Nothing, the room was a cabin single and to say it was a cabin is an insult. a cabin in a ship has more room and is probably cleaner, the shower didn't work properly the draught coming in the window was a joke, I had to get a cover from the so called wardrobe and try and block it out....to no avail, it is the worst hotel in the world!!

size of room was absurd. it was a hall way, with a door inserted at one end to make a 'bedroom'

No way is this a 4* hotel, I have never stayed anywhere as bad as this! The room was on the 3rd. Floor, no lift, no offer of carrying bags up for a solo O.A.P. The shower room sink had a big crack running all the way through it, the window sill and frame were rotten with wood missing, there was a hole in the net curtain and it was impossible to open the 1 window because the curtain rail went across it! There was a 7" diameter hole in the ceiling by the window and to view the wall mounted T.V. you had to sit on the floor or get a stiff neck from sitting on the bed. The stair carpet was threadbare in lots of places and I have photos of all these problems. I should have been payed to stay there - if I hadn't paid on arrival I would not have stayed.

Nothing! Standing in the middle of the room, I could touch all four walls, without moving my feet...literally! Bed was like a rock! Bathroom was only 10 square feet. Bathroom and room together, only 50 square feet! Worst Hotel I've ever stayed at!!! Everything! In addition to cramped quarters--no closet, no desk, nowhere to set bag or take off shoes without tripping, there was a few centimeters thick layer of mold on the bathroom vent. Rude staff, cramped quarters. rock hard bed, couldn't see the TV because of the angle, all together equals worst Hotel I've ever stayed at!!!

No refund policy! The stair carpet was so badly worn that it had several holes in it. The first room was so small and dirty I complained. The second room was bigger but the carpet needed replacing as it looked filthy along with the skirting boards. The garden photos are of the hotel next door I think, as this garden was completely overgrown. At breakfast, the cutlery was stained, I had to swap my cup for a clean one and the wall was covered in grease splatters. The waitresses wore white jackets that were almost grey. My poached egg was off, the sausage was tiny and also off, the beans were cold and the bacon tasted like it had been deep fried in the cheapest oil possible. This hotel is supposed to be 4 Star but I can't see how, it's an absolute dump and to be charged £155 for one night is an absolute disgrace!

Hotel front of staff were not friendly on arrival. Room did not have enough room for 3. Barhroom had loose fittings. Breakfast room didn't have enough tables to seat all guests so they were queuing on the stairs waiting for other guests to finish, then when breakfast came it was disappointing. When we came back later that day, it seemed the room had been cleaned but on closer inspection the top covers had just been pulled up over the crumpled sheets which had not been straightened. Overall a poor hotel.

This hotel is absolutely filthy, I kept feeling the need to scratch and itch all over... The room was very basic in need of modernising, the linen smelt weird, I can't quite put my finger on what it is. The stairs near reception, was also filthy brown, muddy look, in need of a good clean, peoples footprints on the stairs and they were still there the next day??overall I would not stay there again.

The hotel was warm and inviting. The staff were pleasant and unobtrusive. The hotel was clean and smelled clean. The carpet was a little shabby bt since it was an old house, the stairs weren't very deep. The locality of the hotel was superb, in walking distance of everything we needed. We had always stayed in larger hotels however we will use this hotel again.

The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them We were in the lower floor, nice room but a little noisy around breakfast time as we could hear the staff talking as it was next to the breakfast room and kitchen however this only happened the first night as I don't think they realised anyone was staying in the room.

The hotel room I had was one of the tiniest unpleasant bad room I've ever experienced so far. The moquette was dirty, room keys were broken, hair dryer was broken, the heating was off. No good wi-fi connection, a lot of noise from the street. No 4 stars quality at all!!!

Good Breakfast. The room is very very small. The room has no rubbish bin, and is not clean enough. The towels have smells; bed cover and matress have stains. As the room at the ground floor has a rear glass door with poor lock, you will feel very unsafe during your stay. The room is not worth for the charge at all.

Terrible hotel. Very, very small rooms. We were given a room in the basement next to the kitchen and the breakfast room. The shouts and yells from the staff in the kitchen woke up us at 6:50 and the room was invaded by the smell of fried bacon. Futhermore, we could not open the curtains of the window because the "view" was the kitchen's courtyard full of rubish. We booked a triple room. Well, in the Cavendish Hotel a triple room is made of two beds put toguether with an extra pillow. It's shameful for the cavendish hotel to charge people for a room like this.

Its not wrong when it describes the room as "compact", but it was clean and surved its purpose. I would stay here again if I had friends to meet for the evening but its not the sort of room you would relax in after a day out in London. Its a good "crash pad".

Price V quality. Location Free Wifi (with good reception from the room we stayed in). Our room could be cleaner. Minor issues (remote control not working, not enough coffee and water in the room upon arrival) had to be rectified which when the room would have been properly inspected prior to the guests arriving could have easily be avoided.

The staff were really friendly and really helpful with directions the guys on reception were really helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Location was perfect. Quiet hotel. Nice tea and coffee making facilities in room - good for exercise as we were on top floor and there was no lift. 10 min walk to Oxford street and feels very safe around the hotel. Not being able to check in until 14.00 - stayed in room 306 the mattress 's could do with being changed you could feel the springs through them. Loose tiles on bathroom floor. No double rooms left so had to book the triple room but did'nt get 3 breakfast's !!!! did ask could they reduce the rate of the room as there was only 2 of us but they said no !!

Appalling hotel. 3 adults, a double bed and a sofabed thY had seen far better times. The hotel should advise guests that there isn't 3 beds. The carpets are threadbare and the breakfast thY came was not whY we ordered and had to be changed twice. I would never recommend this h otel for anyone.

The shower was surprisingly okay, warm and enough water coming out the shower head. The room was so tiny that you basically couldn't walk if you have luggage with you. You can't even sit straight on the toilet as the wash basin is in the way.
