One of the best private small manor houses in Scotland. Perfect interior, partly spacious room, nice and large garden. Perfect kitchen with local food and personal service, afternoon tea for house guests. Large lounge and drawing rooms. My personal highlight in Scotland.

The house and grounds were lovely - although it was a little cool for us to make use of the garden and terrace. It was in a good location as we wanted to see and walk some of the Dumfries and Galloway coast. I did find the dining room a little quiet but perhaps this was because the house was not full. We also found the food and coffee a little expensive for what we got.

The hotel was very comfotable and friendly. The food was very good. It was a good point from which to explore the beautiful area neglected by tourists. The food was very costly. The fruit in the bedroom was not replenished. The grounds are not extensive though the impression given is that they are.

Very relaxed family atmosphere - especially family photographs around. Bedroom extremely comfortable and dinner and breakfast excellent. Situation very picturesque in a lovely part of Dumfries and Galloway.

The ambience of the hotel and it's location. The beautifully cooked dinner and tasty breakfast and possibly the most comfortable and commodious bed I have ever slept in.

The location and setting contributes to a relaxing break. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was very tasty with good service. The breakfast was good. Disappointing that they did not have their own home-made bread at breakfast!
