Excellent location with very attentive staff. Despite the high quality of the hotel, prices of bar meals were very reasonable

Recently refurbished and in excellent condition.

Whole hotel is to hot, windows have restricted opening (for safety), no air-conditioning.

Parking! I did not like having to park in the street, although I do recognise that most hotels on the Eastbourne seafront would face a similar problem. If I wasn't a very fit 79 year old, I'd have had trouble lugging my suitcase to the hotel. How they overcome the parking problem in the peak visitor season I don't know.

Location.

Booked a smoking room on here as advertised, on arrival No Smoking throughout the Hotel. Have stayed here before in a non seaview room which was far better than the sea view room we had this time. For some reason the room was very hot at night even with heating off and window open.! Curtains too short therefore woken early with light blazing through. There was a faint smell of 'tcp' and felt the room was in need of some tlc. On the whole not as good as the non seaview room we had before.

Lounge /Bar area was not really designed for comfort with. Perhaps a little formal given there is also a large reataurant and library area for those wishing to be in a quiet space.

Lovely hotel with good ambience. Car park facilities were handled well although we had to use the street.

Our room was small with a very small window. Hotel far too hot. Had window open all the time we were there. No TV remote control.

High class hotel, worth 4 stars– stunning view over the sea – clean, modern, spacious and silent rooms with big balcony (we had a suite) – good service – comfortable beds – peaceful atmosphere – decent breakfast – cheap parking (£4) at the back of the hotel – reasonable prices in the bar – god value for money.

unfortunately there were no chairs on the balcony and it was not possible to get any. Therefore we couldn’t use the balcony as intended. Since we now write 2013, WiFi (which by the way was fast but shut down after a short time of inactivity) should be free of charge.

Room was far too hot even without any heating on. When we complained we were told the upper floor rooms are hot !. I think a 4star hotel should have air conditioning on these south facing rooms

2nd trip this year - again a lovely room with a view of the sea. Perfect.

We loved the view from our executive bedroom and the lounge area where we enjoyed morning coffee. The staff were helpful and friendly.

At the Cavendish I stayed in a sizeable, clean and comfortable room with an excellent view of the bandstand/sea. All was good value and added to this was a substantial and well cooked buffet breakfast. I dined in the restaurant on one evening and the food was satisfactory if not remarkable. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner.

The room had no a/c (there are others in the hotel that do at extra cost) and so it was rather warm at night - the windows did open but then there was noise from the road below.

Good location

Hotel was grubby after a busy Sunday and lots of stains on carpets and chairs. My room was big and really bland. Felt like I was staying in a bedsit!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Our room exceeded our expectations. The library was a lovely area to have our afternoon tea. We really enjoyed our massages.

We sometimes had to wait at the bar to be served despite there being several members of staff there, we were not acknowledged. The bar area is quite basic, not really a relaxing place to eat due to the furniture. The restaurant wasn't a cosy place to eat dinner, we decided to eat in our suite.
