A lot of the rooms have shared bathroom and toilet facilities - this is due to the nature of the extremely old building which has preservation orders I understand, so cannot be changed without permission from the 'Cathedral'. I must say, though, that both the shower and the toilets I used were sparkling clean, and I think checked regularly.
For the Continental breakfast, I would have preferred buffet style, so you could see what was on offer and choose.
Location was wonderful and also the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building is full of history and I think is the second oldest in Canterbury - 15th Century I gathered (forgiving the sloping floors, no lift, and other minor inconveniences is easy if you think of this!)
Fantastic view of the Cathedral from the small, comfy, lounge at the back (with quite a good library if you want to borrow a book) and there is also door leading out to a couple of small sitting areas which probably give the best views of the Cathedral you could hope to wish for.
