Our modern hotel was built in 1980 to a Roman theme, and is situated on the outskirts of Cannock Chase.

Reasonable price, good location for our needs excellent breakfast friendly and helpful staff
Rooms and bar need a face lift and re-fit
Cleanliness, size of TV, evening meal (although choice was limited), breakfast was excellent
décor was a bit tired, booked a double but got 3 single beds, no pedal on pedal bin, trouser press/ironing board was broken, needed a new light bulb at the foot of the stairs.
Friendly staff, location good for what we needed
Our room was above the bar so very noisy. Room was tatty and towel had a rip in it. Very hot
The cook lovely Man and couldnt have done enough to help. Breakfast was lovely
One room was unclean and the light didn't work
We had 3 rooms which all were dirty,we couldn't get the free wifi as advertised.only one of the tvs could pick up any channels.the showers would keep going hot and cold.
Not the cleanest and breakfast cutlery was visibly dirty.
Staff were very good
A bit of dirt on a table and TV reception was not very good
It was available on a busy day when we could find nowhere else.
It's old, tired, grubby, the bar is lifeless and the food they served was absolutely disgusting, I chose mushrooms in breadcrumbs and was served these pre frozen huge chunks of deep fried oily batter with minute mushrooms hiden inside ...inedible
Good value for money and breakfast was good. Staff friendly and helpful
Limited disabled facilities - room on first floor accessed by steep flight of stairs. Some areas need a bit of tender loving maintenance
bed was comfy ,facilities good,
room poor state, windows broken locks, heating on all the time, they lied about breakfast saying included in price then tried to charge us nearly eight pounds for a full english thats the only one they do .staff were rude and unhelpful wouldnt stay there again.
Receptionist friendly Breakfast good
Hotel grubby Water leaking through the ceiling in the bar area
Everything great stay
The only thing was the wi-fi was very bad
The breakfast. But they were far too slow serving it on the Sunday - two members of our party waited over 40 minutes.
It's a bit pricey for what is a rather down-at-heel establishment. Low water pressure in the shower. Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. Carpets were scruffy - especially in communal areas. One of our party ordered a draught Guinness in the bar (there was even a pump handle so marked) only to be told 'Guinness don't do it anymore' - untrue. Our room smelt slightly, but seemingly permanently, of damp. The curtains were hanging off the rail. The antique radio in our room didn't work and hasn't done for ages - the wires were cut off and hanging inside a drawer! OK, enough now.
Staff friendly and hotel nice and clean with good standards
Rooms decent, got a double instead of a single as they had spares and didn't charge me any more. Staff friendly, rooms clean and tidy. Good for the price.
Wi fi wasn't great.
The staff were so friendly and breakfast was great
Everything was fine nothing not to like
Sadly there is nothing I could really say I enjoyed about my stay here. I rarely leave reviews, and usually only good ones, but I would not stay here again.
The hotel was very old and tired. Parking area at the rear looked like the back of an industrial unit. Though a very pleasant lady, and obviously very busy elsewhere, the desk was empty when we arrived and had to wait to check in. Room was freezing, mattress extremely old and worn. Decor in dire need of upgrading. Sink blocked in the bathroom, shower screen leaked leaving a pool of water on the floor, toilet would only flush after several attempts. Only one hand towel and one bath towel, even though double occupancy. Very noisy room from other guests in the bar, and at about one a.m. there was some sort of collection outside the hotel of bottles or the like that went on till around two.
The staff were excellent. We were made extremely welcome. The food was really good and the hotel and rooms were comfortable and extremely clean and tidy.
This hotel was very good value for money. The bed was very comfy and the facilitates were standard. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar stayed opened as long as we wanted to stay. Can't comment of food as didn't have any. Overall good value for money.
Could do with updating but other than that enjoyed the stay.
When a hotel asks you for cash on arrival, and then informs you there is no food available, you know you are in for a bad time
Very tired needs updating
Nice location and staff. Generally happy
Hotel needs a bit of an update. Bathroom needed to be cleaned better and so did the carpets but generally ok other than that.
Hotel is in need of a good facelift. In the bar there Was a bucket on the floor for drips from the ceiling And all the rooms looked worn and tired. Drink prices Were excessive for the standard of hotel price for Overnight stay probably excessive.
The breakfast was probably the best thing
The rooms were stuffy and old fashioned. The whole hotel smelt. The whole experience was grim!!!
On arrival it looked closed, very shabby exterior, the interior was just as bad, old dated furniture and carpets. Rooms were small and smelly.
