Close to all the important places I wished to visit and see.
I am 6ft tall and 14st, and found the shower cubicles very tight.
My room overlooked the Cathedral, and I could see it lit up while I was in bed. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, carrying my bags up the 4 flights of stairs. The room was small, but sufficient, and the bathroom in the hall was clean and modern. The breakfast was excellent, also.
There was a green emergency light on the ceiling that glowed in the dark right over the bed. I was told later that it can be covered.
We booked a room with shared bathroom and we must say that all the bathrooms and wc available were very clean. The hotel is located in the city center, next to all the main attractions and restaurant. Despite the location we had a very good night of sleep. We were not disturbed at all by the noise.
Loved the location and the staff were very helpful
The green light over my bed. I had no idea I needed a cover for it. It would have been nice to be told that ahead
good location, helpful staff, clean bathrooms, nice bedroom, great view of cathedral, very nice breakfast. excellent value for money.
the safety light in bedroom stayed on all night. it was fluorescent green which hindered my sleep a little.
Central location fab views of cathedral
Noisey if in front rooms late at night overlooking street
1. Strategic location for shoppers. 2. Breakfast
Noisy during late night and early hours
Old world style of building. Location really excellent, right next door to the cathedral. The staff were happy to look after my luggage before I checked in and after I left, which was very helpful.
Room right at the top. I was not asked in advance if I had a disability and the stairs were very steep. Fortunately, I managed. Lorries and dustcarts make their delivery at 6.30am. It is not possible to sleep later.
Brilliant view of a flood-lit cathedral from my top floor single room, only a hundred, or less, yards away. Quiet peaceful room. Excellent "Continental" breakfast and superior to any "English" one I might have chosen. Happy and cooperative staff, both senior and junior. I would be very pleased to stay there again.
Nothing to report under this heading!
Quaint, nice old building built in something like 1348. Nice staff and of course the location is great
Bathroom was a bit outdated with a shower head at waist height which made it difficult to shower. The TV was very small too which isn't a huge deal unless it's raining I suppose.
Location was very good.
The shower in the bathroom of the family room (Barn) did not work at all: The water was WHETHER hot OR cold. This is an issue which should be solved urgently.
central location and proximity to the Cathedral
Trinity room overlooked the street and it was very noisy on Saturday night
Friendly atmosphere , complimentary tea or coffee outside. Big fluffy white towels . Location and view of Cathedral .
Rickety table ,overhead light not working . Tiny shower room and bathroom. Noise from outside nightclub and pub until early hours of morning.
Sound proof windows air conditioning in the summer and bathroom with hOOks tO hang at least the towel oŕ bathrope
Too many steps threading from door to door too confusing
The place was cleant regularly and i had a wonderful view of the cathedral
Location Comfort of bed Nice staff Quirky hotel
No bathroom in rooms (but I assume that's due to the age of the building)
The view and hotel’s personnel.
The noise! My window was looking at the street. Double glaze windows could be the answer to that problem.
The breakfast was the best one my husband had ever had, and he has had a lot of hotel breakfasts! The bed was superb - very comfortable. Lovely staff.
Be prepared for some stairs and a quirky route to the rooms. Reminded us of hotels in Paris which is fine!
The view from the sound proof window, clean bathroom only 2 steps from my room that had a vanity. Excellent breakfast and very good value. Superb location with parking available nearby .
Location, charming old building with heritage, friendly and family run
staff weren't always available
Very friendly staff Beautiful location Breakfast very tasty and plentiful
Single room very basic. Only two plug sockets and one was for the TV Shower room was tiny Got very noisy with all tourists collecting outside to see the Cathedral.
Smack in the middle if town, literally at the Canterbury Cathedral. Excellent location. A few meters from the Canterbury bus station and not too far from the Canterbury East Train station. A great continental breakfast, optionally in bed at no extra cost.
It was quite a bit costly during my time there. Then again it was peak time during graduation week with a lot of students around. Check in at 3 PM is a bit late, though they will keep your luggage for you.
Was sold a parking voucher after telling reception where I was parked. Got a parking ticket as the voucher did not cover the carpark I was in, why ask where I was parked and then sell me a voucher that didnt cover that car park?. Shower room in a cupboard and water cold and water didn't drain. Carpet filthy. Window didnt close. Had to share a toilet which was in the hall. Overall a poor experience.
I loved the charm this building had. The staff was great. The food was excellent. Something about this place kept us smiling. Never been in a hotel with such old history to it. I appreciated the narrow hallways and steep stairs and cracking floors. It was quite an experience indeed !!
Some plumbing issues in bathroom which made the experience even more entertaining. Issues were beyond the control of the staff but were addressed timely.
