very good staff
lack of GROUND decaffinated coffee!
Room was kept spotless every day.
I enjoyed the sea front location, the beautiful building and atmosphere. Staff were very professional and attentive.
Although not unsatisfactory, there are few things about breakfast which could have been better: it was priced quite high (£10), and for such a high price I would have expected better quality sausages and more choice... There was a choice of either buffet breakfast or the "cooked to order" one, so you could not order freshly cooked eggs unless paying extra..Items such as fried eggs became dried while on the hot holding tray and it does not take a lot of time to fry eggs...Also, there was no decaffeinated filter coffee available for breakfast (but it was on sale at the bar...)
My boyfriend and I were blown away by the Cavendish. The room was spacious, beautiful and very comfortable with a brilliant view. The bed was enormous. The breakfast was amazing and was beautifully cooked.
Reception and bar staff were excellent. The room was large and in a quiet area of the hotel. The quality of the bar food was excellent and the cost was very reasonable.
The staff were exceptional. From the greeting at Reception through to the spa and cleaning staff, everyone we met was friendly and most helpful. They really made the stay.
Not really a bad experience but the spa is too small. Although relaxing it needs to be bigger and a hot tub/jacuzzi would be better
The Cavendish is a beautifully-restored large Victorian Hotel on the sea-front, with large, spacious rooms with great views. It maintains the charm of Victoriana but quietly; nothing over the top. The Receptionist was smiley, welcoming and very efficient - Laura-Maria; a friendly, excellent ambassador for the hotel. My room on the 4th floor was modern & spacious, spotless, with large double bed, desk, small but clean bathroom with powerful shower, and the bedroom had a balcony with large sliding doors to it - plenty of fresh sea air! The bar food was fine - the restaurant looked a bit pricey for 2 courses - with a good pint of real ale. Breakfast was help-yourself, with good hot food and plenty of choice. I would stay again without hesitation. Quiet, comfortable, with all staff being attentive but without being over-familiar or in your face. It's everything I want from a hotel. Oh, and reviews I read that criticised the parking charge - you can now buy a £1 permit from Reception for a day's on-street parking anywhere around the hotel. The only niggle, if I had to find one, was a room charge for wi-fi - but a nice inducement not to turn on the iPad and work in my room when the view and the bar were equally accessible!
Good location right by pier. Very clean hotel. Great breakfast that was lovely food with great range and good service from staff
Was a party on at hotel and it would have helped if people that went to party stayed on floor 1 and other guests on higher foot. Music stopped at midnight and would been better if I had been on higher floor
friendly staff, very comfy beds, tasty food, good service ,value for money, easy to find parking, nice foyer.
decor abit too bland in room(county cream)would be nice to not been looking out onto heating system and car park, heating system out back too noisey, would be nice to have bath robes
Nice room. Clean. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast!
All ways enjoy our stay at the Cavendish which seems to be once a month at the moment.
This last stay the room was very poor, could not open the window and the disco went on till after midnight. Whilst I appreciate the function was all in a very good cause why give us a room directly above the dance hall. This should have been allocated to persons attending the disco. Not a happy visit this time.
The whole experience
COMFORT AND ALL SMALL DETAILS
We had a room with a very nice view of the sea, the breakfast was very good with good choice and attentive service.
Really nice hotel, friendly staff. Very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Excellent choice for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to re-book. Shirley & Anthony - Northamptonshire
Fantastic hotel in a great location. Clean and tidy and great breakfast. Nice big room with sea view.
We were very disappointed to have only luke warm bath water after a long day out walking and also to have a luke warm shower the following morning as well. Needed a bigger bed cover for such a lovely large bed.
very comfortable room with excellent bed and bathroom. Lovely view and balcony were a bonus.
Lots of choice at breakfast but a bit bland.
I liked the anonymity of it as we lead really busy lives at home.
I didn't like the smell that surrounded every area. It was a flowery smell which was very oppressive!
Location of hotel. Great value for money, good food
It was you could wish in a hotel on the sea front at a holiday resort. Good parking
We were not disturbed, our pricey was respected food first class
My complaint about room (outlook) was attended to with discretion and courtesy
Particularly liked the quality of the room and hotel. Service was good. Staff very polite and friendly. Good location. Overall a good experience that means we'll be likely to return. Our main purpose was a short break away to explore the area on foot.
Scaffolding wasn't a problem in itself, we were aware before our stay but, no curtain at bathroom window meant privacy was hit and miss as workman right outside the room on the balcony. We think some sign to let us know workman present and also curtain to maintain privacy whilst letting the room would be obvious!
All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally situated for easy access to the town centre or the beach. Breakfast proved to be a huge hit with my sons and the hotel offers a huge range of options including an A la carte version.
The Staff very friendly
