Our room had everything that you could think of, including a toothebrush and toothepaste for each person. There was also the thoughtful bottles of mineral water in the rooms. The breakfast had a great choice with good service. We did not eat in the restaurant as we thought it a tad too expensive but we did have a meal in the bar. This was very reasonably priced although I found the portions too large. I feel that it would be a good idea to lower the price in the restaurant for people staying at the hotel as this would encourage them to eat there.

The location of the hotel was perfect as it was convenient for shops, restaurants and local attractions such as the pier and beachy head. The food in the hotel was very good and the service efficient. The hotel spa staff were helpful, knowledgeable and provided an excellent service.

We stayed in room 309 which was large and very comfortable and had a wonderful view. The whole hotel was decorated to a high standard and very enjoyable. I wouldnt say I didnt like it but the breakfast would have been nicer if there was more fresh fruit rather than tinned, but it was nice anyway. Also there should have been more than one lift for the size of the hotel.

The staff are first rate. They look smart, are polite and very helpful. The food was good, the rooms very comfortable. The lounge area and library was very classy indeed and a major contributor to the luxury feel. The seafront room was disturbed by traffic noise and was too hot (in late October!). Breakfast was very good except the black pudding which was dire.. It nearly always is in hotels. The gym was tiny and the rowing machine was listing. The exercise mats needed cleaning.

I have stayed at the Cavendish Hotel on numerous occasions over a number of years and I hope you find my comments helpful......Convenient location with on site car parking, within easy walking distance of the town centre and theatres.Cross the road to the tiered promenade. Fantastic dining experience with friendly and helpful staff. Bar food is available if you have booked on a B & B rate with a limited food choice. Executive rooms are spacious, standard rooms with sea views provide a good level of comfort although there can be quite a bit of street noise both late into the night and early morning for rooms on the front of the hotel.

Check in and out was easy and the staff were always very helpful. The single room I booked was small but functional and all of the things you would expect were there. The breakfast (served buffet style unless you wished to have 'specials') would definitely satisfy any taste and stomach. The hotel was extremely well placed on the seafront and while my room did not have a seaview, the breakfast room certainly did. All in all a good standard of hotel and I would stay at The Cavendish again. The only downside was the evening meal in the restaurant. It was reasonably priced but certainly did not seem to be cooked to order but pre-plated i.e. the vegetables were generally stewed and the meals arrived at my table uncannily quickly. One foray into the a la carte menu for a starter was of a much better standard.

Room was large bed was comfortable tea and coffee facilities were good and stocked daily in room bar was empty but would be stocked if requested.Bathroom plumbing was excellent and plenty of hot water.Bath robes and slippers included with our rooms Internet connection was good in the bedroom and help via phone call to reception 24hrs immediately solved log in problems re password or username. There is a very small charge for this service.Restaurant was large well furnished meals were hot and tasty.5 courses if booked as bed breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was buffet style with tea/coffee in a tea/coffee pot and toast delivered by staff. All public rooms were beutifully furnished and decorated. After dinner coffee could be taken in the library which was full of atmosphere with a massive chandelier in the centre of the ceiling and a minstrels gallery also. All in all a real treat. Hotel opposite the bandstand and just a stone's throw from the promenade.Car park at rear of hotel Plenty of space when we visited in May and reserved places if disabled visitors needed spaces.Daily small charge for car parking

Check was very quick and easy , no quibbles about us arriving an hour or so before official check-in time of 15.00. We had an Executive Room - massive . Shower and bath were both excellent - constant and powerful hot water. We had a meal in the bar , altthough there was a wedding reception taking place and staff were busy, they were still unfailingly polite and attentive. The adjoining lobby lounge was quiet and relaxing , so you could easily any noise. Breakfast was fantastic too. The location on the seafront is unrivalled. We were politely declined entrance to the restaurant as we were in shorts and trainers. But in fairness the dress code is mentioned in the folder in the hotel room . We ate in the bar instead -food choice was on par with a restuarant - sao it wasn;t just bar snacks available

On both nights of our stay (a Friday night and a Saturday night) the hotel was hosting "Prom" parties for two different local schools or colleges. On the Friday night, in particular, this meant that the entrance hall and foyer was occupied by loud 18(?) year olds and loud music permeated the hotel until around 11.30-12pm. While we understand the need for the hotel to run events (although we surprised that a 4 star hotel should want to host school prom parties), they should ensure that the events do not affect the enjoyment of other parts of the hotel.

Beautiful hotel, excpetiopnal staff and excellent beach front location. Fantastic breakfast buffet. This was my second stay and will not be my last While there are televisions in the rooms the reception is such that you can only really get a good picture / sound on sky and bbc news and all the channels are in no particular order. I can imagine that on a cold rainy day where you don't want to spend all day outside on the beach this may be a little frustrating especially as tv is advertised as a feature of the rooms

The front entrance and lobby have been modernised and this looks like a boutique hotel Once you have past the front entrance the hotel does not live up to its 4 * standards. The rooms are outdated. I wanted a double bed but we had 2 twins pushed together. There was no bath only a shower. I wasn't advised of this prior to check in. We waited approx 15 mins each morning before we were asked whether we wanted a drink with breakfast. We could hear the music from the functions rooms when we were in bed each night and had to put up with other people screaming outside our bedroom - all in all not the best stay.

Flash deal that was so good. We had a lovely evening meal with wine and were happy to pay as we got such a good deal. This way, both customer and hotel benefit. Bring it on....

The location is fantastic with great sea views- watched a beautiful sunrise lift from the horzon out at sea. The decor is stunning and imortantly the staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast which was included is a very high standard - delicious - which we enjoyed while looking out to sea. We loved the buzz in the Corenet Bar for drinks. We will definatly be booking again for a romantic dinner /relaxing and fun night out on the town weekend.
