The facilities the staff very friendly and helpful
The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome the spa was lovely and the breakfast was good
Hand basin taps not working, no cold water. Safe not working. Used tray of food left outside of room, it was there when we checked in, 3.30pm, still there at 11.30pm No draught beer all week end.
The Staff. Ambiance very good. A couple of issues we had were sorted by the Deputy Manager, Alex, in a very professional and understanding manner.
Late hour of 'Turn Down' Service. The Taps System in the Bathrooms were confusing,
The staff, decor, food and drink are all of the highest quality. Everythng you would expect from a five star hotel and more.
The only very slight issue was it took a while for the shower to heat up. Apart from that the place was faultless.
Location & facilities were very good. Cleanliness did not disappoint & quality of food excellent.
Amount of food served was inadequate. Mean. We had to say that we were still hungry after dinner & were given a bite size mince pie each! Breakfast was basic at best. It spoiled our perception of the hotel & we doubt we will come again. We'll go back to the Royl York. Far better value for money.
A beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was fantastic
Service, food, location and facilities were all top-class
Nothing at all
Location, friendly staff and very helpful. Good selection and choice of food at breakfast time.
Friendly, attentive staff in all areas. Great location in the centre of the city, short walk to train and bus stations- but the hotel itself is wonderfully quiet and restful. .
Restaurant a bit overpriced for what you get.
Everything. Wonderful staff, very attentive whilst unobtrusive. Immaculately clean all areas
Staff very polite and helpful, beautiful hotel. Enjoyed every minute, will be returning.
Enjoyed the bar area, room large and bright. Didn't use the pool area but it looked great nice lighting. Nice friendly staff.excellent breakfast and food services.
I do like to be able to open the room window farther than air con to sleep.
The buidling, the room, the staff, everything!
The great central location The pool and spa Incredibly luxurious bed and duvet
The staff were very helpful and polite, the in room dining was brilliant.
Staff went above and beyond especially receptionist.
spacious rooms molton brown toiletries
a lot of noise throughout the night - drunk people outside? next to a club maybe?
My wife and I are regular visitors to York, but this was our first visit to the Cedar Court Grand. The price was a little bit more than alternate accommodation (being the only 5 star hotel in York) but you could certainly see what you were paying for. We had a de-luxe room which was fantastic, absolutely huge. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the evening meal was great. All the staff were very professional and helpful. Had a lovely break. True 5 star hotel
The staff were attentive Bed was comfortable and room was clean
The food was mediocre to poor The corridoors were not to my taste nor was the reception area. It is a large imposing and sometimes dark building, the Christmas decorations should have countered this by being light and bright, in my opinion, not dark purples and greys. The toy soldier in reception was not Christmassy or classy enough. No free welcoming Christmas drink.
This was a really good hotel in an excellent position in the City. The staff were very helpful especially Concierge and the doorman.
York was very cold in December!
Location, cleanliness, and helpfulness
The level of service in the hotel is amazing, it would be impossible is single out any member of staff, they are all so professional. The facilities are on a par with much more expensive hotels, we loved the spa. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. I will certainly return. If you want to feel pampered this is the place for you.
Cannot think of a single thing to complain about.
