Great accommodation, lovely location and the most wonderful hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble! Delicious breakfasts, friendly atmosphere and a wonderful place for a quiet mini-break. Also, lots to do in the surrounding area for all ages.

While we were still on our way to Catwell house, Rebecca, the warm-hearted landlady, called us and warmly advised us to go to a place for dinner she knew of on the way to her house, since the the pubs accept last orders only until 8.30 pm. Arriving rather late Rebeccas husband Ross did welcome us really friedly. The country house is great and the annex as well as the main house have been caring refurbished and decorated. English breakfast was freshly made individually by Rebecca or Ross every morning due to our wishes. Spending three nights in this house, we got the chance to experience and value the calmness and beauty of surrounding nature - which unfortunately included some spiders in our room ;-) Of course there are also a lot of historic villages to admire and taking a bath in the ocean was a great pleasure. Referring to this Ross can give you great tips. We can really recommend this accommodation and we would like to thank Ross and Rebecca for making this an unforgettable staying! I really miss your humor, Ross! ☺

The welcome and friendlessnes was second to none, I cannot thank Ross and Becca enough for making me so welcome. I would highly recommend this B&B to others, idealic location and lovely place. The bed was one of the best I have slept in (including mine)!! and beautiful breakfast included.

If i were to be a little critical, the floor above the Monksilver is a little noisy when someone is upstairs. But thats it,

the warm welcome, the well appointed comfortable warm room, the delicious breakfast, plus the charming hosts.

the un-adopted lane to the property was full of pot holes but that was not the fault of the owners but a bit of a blot on an otherwise marvellous stay.

I strongly recommend this property. We stayed in the barn conversion which is just lovely. The room is spacious with an enormous comfortable bed, wet room and own entrance. The hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. My husband commented it was the best cooked breakfast he had had. Please visit this property, the location is superb for both walking and trips on the south west steam railway line.
