stay the fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night.Annoying for all concerned but when the'staff' arrived to turn it off, he was actually threatening until asked his name when he made himself scarce. Ok, it's well located and cheap, but next time in Norwich I shall pay a little more and sleep a lot better.
Very rude staff. Dirty room with bad smell. You can tell beds have not been changed for a long time. Imagine yourself staying in a room with no windows and smelly carpets and bathroom. It was a nightmare....!! Never again.
