Hotel Cavendish was in a great place for visiting all the hot spots of Brussels. It is walking distance to Grand Place and other major attractions and the Annessens metro stop is literally right outside the door. The staff was friendly to travelers and provided directions when asked. There is staff available 24 hours a day. The room with private bath was plenty spacious for one traveler and could probably even fit two.

As a hostel in a town known for partying, I assumed I may have loud young people in adjacent rooms. However, I ended up having a loud family next door, which was particularly annoying for me as I had come to Brussels for fun and screaming kids are no fun with a hangover. It seemed like that was not the only family residing in the place, but they probably aren't all so noisy. Also, I would avoid the breakfast (if you do get it, go early).

I was amazed to find such a good room, with a full english breakfast, for such a good price, so close to central London. This was an excellent deal.

Good location. Cheap. Generally clean and quiet. Reliable, free wireless internet access. Had safe in room. Breakfast good but small. Overall, good quality hotel in this location for this price.

I was in single 'compact' room and really was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Ensuite, but overall 9ft by 6ft approx. Saying that, I had no need for extra space and was happy with room. TV had only 5 channels.

I cannot say anything was outstanding at the Hotel.

Very poor breakfast. The full english consisted of 2 cocktail sausages and a spoonful of baked beans, and the scrambled egg was overcooked. The waitress was totally disinteresed when I complained. I have never been served with such a small portion of breakfast.

absolutely nothing!! The concierge was friendly and helpful. Other than that I havent seen a hotel like that since travelling in Turkey in the seventies. It needs total refurbishment. Its filthy and unfit for purpose.

Staff was friendly and responsive to my complaints. WLAN access is included in the price and works well.

It seems that the bathroom facilities (specifically showers) in some of the rooms are not really up-to-date. Due to rather restricted breakfast times (7.30-9.30 am) and the rather small breakfast room, guests wanting to breakfast around 9 am may have to queue and wait (10-15 min!) until other guests have finished their breakfast. This happened to me on two out of four mornings.

found the staff very unhelpful and not very customer friendly, my first reason is we ordered breakfast and ended up waiting over an hour for it, when we said it to the waitress she did not beliveve us and was quite aggressive, secondly the person that stayed in the cabin room could only stay on the saturday night as she had to fly home on the sunday, she cancelled the room on the wednesday and thrusday , the quy at the reception she spoke to said this was fine but when it came time to pay she had to pay for both nights, i had also sent an e mail cancelling the room on the tuesday the 24th, they said the room was sold as a 2 night package ,this was not on their internet site and the guy she spoke to made no mention of this. very poor service

I most liked the location and the price.

Easy late check in when tired and reception staff very polite and kindly carried my bag up the stairs. .All necessary facilities in room. Excellent location within walking distance from Euston and my business meeting in Tavistock Square. Very good value for money with the inclusion of English breakfast. Will stay next time.

Thermos flask of hot water was provided instead of a kettle and as I was late mine was only tepid. Shower room also slightly cold though bedroom (cabin single) temperature was fine. Not enough tables available at breakfast (although I got the last one I noticed other people had to wait).

the bed rolled away from the wall when you sat up to watch telly!
