great location tasty breakfast friendly, helpful staff
great to have a parking space but entrance to car park quite tight.
Friendly and helpful owners. Modern mixed with old world charm. Close to cathedral and old town. Only 15 minutes walk to the new city centre.
Bit noisy on Saturday night due to wedding at the hotel across the way.
Stayed in adjoining annex It was cold and a bit bare looking The bedding was very heavy but we slept well and it kept us warm There was an additional heater which we had to use . It was fine for a night or two and breakfast was lovely
Parking facility was not good. Very tight fitting car park
The primary reason for going to Lincoln was to see the Cathedral and the guest house where we stayed was very close to it. The Cathedral was excellent and I would rate it among the top three in England. Although we had visited Lincoln before the Cathedral was closed on that occasion, because it was being used to film the Da Vinci Code. The facilities and the breakfast was very good. Cathedral View is in a good position to explore Lincoln's ancient streets and gave us opportunities to see parts of the city we had missed before.
Our room at Cathedral view was a ground floor location and it meant that we had to keep the lower shutters closed for privacy.
location stopped in king room, full of character, spotlessly clean. breakfast good host friendly
Location , Hospitality , bedding , Views , breakfast ,
This B&B is a lovely place to stay; the owner very accommodating and helpful as was the housekeeper who showed us our room. The building has been tastefully renovated to a high standard, whilst retaining lots of original features.
This is not a complaint as I know it can't be helped due to the original windows that can't be changed; the front bedroom we stayed in is over the road and is a lovely room; however, whilst quiet in the dead of night, was noisier before 07.00 and into the wee hours.
We were only there for one night..but found everthing excellent and will definitely stay again!
Nothing to dislike about it!
This is a very comfy, quirky guest house. The staff were lovely and their was a good choice at breakfast .
nothing to dislike here .
I have stayed here before, and had no hesitation in booking again. the rooms are very nice, but not sterile, given the age and history of the building. I will no doubt be booking again when next in Lincoln.
The location is superb and the house has character. The room and bathroom was clean and the bed very comfortable. Friendly staff.
Single glazed windows with broken catches so the street noise could not be shut out. Parking is through a 'tight entrance' and turning is also 'tight',. Breakfast lacked zing. No fresh fruit, a small dish with limited butters, jams, marmalades etc.. Over cooked scrambled egg and bacon. A small teapot for two. If you wanted more it was never a problem but it gave the impression of being 'carefully costed'.
Location Room Everything
Just about everything. Paul was a great host. Great breakfast, great location, clean rooms. If you get the loft room with the exposed beams, which is gorgeous, make sure you are not a tall person as I bumped my head a few times even while watching out....
Welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent, room and breakfast. Perfect position for touring Lincoln and surrounding area.
The friendliness of the staff is a great asset!
Location about as close to the cathedral and historical Lincoln as it is possible to be Nice clean room and bathroom Friendly owner and staff Lovely breakfast
Check in closes at 7pm (but owner left our key out for us!)
Perfect cleanliness & great detail in dining room for breakfast. Owners also really nice. Loved it.
No place to put sponge & soap & our own things in shower area. All had to go on floor.
Charming hostess, great breakfast, convenient location, comfortable bed, spacious room, spacious bathroom, lots of water pressure and hot water in shower.
not enough light to read in bed or common room.
Old style Modern Comforts Good shower Comfy bed Lots of space in the rooms Good Breakfast Great friendly people
Old buildings are irregular, slanted, quirky and a bit noisy (I quite like, but being helpfully honest)
Perfect position for visiting Cathedral, with excellent restaurant's in walking distance
We had a wonderful time in Lincoln, specifically due to this guest house. The owner is wonderful. Excellent service, fantastic breakfast, beautiful rooms - right in the centre of Lincoln! When we return, we will certainly stay at cathedral view again.
There is NOTHING we could possibly complain about!!
Frfiendly and warm welcome by the owner. Super location that is on the doorstep of the Cathedral and Castle.
We were in room 1 which is at street level. Although there are shutters, the ambient noise interupted our sleep.
Friendly staff Good breakfast Good location Why stay in a bland chain hotel
Host Paul was very friendly and welcoming. Place to park. Right next to the cathedral and near to lovely restaurants. Good breakfast, well cooked.
Bells are quite loud on the side if the building we were on. I didn't mind it but my husband didn't get much sleep.
