Cavens Country House Hotel  

The hotel was very comfotable and friendly. The food was very good. It was a good point from which to explore the beautiful area neglected by tourists.

The food was very costly. The fruit in the bedroom was not replenished. The grounds are not extensive though the impression given is that they are.

In its quiet, secluded, rural location, Cavens provides a comfortable, luxurious retreat. While just a little warmer than I prefer, the bedroom was nevertheless comfortable and well appointed. Dinner proved to be excellent both in presentation and flavour, as was breakfast. All in all, a very relaxing and agreeable experience.

A family run hotel, in beautiful surroundings, the most respectful staff, who made us feel so special, will definately be back.

The building is very old and has character.

The weather wasn't good for the short time we were there, and it was very cool in the evening and early morning, but there was no heating on in the building. Although it was summer, I think the holtel owner needs to make the place welcoming to guests, which includes providing heating when it is cold. The evening meals were expensive so we dined out.

Apart from the above, the personal touch we liked prior to departure, was the owner thanking us for staying with them & hoped to see us again! Breakfast meal was also great, with complimentary fruit cake with a pot of tea on arrival. Would stay here again, assuming they would have us!!

The exterior of the building requires painting but sure this will done soon? We didn't stay for the evening meal due to a prior engagement, but the price appeared high for what was on offer?

The peaceful location

Beautiful scenery. Very quiet and a great breakfast.

Stayed just one night but it was a lovely experience. The food was the highlight of the stay. Lovely peaceful location.

Poor menu choice for the price. Do not think Chicken & Salmon only choices worth £35.00
